Brought a contract that was confirmed…
Brought a contract that was confirmed through Expedia to rent a car for $44.32 from Hertz. They then ignored the contract and charged me $46.64. Car was returned with full tank of gas and no damage whatsoever. No way to get in touch with anyone in Expedia. Expedia is useless and not worth the small savings.
Dishonest fraudulent Contracting.
Expedia Group is this behaviour Legal?
After cancelling our accommodation 2 weeks before our trip, Expedia (Vrbo) didn’t offer an alternative accommodation on any of their sites, which either match our requirements or met their own Verbocare criteria, however, the cancelled property was put back on their site at 3x the cost, is this legal?
Selling a service to an ineligible consumer
@Expedia sold me a cancellation insurance during checkout for my hotel booking.
I purchased it in good faith.
Only after canceling due to medical reasons I learned the insurance is valid only for US residents — and I live in Argentina.
Expedia admits products should match each customer’s residency, yet keeps sending me to an insurer that CANNOT cover me.
This is mis-selling of insurance.
I just want a fair refund for a product I was never eligible for.
Itinerary 72066696863316.
Still waiting for proper assistance.
Expedia Group is horrible
Expedia Group is horrible. Do not use Expedia, Cheap Tickets, etc. for any of your bookings. When they book you a horrible itinerary and you miss your short turn around flight you will be out high last minute ticket prices for a ticket you already purchased. They DO NOT give refunds. They get them from the airline. If your delay is air traffic control related, no one is responsible for your loss except you. Never use Expedia or their other name brands for Expedia Group. You will be sorry in the end and paying out of pocket.
I experienced a serious technical issue…
I experienced a serious technical issue while booking a hotel through Expedia. On December 2nd, after selecting the hotel and entering my credit card details, the app unexpectedly redirected me back to the main booking page. I received no confirmation email, and the reservation was not visible in my account, so I reasonably believed the booking had failed.
Later that day, I completed the booking successfully using another Expedia account and received confirmation immediately. Those confirmed reservations were later canceled on time and without penalty, as confirmed directly by the hotel.
I was later informed of an additional reservation that I was never notified about and never received a confirmation email for, leaving me with no opportunity to cancel it. No services were used. This appears to be a system error, yet I am still seeking a fair resolution.
I hope Expedia reviews this case properly and resolves it responsibly.
Horrible Expedia Experience - 0 Trust, 0 Customer Service
Despite having two "confirmed" airline tickets ( and accommodation reservation ) which were fully paid for just before my departure Expedia informed me I did not have a confirmed airline reservations and likely would not be able to get a seats on the plane. I was told I would have to make an additional payment ( the same amount as a third ticket) in order to travel. I made the payment and received the exact same confirmation code and seats that I was originally assigned. The explanations were varied and ludicrous and I have been stonewalled by Expedia in attempting to resolve this including through the BBB
"I'm writing to express my…
"I'm writing to express my disappointment and concern about my recent stay at The Pearl Resort in Pacific Harbour, Fiji (19th-21st Sept). I booked a family room with an ocean view, but unfortunately, I was bitten by bedbugs every morning, which left me with hives. Even after returning home, I'm still experiencing itchiness and inflammation. I hope the resort takes immediate action to inspect and improve their mattress and bedding quality. When I reported the issue to the duty manager, she didn’t bother to apologized however, mentioned they would ask house keeping staff. I look forward to seeing some changes or a health environmental inspection by the Ministry of Health and Environment.
Extremely Frustrating Experience – Never Again
I’ve been working in the travel and events industry for years, and my experience with the Expedia Group Affiliate Service has been one of the most frustrating I’ve ever had.
For a single client booking, I had to go through three different reservations before finally securing availability. Despite this, the support team kept asking me again and again for new reference numbers, even after I provided the final client confirmation. Weeks of back-and-forth, wasted time, and in the end no proper resolution or payment.
My client has already traveled, returned, and even purchased another trip from me in the meantime, yet I’m still being asked for irrelevant details. This is not professional.
Affiliate partners work hard to deliver sales and satisfied customers, but in this case I feel I worked for nothing. Unfortunately, this experience has convinced me that I will never use Expedia Group Affiliate Service again.
Wish I could give zero stars
Wish I could give zero stars.
1) 3 times in the last month, Expedia promoted a price on a flight. I completed the entire online booking process, and at the very end, Expedia says the price jumped 3x during my purchase. Scam. Bait and switch. They know that’s what I want to buy so they jack up the price and hope I’m in too deep to change my mind.
2) They promote low-price fares, but once you select them, everything is a new fee. Need a seat on your flight? Extra fee. Need to check a bag? Extra fee. Nothing that is disclosed is accurate. And if your plans change, Expedia does nothing to support its customers - they send you to the hotel or airlines you’re booked with. Experian adds zero value
Experian is scam and will go bankrupt in 5 years. Or will be sued into oblivion.
I strongly advise against booking with Expedia
I strongly advise against booking flights with Expedia. In my experience, they do not provide the level of support you would expect from a reliable travel agency. I had to cancel a flight due to escalating conflict in the Middle East, specifically a route through Abu Dhabi. At the time, much of the regional airspace, including over Dubai and Qatar, was closed, and many airlines had canceled their flights. Unfortunately, Etihad did not cancel, which I consider irresponsible given the circumstances.
My top priority was safety, so I canceled and booked a new flight through a safer region. Since I purchased the original ticket through Expedia, I expected them to assist with the refund or resolution. Instead, Expedia referred me to the airline, and the airline referred me back to Expedia. Neither took responsibility.
This was the day after Iran bombed a U.S. base in Qatar—clearly not a time to be flying through the region. Despite this, Expedia refused to consider the context and relied strictly on rigid policies that made no sense in this situation.
If you value responsiveness and advocacy in a crisis, I recommend using a traditional travel agent. They will fight for you, Expedia won’t.
Our reservation made for a hotel…
Our reservation made for a hotel through Hotels.com was canceled the day of my stay.
Hotels.com is now owned by Expedia Group. Now, I will be constantly worried if I ever use their services. For 13 years I never was concerned about booking on Hotels.com.
Since the buyout by Expedia Group, I feel I cannot trust them. It was quite fiasco to show up to the hotel and learn I had no place to stay. Not to mention, three groups of friends also booked for the same night for my birthday celebration.
Good luck to all that choose to use their services.

They tell me I need to fill out Tax…
They tell me I need to fill out Tax forms as a host, but their site is so horrible and buggy. It doesn’t work. Apparently it’s so bad that when I googled it, I found out that I’m not the only one having issues with this. I contacted support and they just kept saying try clearing your caches. Kind of scary to think that a site like that can’t even handle something as important as tax forms that they are insisting on.
Awesome experience and quick service.
Expedia is a Joke
Expedia messed up my booking, and their customer service is horrible. Took forever to get any help, and I ended up paying more than I should’ve. Never again.
This review is for VRBO
This review is for VRBO, owned by Expedia Group. To say that our experience with VRBO over the last 3 months has been enormously disappointing is a gross understatement. We rented a VRBO luxury property for a 3 month period (Jan- March 2025) in Ocala, FL. Prior to booking the reservation, we communicated on the VRBO platform with the property owner multiple times about the property details. It was never once disclosed that there would be a property manager living on site full time, on the same property. My daughter and I went to check in to Casa Mirabella and were startled by a woman who aggressively approached us as we were exploring the property. She introduced herself as the property caretaker, who lives on site full time (and has for several years) to monitor the property and renters, collect trash & mail, and care for the horses on the property. The description of this home did not disclose an on-site, full-time property manager or a 2nd home on the same property. Further, the owner did not disclose this information in our multiple conversations on the VRBO platform prior to or after booking. VRBO's current national advertising campaign, claims that VRBO will NEVER rent a property that has a property manager living on site. VRBO specifically claims in their ads: you will have your property all to yourself, you will never have a property manager show up to a seat at the table (or in the hot tub...movie night...etc). We first tried to settle this misrepresentation directly with the owner of Casa Mirabella, per VRBO's policy. The owner denied that anyone shared the property. She told us to take it up with VRBO. When we contacted VRBO, they suggested that we go to the property and video the caretaker and property as they wanted us to submit video evidence.
We had already informed VRBO that this property is in a very rural area with no cell service, and the property manager was aggressive in her approach to me and my daughter. Still, VRBO would not do anything to rectify the situation without us going back to the property and submitting videos of the caretaker on site. Following VRBO’s direction, we went to the property several times over two months attempting to get videos, but they were not to VRBO’s satisfaction because we were not directly confronting the property manager. We expressed to VRBO that my daughter and I were too afraid as the property manager aggressively approached us on her golf cart twice when we drove by to get videos and the property is in a very rural area with no cell coverage, which made us more nervous if things went bad. We expressed our fear to VRBO multiple times, and still, they insisted that we must go to the property and video the manager on site if we wanted a refund. My boyfriend flew to Ocala so that he could go with me to get the video since VRBO was repeatedly asking me to put myself in an uncomfortable and unsafe situation. Together, Mike and I drove to Casa Mirabella, and were able to video the property and the caretaker per VRBO's request. We submitted 4 unique videos + audio of the property, property manager and property owner via phone, each displaying the proximity of the both homes on the same property within the same gate. The videos recorded several minutes of audio between the property manager, property owner and my boyfriend, which clearly identifies the woman (property manager) living on site full time for many years. These videos were submitted to our rep at VRBO and after viewing none of the videos, they denied our claim for refund. VRBO is not only falsely advertising, they insisted that we put ourselves in a very uncomfortable, possibly dangerous situation. Despite submitting undeniable evidence at VRBO’s request, VRBO denied our claim for refund. We are unbelievably disappointed and shocked over how VRBO has responded to our situation.
NEVER RENT THROUGH VRBO and NEVER Rent Casa Mirabella in Ocala, FL.
Robbed by Expedia
Robbed by Expedia. I paid €2446 for a booking, Expedia cancelled my booking 5 days before departure (without warning) and (after battling) reimbursed me €1580. Therefore, Expedia has robbed me of €866 in taxes and fees. Not to mention my holiday.
If anyone is looking to make a quick buck, do what Expedia does: sell a product you don't have, cancel and keep the ‘taxes and fees’.

Worst Affiliate for Hotel Video production
Unfortunately, we have only wasted time and money, and it seems that your team has no knowledge of videography. Most of the videos have been rejected, while three months ago, all of these video styles were approved.
This behavior is unprofessional because if our work was bad, none of the videos should have been approved in the first place. Now, all the videos are being removed for a ridiculous reason.
This is truly embarrassing! Someone who doesn't even know how to operate a camera is sitting behind a computer, rejecting video after video that we spent time and money on for a trivial reason!
This is really shameful, and we will definitely no longer create videos for you. We will sell all these videos on video selling platforms and earn dozens of times more—$150 per download.
This has been one of the worst collaborations with third-party companies, and it seems like a child completed your review team and is making the decisions, as if they are trying to pay for the videos out of their own pocket.
About three months ago, you approved all videos of this style that we created, but now you are rejecting all of them. This policy change has caused us to lose over $8,000 because we decided to continue producing videos based on your previous approvals. If our videos had been rejected from the start, we would never have invested time and resources into making them for you. This is truly an unprofessional approach from your side.
You do not even show respect to those who were among the first creators making videos for your platform. Now, you reject all our videos with a reason that is clearly not the real reason—because you changed your goals.
We have lost more than we earned, and this unprofessional behavior from your side has led to this situation. We will mention this in all our reviews because your review team does not even show the slightest respect to provide a proper explanation for the rejections. Instead, they keep rejecting the videos one after another, even though these same videos were being approved just two months ago.
We regret working with you, and we are also deeply sorry for our team, whose hard work and efforts went unrewarded.
Global Hotel Card Con
I have just attempted to book a hotel through Global Hotel Card (Expedia) and found two problems. Firstly, the cost of the room is slightly higher than the hotel website, not by much. However, the total was £78.00 more due to taxes added on at the payment page, taxes that do not apply in the UK. The hotel is in Edinburgh , Scotland and I live in the UK which obviously includes Scotland. In this country the hotel rooms include any taxes when quoted (as on the Expedia website), but as Expedia are involved with Global Hotel Card, Expedia should be aware of the additional taxes of approximately 20% applied in my view illegally for UK users.
Update - I have contacted the company by email and received a lack lustre response. I have asked again for clarification as to why they charge taxes and fees not applicable in this country and as yet I have not had a response.
Terrible
Terrible. Bad experience. So you go to one of the expedia run websites Global Hotel Card you find a hotel to book based on the dates you enter. summary window shows your stay is for 3 nights. Great. You press book and you are shown a different price. Turns out the price is per night not per your selected dates.
Very bad. For that unaware they would get charged differently than what is shown on screen
