We used Embryo to manage our Google and Bing Ads for two years, with five-figure monthly ad spend and a £2,500 monthly retainer that increased with spend.
Luke was straightforward to deal with and the day-to-day work was competent. Our issue was value. They inherited an established account we already knew well, and after two years the main performance target we had set with them was still not achieved. For the fee, it felt more like expensive account maintenance than the step forward we had engaged them to deliver.
When we decided to leave, Embryo applied a further two-month notice period, despite the 12-month minimum term having passed. Given the length and value of the relationship, and the fact that the central target had never been reached, that felt unnecessarily rigid and left a poor final impression.
They may suit a business that wants a retained team to manage an established account. Less so if you are paying a substantial retainer for measurable growth or expect some commercial flexibility when the initial term has ended.
