While our team appreciates your feedback, we were not able to confirm that you have had a student enrolled with Enlightium and must assume the experience you are describing is secondhand. However, we appreciate the opportunity to discuss our Learning Management Systems (LMS)! Enlightium students use one of two platforms: Ignitia or Canvas. Ignitia is an industry standard for online Christian students, and we encourage families considering enrolling at Enlightium to explore our 1100+ reviews on Trustpilot, many of which discuss how much they love the Ignitia curriculum and platform! Enlightium recently began offering custom courses on the Canvas platform, which offers a very user-friendly interface, comprehensive communication tools for students with teachers, and the opportunity for Enlightium’s faculty to publish a unique curriculum. As mentioned above, our students regularly report that the LMS is intuitive and easy to navigate, and the orientation process is effective in preparing them for our learning environment.

Finally, we definitely would like to point out the greatest differentiating factor between Enlightium and Connection Academy: the biblical worldview. As a private, Christian school, our curriculum and instruction are designed to instruct through a biblical lens and nurture Godly character in our students. Public school options are simply not equipped for that task.

We know that showing work in math can sometimes be a challenge since demonstrating problem-solving steps is essential for mastering the material. Our math instructors are available to offer guidance on the best ways to submit work to ensure your student’s understanding is accurately reflected.

For project submissions, file size can occasionally be an issue, especially with Turnitin’s specific requirements. To make this easier, we recommend using Google Docs through your student’s Enlightium email account and linking it directly to Turnitin. Our instructors are always available to walk students through this process, so please don’t hesitate to reach out for assistance.

We also understand that Robotel can have a bit of a learning curve for some students, but we’ve found that it also provides valuable tools for language learning, such as interactive practice and audio recording features, which allow students to engage deeply with the language. We would love to hear more specifics about the challenges you’re encountering so that we can continue improving the experience and support for all learners. Our language instructors are also available to help troubleshoot any immediate issues.

Thank you for your feedback. We understand that keeping track of information across multiple platforms can be challenging, and we’re committed to making communication clearer and more streamlined.

Most communication with parents is through the Enlightium Parents app; this allows parents to learn about updating events and new features, ask questions of staff and other families, review their student’s grades and progress, and more. Additionally, some communication is through email, such as Enlightium’s monthly newsletters and coordinating with the counselor on courses.

With the recent roll-out of student school emails, all major student-geared communication is, or will soon be, directed to student inboxes. This adjustment will help ensure that students receive essential information directly, while parents will also continue to receive an email to remain aware of offerings such as Bible studies, informational webinars, and other events. If your student hasn’t yet set up their school email, we encourage them to do so at their earliest convenience to stay informed about important updates and events. If you would like assistance with setting up their student email, please contact the Enlightium team at it@enlightiumacademy.com. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve communication.

We also appreciate your feedback concerning reading and comprehension. At Enlightium Academy, we understand that our curriculum may differ from more traditional programs. We aim to integrate reading comprehension, critical thinking, and communication skills across subjects to prepare students holistically for real-world challenges. Grading grammar in subjects like math is part of this approach; it reinforces clear and precise communication, which is essential not only in math but in all areas of life.

This strategy also aligns with our Expected Student Outcomes (ESOs), where we focus on nurturing academic excellence alongside strong written and verbal communication. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and concerns regarding the curriculum and project grading. We greatly appreciate feedback, especially from families who have been with Enlightium for so many years. Your insights are invaluable in helping us improve and serve our students better.

We understand how project grading can feel restrictive, especially when it significantly impacts a student’s overall grade. High school does indeed become more challenging as we seek to prepare students for the academic rigor and expectations they may encounter in higher education and future careers. The weighting of these projects reflects our goal of encouraging students to demonstrate not only knowledge but also critical thinking, creativity, and adherence to academic standards.
