AVOID!!! Shambolic organisation! Trying to contact them is like trying to contact the dead!! You spend hours trying to get through then they pretend they can’t hear you ! Ridiculous service, all we wanted to do was cancel but what a mission. Thank goodness we didn’t need to make a claim .

Had the wrong model of car listed on my policy, which I noted when they sent through a renewal document. I called their customer service team with the plan to renew and have the small error rectified.
The agent was extremely rude when I pointed out the error in model type, in fact so rude and unhelpful I decided not to bother renewing with them. I then told him to cancel the auto renew and not to attempt to take the money from my account. He refused to do this as well. I was therefore left with just one option to call my bank and ask them not to allow them to debit my account.
Sure enough 1st central tried to take the money.
Avoid these Scammers !!!!!

Where to start...
Technical issues meant nobody was answering calls one day. Queues for over an hour on the web chat just to 'chat' with a human.

More info requested after 14 day cooling off period and then hiked my initial premium. Can't cancel because they'll charge me £180 and buying insurance elsewhere this last minute will cost me even more.

Poor customer service. I asked a question to see if I could lower the premium. The woman removed my whole quote and then proceeded to argue with me
when I told her I didn't want the quote removed, that I was simply asking a question to see if something was possible!

Left a bad review and now when I try to call them, I input my car reg and DOB for the standard security check and as soon as that's confirmed, they disconnect the line. Is there a reason you don't want to speak to customers you're trying to rip off?

Warning to anyone thinking about changing your policy to this company, they really are the worst! Customer service is diabolical and you could be on hold all day and they still wouldn’t manage to sort out your problem. Don’t be swayed by them coming up cheaper on sites like compare the market. Spend the extra few pounds and have the peace of mind. I wish I had as I had to cancel my policy and change to a different company as they were so incompetent!

I have insurance with first central changed my registration to a new vehicle i was purchasing the date was wrong so I changed it to the right date when i checked the next day they had cancelled my car insurance and changed it to the car i was getting the next day tried to call them twice they disconnected both calls after 30 minutes tried to change online again they wanted £80 total con will never use them again also i have had too get a one day insurance for my original car

1st Central when I tried to make a claim against a car driver insured by them, blocked my phone calls and emails, thus completely blocking all my efforts to submit a claim. Their insured driver drove into my mobility scooter on a T junction which is unlawful. Did £500 of damage. One does not have to insure mobility scooters so I have lost that money.

If I could give less than 1 star I would this company put you through the absolute mill for weeks asking the same questions even having AI robots accessing your case with no intention of paying out , after 40 years of paying into their greedy system they decide in their own favour no surprise there let’s hope you shut down soon .

Avoid the thefts. After signing the policy they want additional documents and rise the charges. Don't recognised my 20 y no claim bonus which is valid for all companies till now, and asked me additional payment of 170,56 pounds. I immediately asked cancellation and they charged me 130 pounds cancellation tax even though they initiated the problem. These people arrogantly with no shame try to pull out money from you. Their quotes are low only to gather more people to rob.

Avoid this company at all costs!!
Scammers email for additional info after the cooling off period, then ramp up the policy cost and will charge extortionate cancellation fees
Would give no stars if was an option.
Call centre staff, have very poor English communication skills

AVOID this company owe me over £500 taken incorrectly, complete joke of a customer service .I have massive regrets ever using them don’t make same mistake

Customer service was atrocious, all sound like they are reading from prompt cards, couldn't answer any questions or give any helpful information in dealing with my query. Extremely unhelpful and poorly trained. Would stay far away from this company

Very poor customer service. I was messed about with my no claims discount, had to keep chasing for updates, and it took far too long to resolve. Because of their mistakes, my insurance increased by over £900. Overall, a very frustrating experience. I wouldn't recommend.

Fraudsters. Do NOT Trust. I tried to change my vehicle from a large SUV to a hatchback and the quote remained the same, despite other policies quoting me far lower. I then tried to leave and they want to charge me annual fees for a vehicle I'll no longer own for the privilege. Tried to ask about these cancellation annual fees such as hire car and personal injury being at the very least pro rata and after speaking to two people, who clearly had me on speaker phone and were laughing at me and didn't want to help me at all, I gave up. A formal complaint has been lodged. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!!

Fraudsters do not use , they bombard you with threats saying you've filled things out wrong and then charge you extortionate fees real bott ble nasty company

Nightmare DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY I made a mistake filling in my details I put housewife as didn’t know what to put Im I’ll with cancer and unemployable I do have a BSc from a redbrick uni and had a job till cancer took it all away . Awful assistant said she had to change it to unemployed and the fact I had 8yr as I thought it was 7 NCD She then adjusted my price initially 495 then xhe added another 400 on fir the minor mistake . I have cancelled but already lost 150 not bad for two weeks insurance If they do this when there’s minor changes imagine what would happen if you tried to make a claim . Do not use this company

Awful brought the policy paid the premium they then took an additional £554.83 which they say they didn’t eventually had to get the bank onto it, they then tried to increase the policy by £580 still saying they hadn’t taken the £554, could not log on to their website even after having 8 password requests just kept saying Oops. In the end we just cancelled the policy, also they don’t except no claims bonus if you had a van before, even through it was a private not company van so if you have full no claims bonus they put it down as 0 (no mention of that on their website) I spent a total of 22hours over a 3 week period & every time you spoke to someone they had to go through everything again, they were useless DEFINITELY AVOID THIS COMPANY

If you have any kind of issue and you do eventually get through to South Africa to speak to someone I wish you luck! Don't even bother with the webchat! Go elsewhere and save yourself the time and stress.

Please stay away from this company. I wanted to cancel my policy after only two weeks, but they charged me almost half of the total amount I would have paid for the entire year. On top of that, after the cancellation, they still took another monthly payment. They also took money from my credit card without my consent. So, despite being with them for only two weeks, I was charged for two months and also had to pay a cancellation fee. In my experience, this company is dishonest and I would not recommend them to anyone

I had car insurance with them, and then I had to move house so when I went online to try to put in my new address it charged me £307. I thought this cannot be right so I phoned them up and they said yes to change my address. It would cost £307 down to the underwriters, absolutely disgusting. I cancelled my Insurance with them on the spot. I have quite a large Business and a lot of employees and I will be telling them not to use them at all, so watch out be warned they will take every penny from you.

Having just been ripped off by Collingwood insurance on my sons car i feel i should leave a review when things also go well.
Swapped my car, Price to swap with 1st Central not competitive, Cancelled with very small fee and DD that had just been paid has been refunded. Excellent.
