Nichts gelernt

Nach einem Anruf, bei dem wir extra auf die mangelhafte Verpackung hingewiesen hatten, bekamen wir auf Kulanz Ersatz zugeschickt, bei dem allerdings genau dasselbe passiert war, da wieder kein Polstermaterial verwendet wurde - Schwache Kür!

Poor quality, low standards

I have bought around 6 of the Voss Sonic units and currently, only one is left working. I emailed Customer Service today and the response was that they can do nothing, and the unit lifespan is only 2 years! That's terrible quality and therefore awful value for money. I will not be using the Voss brand any more, and will now source products elsewhere due to electric-fence.co.uk's low standards. I'm actuary really disappointed and recommend that customers shop elsewhere for better quality/lifespan products.

I ordered some bird nest boxes and they sent me a hay net. Tried numerous times to phone to sort this out but they just don't have anyone answering the phone. I got a reply to an e mail, but not a definite delivery date, so I cancelled the order.

Very poor quality product, not fit for purpose

I have battled on for just over two months but I have to to finally give up on the plastic ‘Poultry Netting' I bought from Voss.

My first disappointment is the way they mis-lead customers by operating from a .CO.UK web address when they are apparently based in Germany. Using a UK domain address leads people to think that they are based in the UK

A bigger disappointment is the actual quality of the Poultry Netting. It has proved to be useless at keeping my chickens in and also for keeping other animals out. Large sections of the bottom of the netting have been damaged/eaten giving my hens free access to the outside world.

This was a complete waste of the £113.99 I paid them and I am going to have to spend even more money buying something more substantial.

In future I will check more carefully that companies I buy from online are reputable and are based here in the UK.

Satisfied customer

My experience in ordering some electric fencing was mostly very good. In particular, the advice I received when telephoning with a question about exactly what to order was first-class. The person I spoke to demonstrated a detailed knowledge of the products and their use and was able to direct me to the items I needed by quoting a part number that I could see online whilst on the phone.

The delivery itself arrived with all items included although the outer packaging was slightly damaged. The products themselves seem to be of good quality and represent good value for money.

The main downside is the delivery time from Germany. The website states 3-8 working days: my order arrived on the ninth day. There was, however plenty of communication about the order status so this wasn’t a problem for me. I think the website could make it clearer that the order will be coming from Germany and that delivery times are not always predictable.

The other minor point was that my credit card issuer thought paying Voss was fraudulent transaction and blocked my card! But that was probably because I don’t usually buy anything from Germany.

Overall, I would recommend this company on the basis of value for money and product knowledge - provided you don’t need the order urgently.

VOSS EF avoid if buying from UK

EDIT AFTER RESPONSE FROM EF:
Yes packages have just arrived, technically 8 days after order.
The issue here as others are experiencing is the poor customer services, communication etc.
A call centre number that is hardly manned based in Quay Street Gloucester is not appropriate for a company such as Voss Framing and the goods they sell.
I called , managed to speak to some one who CATEGORICALLY stated it would be with me Mon afternoon or at very latest Tuesday morning.
That was wrong and left me with a bad feeling, concerns and worry over whether the package would arrive.
That is the point here.
1. Up your customer service to 5 stars and you will get 5 stars reviews.
2. Change your couriers or have discussions with them on the process. UPS features a lot in the "bad" reviews"
As for the goods, yet to unbox and check over.
Review updated to 2 stars, but I stand by the bad experience I have had.

Ok, I should have looked at reviews before placing an order, caught with the marketing (You tube etc) .... Placed order 11 days ago, 8th Sept 2023... £760 so not insignificant incl £36 delivery charges...
Waited patiently a few days and then order ships or so I thought .. UPS apparently had it held in Germany since the 14th as it "cleared after scheduled transport departed" ... watched that for a few days and no change... managed to call them on uk number yesterday to chase up what was going on, spoke to what I presume was a German employee who assured me categorically that it would be arriving yesterday or today at latest despite the UPS tracking system stating otherwise - "they are showing incorrect information and we have had this before with UPS" - my head was telling me I don't believe you and UPS being a global logistics company won't have it wrong... then as if by magic today UPS shows it as no planned delivery date or time ... and suprise, suprise, no response from the UK phone number ... have emailed, but answer as yet ...
If you want a quality service do not buy here, if you want clear, honest and accurate information from customer services avoid.
I just hope that either the goods turn up very soon or I can get through and arrange a full refund. Otherwise I will be out of pocket by a considerable amount of money.

Don't expect fast shipping

Further edit - it's now the 23rd, I was refused a refund, I said I'll get one through my bank as it hadn't even been shipped yet, they have sent it anyway (their loss I guess). Says it should be delivered today but isn't actually anywhere near a local depot YET.AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!! EDIT FOR UPDATE: 6days in they haven't shipped yet so it won't make the 8days delivery even if you include weekends. Another company have agreed the same price and delivery within a few days so it will probably arrive before this is even dispatched. I was told yesterday morning it was packed and ready to go... This morning I was told it magically missed the van and will be sent tomorrow (day 7). So if you need your products this side of Christmas I wouldn't shop here. I've asked for a refund and gone to another company. I ordered something from Australia the same day and it's arriving today so it has nothing to do with it being in Germany!

Don't expect fast shipping, 5days in they haven't actually shipped it yet. They did respond to my email to say it would be shipped today but as its coming from Germany I am probably going to have to just buy from elsewhere in the meantime as I have some escapee ducklings. It does say fast shipping on their website which I was happy about but they don't actually ship fast at all

thank you for your review and I am very sorry your order arrived late. You placed the order with us on the 11th of August with a delivery time of up to eight business days. This meant the order was due to arrive by the 23rd of August.

Having checked the status of your order I see it was delivered to you on the 24th of August, the ninth business day. I appreciate this wasn't within the eight business days quoted, but I feel an order arriving a day late doesn't warrant "AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!"

Having read through the emails you sent in I also see, you weren't refused a refund at any point. You were advised we were unable to cancel the order as it had already been packed and we were unable to prevent a delivery being attempted. You were then advised the order could either be refused at the door or, if you did take receipt of it, we would be able to issue you with postage paid returns labels to allow the order to be sent back to us free of charge but at no point were you refused a refund.

Again, I am sorry for the delay with your order but feel delivering an order a day late doesn't warrant a one star review.

I've spent a week now trying to contact…

I've spent a week now trying to contact them through their phone number and the call gets cut off. I've had no response to my email either so it makes me think this company no longer exists. I will try again on Monday but if that fails I will go through my bank to report them as a scam/ fraud company. I highly recommend not using this company and seek products from a different website. The prices might seem attractive but I wish I spent a bit more somewhere else.

You emailed us on the Friday and we responded on the Monday, as our offices aren't open on weekends, emails from Friday will at times not be answered until the following Monday.

You placed an order with us on the 1st of August and emailed us on the 4th of August. I understand it was frustrating not being able to reach us on the phone but between 1st and 4th of August was only three days and we did respond to your email within our quoted time-frame of one working day.

I see the order has now been cancelled and refunded for you.

Worst Ag company I've ever used

Worst Ag company I've ever used. Order was to be shipped from Germany, even though no mention of that on their site (told it is on their site but search showed nothing). Then told the shipping will be delayed and I asked for the order to be cancelled.

Still waiting on the refund and about to raise Paypal complaint. Customer support just didn't care too.

thank you for your review. Our address is shown in various areas of our website. We also state that no customs and duties will need to be paid which should also make it clear the order is coming from outside of the UK.

You placed an order with us on 24th July. We advised you on 26th July there would be a delay and on 27th July you requested a refund. You received confirmation from us on 28th July that we would refund you and the refund would take 2-4 business days to be completed by our accounts team. On the second business day you decided to open a PayPal case but opened the claim for the incorrect amount which led to the delay. Had you waited the time we had quoted, the refund would have gone through smoothly and you would have received it, but as you opened a claim for a different amount than the refund, our accounts team contacted customer service to clarify what the correct refund amount was.

All emails from you were answered either same or next day explaining exactly what the issue was. It wasn't a case of customer support not caring, it was a case of customer support not being able to do anything as only you were able to correct the PayPal case.

I see the PayPal case has been closed and the correct amount has now been refunded.

The delivery is awful

The delivery is awful. I was quoted 3-8 days for a delivery that I payed £12.99 for and it took 21 days for it to arrive.
When I emailed they couldn’t do anything to help and lied by saying they are switching away from UPS at the end of the month (they haven)

Their website is full of lies. NOT Quick delivery, immediate warehouse stock.

All the metal elements of every product rust within 2 weeks even if they’re galvanised. The plastic on every product fades VERY quickly.

thank you for your review. You placed your order with us on 16th May and it was delivered on 31st May. The 29th of May was a bank holiday meaning the order was delivered after 10 working days. Whilst I agree that is outside of the 8 working days quoted, it is far from 21 days.

I have taken a look at the correspondence you had with our customer service team via email and you were advised "we are in the process of changing our couriers" but you weren't advised this would be in place by the end of the month. We are still in the process of changing couriers, however, this is a phased process so doesn't happen overnight.

If you are unhappy with the quality of our products, I would ask you to contact our customer service team with pictures of the issues you have highlighted and it can be looked into for you as we have not received any further complaints of the products you purchased from us rusting or fading within a few weeks.

Appalling delivery

Ordered 5 July, despatched (according to them!) on 18 July, but still not arrived by today, 21 July.
Website says "Warehouse stock immediately available" and "quick despatch"!
Not really clear on website that the warehouse is not in the UK and certainly little evidence of German efficiency!!!
I like their products but this is very poor.
UPDATE:
FINALLY ARRIVED TODAY (25 JULY) BUT MISSING A PART WHICH HAD CLEARLY FALLEN OUT AS SO BADLY WRAPPED.

thank you for your review and I am sorry for the delay. We did email you on 10th July to advise of the delay with your order and what the reason for the delay was but never received a response from you.

Our warehouse address in Germany is stated on the website, we also state that there will be no customs or import costs when ordering from us, which also makes it clear that the order is coming from outside of the UK, and, when you entered your card details to pay, our full address in Germany was also shown to you. We feel it is made very clear that the order is coming from outside of the UK.

I would ask you to contact our customer service team, if you haven't already, and they will be able to send out a replacement for any missing parts of your order.

Where are my goods ?

The item I ordered showed as being in stock with delivery in 3 - 8 working days. I placed my order on 25th June and by the 6th working day there was no indication of any progress.
The parcel ultimately arrived on the morning of the 10th working day. Why can't they just say delivery in 7 - 10 days.

Delivery time longer than stated and no one to speak to when phone

Item ordered stated 3 to 8 business days for delivery 3 to 8 weeks would be nearer the truth. Customer Service keep telling you it will be dispatched following day!! It won't be!!
When item arrived was good quality and am pleased with it.

Cat scarers with solar charging.

I have bought many cat scarers from Voss electric-fence over the past few years since they used to sell them on Amazon.co.uk.
After my first two orders, both for two units, I started to buy them direct from Voss. Not that they are particularly cheaper, but I haven't found them on Amazon recently.
These cat scarers are slightly different to others as they can solar charge in sunlight. That saves on buying batteries or having multiple electric cables - we currently have five scarers at the back (facing south) and one at the front. Saving on battery purchases is therefore an important thing when I choose a cat scarer. Solar charging is a good idea but it also means that rain can easily get inside the cat scarer.
As a result, like many cat scarers these don't last. Some will last for a year and some will last for a bit longer. All of ours have now been upgraded to the latest model and all are under one year old. I shall be watching carefully to see if any fail before they are a year old because one once did so and, to their credit, Voss replaced it with no quibble.
My main grumble is the time it takes them to send stuff after payment. For some reason it takes them 4 days to package them and buy the courier label. Once UPS get the parcel then they deliver it in a timely manner but I'm uncomfortable with a supposedly UK company having my money for "up to 8 days" when they seem to take so more of that time than they need to in picking and packing it. In my humble opinion it should not take 4 days to put 2 cat scarers into a mailing box that fits them perfectly, before buying a mailing label. They could easily have them already boxed up and ready for mailing as there is a small price reduction for buying two at one time.
The packing process could be improved.
Meanwhile my north facing front lawn has had to suffer because my previous Voss cat scarer failed.
At least I now have one spare that I can slot in when the next one fails.

AVOID - dont be fooled by prices - Terrible customer service ordered…

Terrible customer service ordered products and been waiting 3 weeks for delivery supposed to be 4 days! Their reply eventually got email asking if wanted to cancel or wait 'up to me'

NO PHONES EITHER ... only comms is email and they take ages to answer AVOID

thank you for your review. I have taken a look at the order you placed with us and between ordering and you leaving your review were nine days. You placed the order on 21st May and left the review stating you had been waiting three weeks on 30th May. Nine days is not even close to three weeks. Our delivery time is up to eight business days, nowhere do we quote a delivery time of four days.

On the 25th May we emailed you advising that one of the products you had ordered was unfortunately out of stock and that it was not due back in until the 16th June and whether you would be able to wait this long for your order or would prefer to cancel. You replied saying you were happy to wait.

On the 29th of May you then contacted us again regarding splitting your order and this resulted in seven emails being sent to us in total, all of which were answered either the same day or the next day depending on the time of day you sent us the email.

On the 30th May you then emailed us requesting we cancel and refund the order. The order was then cancelled and refunded and your email was answered within five minutes of you contacting us and requesting the refund.

The next day on 31st May you then emailed us again requesting we amend the order, at this point it was too late as we had already cancelled and refunded the order as you had requested. Again, we responded to this email from you on the same day.

Based on the email responses you have received from us, I would have to disagree that a same or next day answer is "taking ages" our phone line is also available Monday to Friday 9am - 3pm. Our only method of comms is not email.

I appreciate the frustration and possible inconvenience caused due to us not being able to fulfil the order, but the review you left does not reflect the experience you had with us as a customer at all.

Don't expect a delivery any time soon.

I ordered 1 roll of stock fencing with 5-8 working day delivery option. It's been 21 days now and I'm still waiting.

Customer service is not helpful if you can even get a response on the phone (I hung up after 47mins on hold) or several emails (8 days to get a response).

I finally got an update on where my order was (Germany it turns out), parcel tracking information and an email response from customer services after posting this bad review.

Fingers crossed for the returns procedure to be better.

I am sorry you haven't yet received your order. Our delivery time is up to eight working days not five. Three days after you placed your order an email was sent out to you advising the item you ordered would be delayed due to an issue we were having in our warehouse.

Since then we have received two emails from you. The first was answered the next day and the second was answered the same day. It can be difficult at times to get hold of us on the phone, but emails are always answered promptly. All emails we have received from you have been answered within one working day.

The order has been shipped and is due to arrive either today or tomorrow. I am sorry for the delay with the order and for the inconvenience it has caused but having looked at the order, I would disagree with your comments and have to say our customer service team has always responded in a timely manner and has been helpful.

Wish I had read the reviews in first instance.
Bought the autumn leaves bird table for 90 birthday present. After payment I thought I would just check about the delivery of the supposed “in stock” item and delivery of 3- 8 days.
Well the phone call didn’t go well at all. The item is in stock but in Germany!!!
It then gets shipped to GB then the delivery begins and they can’t guarantee delivery.
So disappointing. Ensure the delivery dates etc prior to you ordering. I have went through PayPal to raise my complaint.

thank you for your review. All of our stock is held in Germany that is correct, but the delivery time doesn't begin when the item reaches the UK. The delivery time quoted on our website of up to eight business days is the time it takes to deliver from the point of ordering. The order is shipped from our warehouse in Germany directly to the customer and we can of course guarantee delivery. Why would we not be able to guarantee delivery?

Your order was placed on 8th of May. You then contacted us on the same day requesting a cancellation and a refund, which we agreed to, and then shortly after, you opened a PayPal claim. There was no reason to open a claim after we had agreed to cancel and refund the order.

I am unsure as to what was so disappointing for you. You placed an order which you cancelled the same day. You have had no experience with our shipping or products. In fact, you were able to submit an order with no issues and were able to cancel and have the order refunded with no issues. I don't know what we could have done differently or better given the circumstances.
