Have a Firebird boiler which is approx 6years old. Serviced sept 21, lockout issues ever since. After several visits from other engineers but issue still not resolved contacted Matthew at FB who sent Steve from Heattech (boiler whisperer) who recognised the issue within 1 minute). Fuel pump. Am confident that the issue is resolved now as Steve took the time to educate and show me the issue.

I am struggling to believe some of the previous reviews of the boiler and service this company offers.
I own multiple properties across the country and always fit Firebird Heating Products. I have been using them for ten years. Yes I have had some breakdowns within a warranty period but I have to give it to them customer service was awesome and within a few days an engineer had attended and solved the issue.
I have properties with a different make and I have to wait 2 weeks for a warranty call this is quite normal.
I recommend Firebird every time over any other makes.

Very disappointed with my firebird boiler
Once the warranty ran out the controller packed up.
And shortly after that the thermostic valve failed and now no hot water
The installer that recommended this brand is so embarrassed to have recommended it
Only consolation we have 3 boilers here and only 1 firebird . For sure future replacement will NOT be firebird
My Firebird Combi compact boiler was installed in 2017, when our kitchen was refitted. Despite annual servicing, it reliably breaks down at least twice per year. So much so, I am quite adept at figuring out how to troubleshoot some common issues and usually manage to get it going again. Failures including:
- 3 x Grundfos pumps replaced (1 x water, 2 x CH)
- Thermostatic bypass valve failure - yet to be fixed, but means the hot water runs very hot.
- Riello (burner) control unit - the original unit was replaced with an older style analogue unit, since then the burner has been reliable.
I am writing this review as one of the Grundfos 25-40/60 pumps has failed, this being the 4th time a water pump has packed-in. Whilst this is more likely a reflection on Grundfos build-quality, the reliability issue remains the same with this boiler. I have never bought such an unreliable contraption before, and I have had a long line of Alfa Romeos.
The plumber who initially recommended Firebird, no longer recommends the brand as he has concluded that he keeps having to revisit them too often for repairs and its made him look bad.

We had a Firebird boiler fitted in October 2019 and since January 2020 we have had ongoing issues. Engineers have visited our house and had to order & fit numerous parts to the boiler but still it is not sorted. My husband & I are in our late 60's and my husband suffers with severe arthritis which is affected by the cold. On 1st January 2022 the boiler broke down again & we are without hot water & heating. We will need to wait for the engineers & Firebird to open after new year before getting anyone to do something so once more we are sitting in a cold house! We have constantly been in touch with Firebird during the last 2 years about the boiler & received an email in December 2021 after another breakdown, stating that they will send an engineer out in January 2022 as a 'gesture of goodwill' because the boiler is outside their 2 year warranty. Considering they are well aware of the ongoing problems & the fact that we have been in a pandemic during which in the months of lockdown we were unable to get any resolution they should be extending their warranty and fitting a new boiler! I definitely would not recommend buying this product.
Well I'm still waiting for someone from Firebird to contact me!
I phoned Firebird today 5.1.22 as they sent another part to be fitted which arrived today but still didn't solve the issue. We now have to wait for yet another part to arrive tomorrow (which incidentally was fitted in December). Firebird have spent the past 2 years sending parts to try & fix the boiler but have failed to do so. Now is the time to replace the boiler or refund & compensate for a boiler which is unfit for purpose!
5 days without heating or hot water not for the first time.

We had a new Firebird Enviromax Combi boiler fitted during the Summer/Autumn of 2015 following a local heating engineer recommendation. He brought round the local rep Gary to have a look first and he confirmed that it would be great for us after having a Worcester Bosch for 20 years plus which needed replacing. However, since having the Firebird we have had numerous problems with it - regularly breaking down each year, and today - Boxing Day! - it has yet again locked out. I was only serviced 2 weeks ago. It is very unreliable, and when we originally complained about it as it kept breaking down we tried to get Gary out again and he wouldn't return our calls. All he was interested in was getting a sale. We are now planning on having it removed after 6.5 years of appalling reliability. We will never have a Firebird again and are planning on going back to a Worcester boiler. Don't buy one - they are rubbish.

We have had a series of problems with our boiler in the two years since installation but have enjoyed a relatively trouble free period for some months. Then we found a leak. Fortunately we managed to stop the leak and after adjusting the water pressure the hot water was restored. A day later the heating failed to come on and three days later an engineer came out. He got it to switch over to heating at midday. By late afternoon it failed again. Another engineer came out two days later. He changed a part but no success and then asked me to check the taps for any dripping since it was obvious to him that the call for hot water was taking preference. I checked and reported negative. So came the crushing assessment that we had a leak in our hot water pipe somewhere in the system. He tried one more test involving our shower controls and came upstairs. At which point I noticed that the bath tap ( one of those round ones that turns to open and close ) was indeed trickling. I had failed to adjust the on /off control properly to the off position. Problem solved. This may well have been the problem on previous occasions and could explain an intermittent and seemingly random problem with heating failing to come on. Thank you Kenny for solving the problem and explaining so much about the inner workings of the boiler to us. Thanks too to Customer Service for courteous and relatively prompt service at a busy time of the year.
We have now learned how to check and address a small list of potential problems including checking for dripping taps giving us a measure of control before having to call customer service.

Firebird Enviromax Combi Boiler - Lock Out Error.
Called customer services to discuss the fault on Thursday, parts arrived Saturday morning day. I returned to the customer the same day to fit them. No further lock out issues - result!
Exceptional Customer service. Happy Heating Engineer and a very Happy warm customer. 5 Stars

Never get a Firebird boiler.
We had a new Firebird boiler installed in September 2019. We have had nothing but trouble since then. Not long after the initial installation, we called the fitter out to fix various issues (in simple terms, it wasn’t working - no heat, no hot water) and he was unable to fix it after three goes. Firebird sent out their own engineers to replace the boiler. Still, problems persist. Weird noises, cutting out, lock out after lock out due to high pressure. Leaks. Faulty components. Every winter so far it has failed us. Today, we lost heating and hot water again. There is no pressure and, upon opening the casing, I can see leaks and corroded pipes everywhere. There is a constant dripping into the electrics in various places.
Never get a Firebird boiler.

Awesome support!
We’ve had the “Popular c35” for over ten years, no matter what happens it’s a great boiler with few problems however it’s the people who provide the outstanding service that sets them apart.
Next day delivery and everyone from customer services, reception, parts and technical support are amazing. Many thanks to David Pitt, Jake and Amy who helped my on those occasion. Looking forward to getting the Air Source heat solutions.

Just had Gary Davies (National Sales Manager) visit our most troublesome boiler - we couldn’t have asked for any better service at all. He spent a long time with us and seems to have resolved most of our issues.

My new Firebird boiler ran very well. It heated the radiators and the water. However there was a very strange noise when the hot water heated up. Firebird were quick to monitor the situation changing several components without delay and eventually, when the problem could not be solved they gave me a new replacement boiler which has been performing perfectly.
I would like to add special thanks to Jake Bate in customer service and Dave Rouse the engineer both of whom worked tirelessly under difficult conditions to install my new external boiler.

If there was a zero star option it would honestly have it because since we've has the external boiler fitted it has been nothing but a issue! (Neaely 2 years go) The amount of engineers that have been out to fix it it broke again a couple of days latee! And everyone of them have said and done something different and blame the last engineer for the problem.. fire birds customer service is absolutely shocking! Been fobbed off and phone put down on! No call backs when I've been told they'd ring me back! I sent a emai that got replied too until I sent over my address and what was the problem with the boiler then got ignored this is by someone called jake bate! I am fed up of ringing and ringing all we want is the boiler fixed especially with having 3 young kids. They left us 3 days with no heating or hot water! I rang up and got told by one of them "he didn't know what was up with the boiler and its not his problem!" At this current minute we have no pressure in the boiler someone came out 2 weeks ago to sort the problem the day after it broke! And we have has to pressure it up twice a day but it's got to the point where its no our problem! It is leaking from several places dripping onto other things!
They just don't care about their customers!

All the issues that have been wrong with the boiler is todo with how it has been poor built nothing todo with it been installed as it comes fully built up ready to be installed anyway it has 3 pipes that just needed connected and None of off have leaked or broke like the rest of the boiler! And since you sent a man put on Friday it broke the next day and now it keeps locking out??

I purchased my boiler after talking to a sales lady from Devon, her knowledge was exceptional and I am so glad I listened to her advice.

Had been having problems with my new Firebird external oil boiler and, after the engineer who installed it was unable help I called firebird direct. Their customer service was excellent and I had an engineer (Brian) visit straight away who really knew what he was doing. The lady in the office I spoke to was also very friendly and helpful. Can't thank firebird enough for their friendly, quick and efficient service and for fixing the ongoing problem.
