HIGHLY Recommend Looking Elsewhere For An SMS Platform

Is there an option for 0 stars? We originally chose this platform for it's compatibility with Shopify. After a few months of using the platform, we realized it wasn't fitting our needs and the cost was way higher than they originally led on.

After transitioning to a new platform, we contacted Emotive to cancel our account in which our contract was ending the next month. We were told that we "missed our window" to cancel and would instead still have to pay for another 12 MONTHS of a contract that HADN'T EVEN STARTED YET. Their contract has no legitimate cancellation clause as there isn't actually the option to "cancel at anytime" like they lead you to believe. This cannot possibly be legal.

After consistently telling them we would not be continuing our contract and informing them that we would get our legal team involved, there was no useful response from their CS or Management. Only that they wanted to work with us to make our experience better for the next 12 months. Even after a phone call with their manager who agreed that personally he doesn't agree with their requirement, we were told we have to pay for an inefficient, ineffective service for the next 12 months.

They would rather have our relationship end on an incredibly sour note with highly disappointed customers than ensure that their customers have been satisfied with their service.

We will never be doing business with Emotive again and we HIGHLY recommend that you don't either.

Avoid this company

Avoid this company! Costs way more than you may expect and after canceling with them and was told many times I wouldn't be billed as we have had difficult year, there billing department is relentlessly trying to bill me every month all year.

They’re suing a disabled woman

*UPDATE: Now they're coming after me for writing this review.

I cannot possibly say enough that if you’re a small business, do NOT use this horrendous company. I decided to close my business for health reasons as I’m a disabled Autistic adult, and this company didn’t “believe” me and continued to charge me thousands of dollars I could not afford, even after I asked repeatedly for cancellations. They “renewed” my contract without my knowledge, and now months later they’re trying to sue me for a years worth of a program I didn’t even use in the last months of my first year contract. They are disgusting, going after a small business owned by a disabled woman. On top of all that, their product is ineffective and trash. Stay clear!

SCAM! Deceptive company. Contract was fake

Emotive is literally the WORSE and SKETCHIEST COMPANY you'll ever deal with for a saas company. They make you sign a 1-year contract that Literally has missing parts!

Their sales agent also literally lied point plank about several things including the fact that there are no other fees than the SMS/MMS fees and never said anything about a $500 minimum. This was also left out of the contract. Then they want to enforce it and won't stop charging your card regardless. They left out that there is a $500 minimum monthly spend!! Then they also left out the cancellation clause. A contract without a cancellation clause?? If that's not the most disgusting and unethical thing you've heard of for a "legit" business, I don't know what is.

DO NOT WORK WITH THEM. THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE THEIR OWN POP-UP. Their support is completely nonexistent and unhelpful.

I can go on and on but I've learned that anytime they want to lock you into a long contract, it's usually because it's an extremely bad service that THEY KNOW people don't want to keep using.

Save yourself the headache and go with Postscript, Klaviyo, Attentive or literally anyone else...

Emotive make me sign a contract for 1…

Emotive make me sign a contract for 1 year, wich i said I wont sign for a year, they are so pushy. After 20 days I said this is now working for us, and they keep billing my credit card, even months in advance, I cancel my credit card, A year after still calling me 3 times a week,
NEVER SIGN WITH THEM !!

After almost 2 years they keep sending emails asking for pay the full contract ! Now they send me emails to delete my reviews, this is insane ! If you are super successful stop bother people that do not want anything from you ! And I have all the emails that prove what I am said here ! Please stop I won’t delete my review.

They trap you. Stay away.

Their sales team is not ethical. When they sold us the service, the salesperson kept saying that we can cancel any month. However, the actual situation is that we can cancel any month AS LONG AS WE PAY THE REST OF THE 12 MONTHS. Make sure you read the terms very carefully. It's referring to a different webpage hosted on their website, which is subject to change anytime.

In addition to the problems above, Emotive stores our payment information without our authorization. Having been alerted by us, they removed our credit card information once but later continued to store the new payment info without our authorization. They initiated the charges whenever they wanted, even if we kept trying to dispute them. Horrible experience!

Yes they trap you into a contract and their service sucks. I ended up paying for a whole extra year of service that I did not use because the service was so bad yet they bill me every 3 months for $600. What a scam.

Emotive offered me a free trial and tricked me into signing a 6 month contract that scammed me out of thousands of dollars. If this has happened to you please contact me (same name on social media)

What a scam company

What a scam company! Emotive! I don't know how this company is NOT shut down.... they trap you up in a contract (they don't even send you the full contract details and you have their onboarding employees telling you, you can leave at any time..SO NOT TRUE! Don't believe a word they say!). This horrible company stole $12,000 from me when I never used their services during the months I told them to shut down Emotive because they were doing a very bad job. They were NOT helping me grow my business.. Job quality is horrible! They trap you in a contract, they do not help your business grow, and they charge you an arm and a leg for doing absolutely nothing! STAY AWAY if you don't want to hand over your hard earned money to these fools.. I hope they get shut down.

Emotive needs to be exposed

I usually stay away from writing reviews, because as a small business owner myself, I know how damaging a negative review can be to a company's sales and reputation. However, I feel it's my duty to warn other customers about Emotive's deceptive practices. They are by far the worst company that I have ever worked with in my business journey. First, they initially mislead you with their pricing, which is far more expensive than other platforms. And then when you finally subscribe to their platform, they mercilessly hound you in order to try to upsell you on their other services. Also, when you sign up, they assign you to an account manager, who they say is supposed to help you navigate their platform and give you advice on sending out sms campaigns. But their job is really to force you to send out a many campaigns as possible, because Emotive charges you extra for every campaign that you send out. On top of that, their technology is faulty. I emailed them numerous times about some of my customers not receiving sms's that I had sent out, and they weren't able to resolve the issue. Till this day, I'm not even sure if my SMS was reaching my full list of subscribers, but you can bet that I was charged for my full list. Lastly, when I finally has enough and was ready to cancel with them, they made it a nightmare. I tried to cancel 2 weeks before my 6 month term was over (They lock you in for 6 months), and first they tried to force me into staying by withholding my subscriber list. That's another thing, they do not allow you to download your own subscriber list directly from their platform. You have to email them to ask for your own acquired data! I believe they do this to force you to talk to them before you can actually cancel, which is what happened to be. After I accused them of illegal practices, they released my subscriber list, but still charged me another $600 term renewal fee, even though I canceled 2 weeks prior to my term renewing. When I asked them to refund me the fee, they said that they wouldn't refund me because I should have canceled 1 month in advance to avoid the renewal fee. Luckily, I was able to put in a claim with my bank and get my money back, plus I put a stop payment on their company for any future charge attempts. That was about 3 months ago, and just today I got an email from them saying that they tried to charge my card for ANOTHER $600, but luckily my bank stopped the payment from going through! The fact that this company hasn't been fully exposed on the internet is baffling to me. If you notice, they purposely do not have a Shopify app, because then they would be subject to Shopify reviews. They also are not enrolled in Google Reviews, because they are trying to avoid accountability. Instead, they have a bunch of paid reviews on paid review sites only. Thank God for Trustpilot. I hope more businesses find Emotive io's trust pilot page, before they get sucked into a contract with such a deceptive company.

Be very careful with Emotive esp their free trial offer. They offered a free trial with their conversational ads but once we started they said they could only do the free trial once we converted to a paying customer. I am pretty sure that is fraud and misrepresentation. Stay away!

Please do never suscribe if you are not sure this will work for you ! Your subscription will be never cancel ! If you even delete them or send thousand mails asking for cancel this service! This is beyond ridicule you have to pay even if you don’t want to use the service anymore. They will try to pursue that you need this app! I don’t recommend this app to anybody, unless you want lose your money ! They are so pushy at the beginning to sign a contract, that you will never CAN GET IF OFF ! If they have so many clients happy why they need still charge the others that are not Happy !! Horrible service and hiding lots of…

Horrible service and hiding lots of issues on there app. I think they are trying to go public so they keep hiding issues:
1) They asked me to fill the 10DLC form and 3 months later they haven't followed up with status, i inquired an they said it's still not done.
2) I keeping sending many texts to my customer lists but many of them don't go to the customer. i follow up with the customer to see if they received it they said they don't. emotive still charges you though.
3) They also billed me double on my account.
4) The form that gets e-mails and sign ups breaks many times so you can't even get texts from customers.

EMOTIVE: Probably the shadiest company I have ever come across in my life. I am not the type to put these messages out there and put down another business but some companies need to be exposed. , If you ever receive an email or message, add it to your junk folder. If you see an ad claiming a "Free Trial" report it. These criminals have stolen over $12,000 (at least) from my company under the guise of a "free trial" that you cannot get out of... BEWARE!

Desperate

These people are some of the most desperate human beings I've ever seen. I got so many emails from different reps over the past few months. I'm not even sure how they got all my email addresses and phone numbers but when I ask them to stop and a few months later another rep starts emailing multiple times. The most recent Emotive rep emailed 4 times and even called until I finally had enough and responded back telling her to stop contacting me the desperation is beyond pathetic.

Ridiculous terms and shady business practive.

I would never work with this company or recommend them to anyone. They do not work with you to clean up dead weight on your list and only try to get more customer sign ups on sms so that they can charge you more. I brought this up on many occasions and it was told to me that it would be looked into. Now I am trying to cancel and they have a ridiculous cancelation policy. I like to work with companies that are flexible and fair. They are expensive and greedy.
