Dean W. and Dean Foster are horrible!
Administrative staff are so unprofessional! My son was expelled after making one mistake. He was a student there for 2 years and no infractions. It basically comes down to another child’s version and my son’s. They just took the other child’s statement as 100% accurate, giving my son no chance to really sit down and tell his side. He was aggressively asked by the male Dean Foster about what he said, my son felt intimidated and gave a vague recount. Because of that, he now has to start at a different school with different peers in the middle of his 8th grade year. They have labeled my son as threatening the life of a staff member, when the context of what he said was about disappointment in not being in his favorite teacher’s class after the teacher returned from leave. They did not call us parents to the school the day it happened, and my son finished out the school day. If he was indeed as threatening as you say, why do that?? We were called and told that he was suspended on Thursday evening, told that we would receive a call on Friday or Monday, and be included in the determination of punishment process. Tuesday arrives, and it took a concerned teacher to find out for us that they had already made the decision to expel. I tried to have 2 conversations with Dean W. She is unprofessional, arrogant, and rude. She hung up on me not to long into the second conversation after making sure to laugh and snicker at my concerns. I mean, when I answered the phone for the second conversation, her first words were “do you still want to have this conversation?” with all kinds of attitude mixed in. No concern, compassion, empathy, professionalism…..nothing. Like I was wasting her time. She just kept referring to this zero tolerance policy for violence, which I agree with 100% in cases of a real threat. Like the bullying that goes on at the school that they don’t seem concerned with? But they expelled my child for a comment that was no real threat, and the child that told on my son said “it was for his own good”?? The staff relayed that bit of priceless information to my son. With all that being said, we are probably better off. It just sickens me to see the emotional devastation that my son is going through. He has a fairly recent diagnosis of ADHD, and suffers from social anxiety. Having to start a brand new school is scary right now. His dad and I love him so much, and we think he is an amazing kid. We are behind him. Too bad the same couldn’t be said for the other adults in his life. Parents beware of this school!!!
