Beautiful engine
I have not assembled it yet, because I am waiting for a few more items. Right now I am just enjoying looking at the parts because the machine work is just incredible. You really have to see these things in person to appreciate the workmanship. Laying out the parts in a glass cabinet would make a super display. Their company is also excellent to do business with and are very professional and follow through with any questions or problems..........

I purchased an engine demonstration unit from them showing each and every stroke of a combustion engine. Product came in a little over a week and it was exactly as advertised. Will definitely purchase from them again. Item gave a great visual demonstration to college students becoming pilots.

DIY Engine kit was great fun to build and test. Instructions are clear and packing and delivery was excellent. The 4 stroke 2 cylinder started in the first test itsellf without issues. The service team also respond quickly to clear any questions you have.

What a beautiful, working model of a cutaway fanjet engine. Easy to assemble (only 50 parts). High quality, perfect parts fit. Attractively pre-colored. Motorized and red-lighted exhaust, activated by a throttle on the base/stand. One of the nicest kits of this type I have ever seen.

Cison fuel barrel
I ordered 3 off these as a fuel cell for 3 model engines didn't really know if the idea would work,I got my delivery within time had plenty off communication with enginediy,and was pleasantly surprised wit the quality well made,proper usefull small barrels not just for oil or fuel,but for any liquid seeing there metal,had no leaks,dents got a screw top filler.....👏

I ordered my CISON OHV V8 along with the radiator , tachometer, mount base, motor mount, and engine accessory package.
This was my first purchase from Enginediy and I’m very pleased with the quality of their products and the level of their customer care.
All the parts in my engine kit were carefully packed, and when my engine was shipped it came 2 days early.
I am so impressed with their service and their quality of their products, I will certainly be purchasing many other products they sell from time to time in the future.

I'd like to thank the person(s), who felt accountable for the product warrenty and has taken care for resolving our claim sincerely and very, very much!!!
I received today the repalcement parts for the Retrol hm-01 engine, that was delivered damaged on 12th June and as far as I can tell,it seems the provided replacement parts are complete as listed below!
I am honest, I was really feared that things will not work out but you proved me wrong and am very pleased that you guys fullfilled your warrenty/shipping protection duty!

I'd like however give one advice for improvement, I warmly recommend you to keep people with Shipping Protection/Warrenty Claims informed about the progress for resolving any such issue. It is not easy to remain patient if no feedback/response is provided.

What howver remains missing (is overdue) from our order is the delievery of the second engine:

RETROL Antique 4-Stroke Hot-bulb Engine Simulation Horizontal Water-cooled Gasoline Tractor Engine Internal Combustion Engine Model Collection

I hope this engine will arrive soon and will be very well and safely packed such that it arrives undamaged and do not need to go through such a warenty/shipping protection claim exercise again.

If the engine will be deliebered soon and is undamaged, I am happy to further improve my rating.

Attracted by the positive image (youtube etc.) I ordered on 3rd June 2024 via the enginediy.com web-portal, as is officially recommended by retrolengine.com:
- a pre-assembled RETROL HM-01 Hit & Miss Engine with Starter Kit
- a RETROL water cooled Antique 4-Stroke Hot-bulb Engine
- a DC Generator
- Shipping Protection (supposed to “provide protection for shipments that are lost, broken, or stolen”) for USD 51,- and shipment with DHL (USD 30,-)
In total the purchase paid instantly summed to USD 1322,-.
All the ordered items are supposed to arrive to Switzerland within 7-20 business days.
The pre-assembled RETROL HM-01 arrived on 12th June 2024, but when unboxing the engine, the first thing I saw was that one of the gravity balls assembled with the Flywheel A, was aborted/broken and the spring is missing and the ball cannot be reconnected. Hence the engine cannot be tested since it is not functional (see attached photos).
I instantly sent the photos of the damaged engine to service at enginediy and was asking for replacement of the gravity ball assembly assuming the warranty/shipping protection will seamlessly replace the damaged gravity ball assembly. A day later I was asked by “Lucas” to provide the parts# according to the hm-01 manual. I replayed instantly to Lucas’ mail with the IDs and screenshots of the pieces (see attached):
007 -- "Flywheel A", mounted with the
024 -- "Gravity Ball Assembly" (assembled with both gravity balls)
023 -- "Gravity Ball Control Wheel"
025 -- "2mm Locating Steel Balls"
?? -- "Spring" in the length and eyelets at both ends to connect the tow gravity balls, then controlling the ignition trigger.
I followed up since 13th June 2024 writing numerous mails to ask for the status of providing the replacement of the flywheel-gravity-ball assembly.
Noone bothers to respond or instruct when and how things will proceed (i.e. by when) and no replacement parts were sent to us until now. We need the engine urgently for a demonstration for a school project of my son and are becoming desperate what to do.
On 28th June the ordered DC Generator arrived, which we can not test since the hm-01 remains broken.
One month (20 working days) since my order was confirmed and I also asked several times when the other RETROL water cooled Antique 4-Stroke Hot-bulb Engine will be delivered. No response what so ever and am getting nervous if and when it will be delivered and who knows it may be damaged again.
Damages may happen, but it is unacceptable that people do not resolve warranty/shipping protection claims, I paid for and I instantly provided evidence for by means of photos.
It appears that Retrol and EngineDIY invest in manufacturing and in marketing and do not bother to provide support to resolve damages. This is a real pity since the hm-01 looks like a nice piece otherwise. So far we are very disappointed and do not know if we will receive the replacement parts and the second engine we ordered. I think people should be honest and recommend to by 2 engines, such that replacement parts are available and only accept orders for those engines that are in stock. We are sincerely hoping that things will be resolved but are afraid that noone feels accountable.
EngineDIY does not disclose customer reviews with low ratings (one or two stars) on their website.

This is my second engine directly from CISON. My first was the V2 15.7cc Harley Davidson Engine and now the Chevy small block V8. Both, I am very pleased with because both came directly from the manufacturer in China and the price compared to buying them in the U.S. is much cheaper directly from China. Customer service is absolutely great! I hope you are lucky enough to speak with Lucas! You can usually get a response very quickly. My experience has been within 24 hours! I first contacted CISON about a Hall sensor that went bad on my V2 engine. I had the sensor in my hand about 10 days later straight from China. My second experience was for instructions to assemble the V8 in English. I was immediately sent assembly instructions in Chinese that Lucas said would be converted to English and sent to me later. I actually converted the instructions to English and sent them back to CISON before they could do it! I simply used adobe to convert the document to word format in Chinese and then converted Chinese to English! They were very appreciative to me beating them to the punch. I am still in the process of assembling the V8 and will post videos to YouTube immediately when finished. These model engines are a real work of art and very mind blowing! Today I demonstrated the Harley Davidson engine to automotive students at my school and they were totally blown away that it actually runs..... myself and the instructor showed the partially assembled V8 engine to the students and they can't believe something that small and realistic actually work and runs! They wanted to hold the block! The price you pay for these engines is small compared to the WoW!!! you get from future automotive technicians. My plans are to purchase another one and donate it to the school. These things are great conversation pieces, fun to work on and even great to just look at! I love my purchases from CISON because they're trustworthy, reliable and better to purchase from than local. I ordered a little air cooled petrol hit and miss Oddball engine. Received my order very soon end very well packed. The M96 Mini Horizontal Air-Cooled Single-Cylinder 4-Stroke Oddball Hit and Miss Gas Engine runs very good right out of the box.

They are all over you when they smell a sale, but when there is a problem, nobody helps you. They are just resellers of products, and their English is atrocious. Truthfully, bad reviews are deleted. I'm still waiting for parts from over a year ago. Stay away from this place. Go to Sterlingkit, Unlike these people, they actually answer your emails and concerns. Here, you only lose money!

In 2023 I pre-ordered a Retrol HM-01 hit and miss engine from Enginediy which I knew would take a couple of months for delivery because it was still in pre production. I was happy to wait and I was kept informed of progress and expected delivery. It duly arrived very well packed and beautifully made. This was my first attempt at building an engine but it went together perfectly. The instructions were mainly pictorial and a little more written description would have helped but all my questions were promptly answered by their excellent service department. I have been running this engine for four months now and I’m delighted with the design and quality. I would certainly recommend Enginediy and will be using them again.

They don’t respond to emails regarding their product once they have your money. I purchased 2 engines from them and they both don’t work. Don’t waste your money here

Recently received my ENJOMOR V12 Engine GS-V12 from ENGINEDIY and as usual the service and communication was excellent. I bought the V12 on pre order, something I would not normally do due to the sum of money, but had no hesitating based on the service I received on my ENJOMOR V8 last year. The ordering process was easy, tracking info was timely, and engine was packed carefully.
I incorrectly thought a component was missing and contacted customer service. They quickly responded with directions to find the part in my kit.

Fantastic! This is the 4th project I've purchased from EngineDIY and I have enjoyed each and everyone. The Rotary 5 Cylinder, the Fighter Jet Engine, the V8 Flat Plane Crankshaft Engine and now the Turbofan Jet Engine. This particular model project is made from all metal parts with precision fitment and provides 20+ hours of assembly enjoyment. All of these projects are in lighted displays in my home and are enjoyed by friends and family. Especially noteworthy is all these models "run" by rechargable battery. Watching pistons, gears, propellers and machine parts move is awesome! I've been purchasing from this outfit for 4 years and look forward to future kits.
