Really impressive Service!

I really recommend FP Surveying - the service from booking, through to survey was highly efficient, fabulous value for money and I was really really impressed with my surveyor Nigel Sloper.

Nigel was so helpful and easy to engage his services, even before the survey had been carried out I felt highly assured and confident that the survey report would be extremely helpful in having total clarity on the property I hoped to purchase.

Bit chaotic

Received a RICS report quote from them through a surveyor comparison site. Quote was competitive and I reached them via webchat to check availability. They confirmed it could be done the following week, so I made an appointment.

However, I did not receive any booking confirmation for a day. I was told the booking had actually been scheduled for a month later when I followed up the next day. This big gap wasn't quite acceptable. They then forwarded my case to their partner surveyor L&G without informing me. I only found out after receiving emails from L&G, and when I queried it, they confirmed the referral.

The report from L&G was actually quite comprehensive, but I believe it had nothing to do with FP.

I would advise that if anyone chooses to use them, you will need to chase them immediately after placing your order. Things may get lost or delayed as they do not keep you informed by default.

You're right that when your booking came in, the surveyor we initially allocated was not available as soon as you needed. We spent the following day working to find you an earlier appointment, which is why the confirmation took a little longer than it should have. We appreciate that delay wasn't acceptable and we're sorry for the uncertainty it caused.

Once we understood your timeframe, we arranged for your survey to be carried out by Legal and General, one of the UK's largest and most respected surveying firms. What we should have done is communicated that to you clearly and promptly, and we hold our hands up to the fact that in our efforts to get things sorted quickly for you, that important detail was missed. That's not good enough and it's something we are taking on board. Incidentally, the use of panel partners is clearly explained in the terms and conditions that you agreed to, and the privacy policy you had access to, but we fully accept that this is no substitute for clear and proactive communication from our team.

We're pleased the report itself was comprehensive, as you noted, and we hope it served you well with your purchase.

To anyone reading this, we want to be transparent. When demand is high we do work with a trusted network of partners to ensure surveys are completed to the highest standard and within the timeframes our customers need. We will always endeavour to keep you informed every step of the way, and we are working to make sure this kind of communication gap does not happen again.

Possible data breach

I phoned FP Surveying before instructing them to ask when the survey would be carried out, I was advised one week. After instructing them, they booked our survey in for nearly three weeks later. I contacted FP Surveying to advise I needed an earlier survey to be done and they said they would see what they could do. I then received an e-mail from L&G Surveying Surveys Ltd attaching forms to instruct them, I phoned FP Surveying who told me they had passed my details to L&G for them to do our survey as L&G could do it next week. Although not happy about this, I accepted this. The following day, I got another e-mail, this time from Countrywide Home Surveys, who were thanking me for instructing them to do my survey. I phoned FP Surveying again, they told me that L&G were no longer able to do my survey due to sickness, so they had asked Countrywide Home Surveys to do my survey. At this point I asked for a refund and said I would get another firm to do my survey. I then received another e-mail from FP Surveying advising me they could do my survey early next week. At this point I had already instructed another surveyor (who carried out my survey three working days after instructing them and I received their report the day after the survey was carried out) and therefore told FP Surveying to go ahead with refunding my monies. The only reason that I have not given a 1* rating is because the refund was received within two working days. I am not sure whether there has been a data breach due to the fact that I have not authorised my personal information to be shared with L&G Surveying Surveys Ltd or Countrywide Home Surveys.

In situations where we are trying to meet tighter timescales, we may look to trusted panel partners to assist with delivery. This should always be communicated clearly, and I’m sorry that this process did not feel smooth in your case.

With regards to your concern around a possible data breach, I would like to reassure you that this is not the case. When instructing us, you agreed to our terms and conditions and were provided with access to our privacy policy, which clearly explains that we may share information with carefully selected partners to fulfil the service. All data is handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act and relevant regulations.

I’m pleased we were able to process your refund promptly, although I appreciate this does not undo the earlier experience.

Stuart was top quality

Stuart was brilliant, courtesy calls were made and where I could not answer detailed voice mails and emails were sent. This allowed me to ask specific questions which be was then able to provide guidance on. The turn around time was the best ive ever had also within 24 hours to receive the report which considering the detail within it was very impressive.
The price of the survey was by far the cheapest I had available.

When my purchase on another property was not viable, they paused it free of charge no questions asked and when I found my new property had it booked within a week.

Help to Buy valuation made stress free!

We had a great experience with FP Surveying for our Help to Buy valuation. I made the payment online on the Monday and received a call two days later to book the valuation, with slots offered as soon as the following day.
The evening before the booking I received a text with a 2 hour time slot. On the day of the booking, I received a call from John Frost (MRICS) to let me know when he was on his way. On arrival John was very polite and knowledgeable.
Later that afternoon, John called me to inform me of the valuation and I received the report by email that very same day. Everything was so efficient, and this meant that I could submit the valuation report to Help To Buy the day after it had been completed.
I highly recommend FP Surveying for your Help to Buy valuation, John Frost went above and beyond to help us and we are sincerely grateful.

An excellent service from Nick Faulkner!

An excellent service from Nick Faulkner of FP Surveying, who conducted a Level 2 survey on a four bed property in March 2026.
Nick checked with us before the survey to get our perspective of the property and if we have any specific points that we would like him to look into.

Bad communication once money was taken. Report decent though..

I found this company very friendly and quick when giving a quote and setting up the survey and taking the money. However I received no communication from that point onwards when I expected to receive a message letting me know that the survey had been done and a rough time to expect a full report. I waited weeks and then starting emailing them with no answer. Being abroad I had to get my mum to call their office before I recieved anything from them and then finally received the report. The report was very thorough and clearing laid out. However when I asked follow up questions around the report it still took a good few days to receive a response to a quick question. Hence 3 stars

Great service

Great service - the survey was arranged promptly. I was contacted prior to the survey to find out more about what I wanted from the report, and received a phone call afterwards with a summary of the findings. The report was completed and sent over to me the next working day.

I am very happy with the service, and it was the cheapest option too.
