I would not buy online from this store again.
Federated Tool Supply Company
After a great deal of shopping around for Christmas gifts in 2025, I made an online order at Federated Tool in late November, even though reviews on this proprietor are mixed. I ordered some Veto Pro PAC items and Milwaukee. After a week of hearing nothing, I received an email from them which stated I could have the MILWAUKEE stuff now, but the Veto Pro PAC items would be 3-4 weeks. My other option was to cancel the order.
I decided to cancel the order and in all fairness, Federated Tool credited my Visa within hours. I’m glad for that. But, nowhere did it say on the product page for the Veto items they were not in stock, on back order, or would take a month to ship. I feel slighted for that and that my time was wasted.
When I visit Atlas Tools, they plainly state when an item is not in stock and you can be notified via email when it is. At ITM, another Canadian tool retailer, they state when an item is not in stock and have an estimate as to how long it would be. Federated Tool would rather have you waste your time by placing the order (which could have an effect on your other purchases especially around Christmas) and then tell you days later they don’t have it. No incentive like, sorry, here’s 20% off for our error.
That was my first order with Federated Tools and it will be my last. I don’t appreciate a company taking advantage of their customers this way. I’ve worked in retail for years as a young man and have an e-commerce business myself now. I know where most of the difficulties lie and how retailers can cut corners to make sales. It’s something I work hard not to do. Advertising products for sale you don’t have in stock and not telling your customer upfront is just unethical and bad business practice. I would stay away from online orders with this retailer. Or at least call them ahead of your purchase to confirm stock. But that should be an unnecessary step, whether it is in September or December.
