A total rip-off.
Spent £4250 to have my inverter replaced last September which I was told by their representative needed doing. Now the system is not functioning at all well and there seems to be no way to contact Dynacell.
I am very unhappy and would recommend not using this company if it still exits.

It's been one whole year now since I had some work done by these cowboys and my refund has still not been paid. Now the phones aren't being answered or emails being returned.

DYNACELL scammers
I was contacted by DYNACELL last January had a new inverter installed and paid for then the phone calls started with details of work deemed necessary to my system which I paid for over the phone £1000’s of pounds which was to be covered by grants most work not done and repayments promised month after month but not received. Today rang office number no longer in use.
No contact number for company
Would love to know how to contact this company as all contact information displayed is invalid.
I am acting as executor for my friend who recently died. I know nothing about solar systems but could see lights flashing on the equipment. Tried to contact company by using the phone number and email address printed on an invoice for replacement panels fitted in July last year - there was a 10 year guarantee certificate attached. Have not been able to make contact, so absolutely no idea if the system is working properly or, if it is, how much surplus energy is being created and how and where is money owed sent. Any advice welcomed. The property is in Somerset.
Dynacell, worst company ever
Dynacell took over from my sonar supplier. They sold me a service plan which was a lot of money. My system doesn't work now and I can't get in touch with Dynacell, there phone number doesn't exist and there email doesn't seem to work as I get it rejected. I would like a refund but can't find anyone to ask as all the equipment I have is just taking up space as it does not work. I would not recommend this company to anyone, they rip you off and don't fix any problems with your system.
Please avoid this company! #scambags
Sadly I am on the long list of people whose elderly parents have been preyed on by Dynacell.
My parents, both well into their eighties, were advised they needed to upgrade their software which strangely showed two panels not functioning when they logged in with the new credentials. Ordered (and paid for) replacement panels as advised, but then tried old password out of interest, to find everything was working fine. Cancelled the visit, so no work was completed, and requested a refund, which was duly promised.
That was more than 6 months ago!
The ever-polite and positive Sue on reception claims to know nothing, the mystical Phil in accounts is either incompetent or (more likely) dishonest and the pain of months of constantly chasing the empty promises of refund payment is draining the whole family.
If anyone from the long list of people that is getting ripped off has succeeded in getting their money back, please share the secret!
Anyone new to Dynacell or approached by them for “upgrades” on their solar system: hang up and find someone trustworthy from Trustpilot or other platform.
Do NOT believe a word Gary Fox tells…
Do NOT believe a word Gary Fox tells you. I have an email from Dynacell dated 19 Feb 2025 asking for my bank details so that they can instigate a refund for £5000 which " will take 7 to 10 days." There is no dispute about the fact that they do owe me ( a 93 year old woman) a refund of £5,000. The latest of numerous promises was last week when he assured me I would receive the money yesterday. It is still not in my bank account.
After countless other broken promises since February I have waited long enough and am now about to begin court proceedings. He is a disgrace so please steer clear of this dishonourable firm. There are many other honest ones about so beware of Dynacell.
Dynacell winding up
Important update for anyone chasing Dynacell - the company has entered into voluntary liquidation. They owe nearly £500k..... If you are owed money please ensure that you contact the liquidator - Voscap Limited.
My elderly mother was harassed by numerous sales calls which became incredibly aggressive over a 3 month period. I have carried out research and there are lots of anomalies with this business... no accounts filed - frequently changing registered address..
Avoid!!

Word of warning for anyone chasing Dynacell.
Gary Fox is not the person responsible, it’s just a name used by Jonathan Wilson.
So if going to the authorities I would advise including this information.

Scaffold companies - avoid this company
Still waiting for an invoice to be paid
No answer to daily emails we send
Called only to be told they need to check if works completed and will call me back - no call back
Scaffold has been up for over a month
When I call to follow up call is diverting after 2 rings - call on another number and they answer
To add to this I called today and they called me expletives down the phone - wholly unprofessional set up
Claimed that I was due to get paid today but because I wrote this they said they were not paying it, if they were planning on paying me they would have replied to the daily emails I have been sending - we still do not know if the panels have been fitted but will liase with the customer to remove the scaffold
They did not do the work we paid for…
They did not do the work we paid for and have not returned our money after many promised to do so.
Warning to Others
I am an elderly man, nearly 80 years old, and both my wife and I are blind. Back in May, a representative from Dynacell came to my home claiming there was a fault with my solar panels. He went under the stairs where the system is located, and shortly after told me that a “power cut” had damaged my inverter and that I needed a new one — at a cost of £4,999.99. Trusting what he said, I signed a contract.
The very next day, my existing solar provider inspected the system and confirmed that my panels were absolutely fine — the inverter had simply been switched off. I believe this was done deliberately by Dynacell’s representative to deceive me and take advantage of my vulnerability as a blind, elderly man.
I immediately exercised my legal right to cancel within the 14-day cooling-off period, and I never received any equipment or service from them. However, Dynacell still took nearly £5,000 from me and, despite months of emails and promises, they have not returned it. I have been told multiple excuses (“systems down”, “monthly payment runs”) but five months later I am still out of pocket.
When a friend called on my behalf, the company representative (a man named Andy) was rude, aggressive, and dismissive. I even received an email confirming a refund would be made by 29th August — but nothing ever arrived.
This has caused immense stress to me and my wife, both of us blind pensioners, and has had a serious impact on our mental health.
I want to warn others: in my experience Dynacell have behaved dishonestly, aggressively, and without any compassion. They took thousands of pounds from me for equipment I never received, and continue to withhold my money months later. Please think very carefully before trusting this company.
Not to be trusted…
It is very rare that I ever write negative reviews, I’m not that sort of person, I always like to see the positives however for the past ten months I have deeply regretted ever having had anything to do with Gary Fox and Dynacell and feel compelled now to share my experience.
Initially things appeared to be okay and the team who replaced our inverter and added a battery were fine. However, things started to go downhill from there, when I discovered from the installation manual that the battery should NOT be installed and confined to a small place like a loft as it was a fire risk, so I switched the battery off and asked to have it removed. Emails followed phone calls, to say I would receive a refund within 30 days.
Just before Christmas I received a call from Andy confirming the refund then at the end of the call he casually said….
“Oh by the way one of your solar panels isn’t working…..”
I thought they’d discovered this as part of the monitoring process through the inverter. He suggested they could replace it and then I was talked into replacing all of them, they were 12 years old, stupidly I agreed and paid over £20,000.00 for this to be done.
A day later I regretted this as it all felt so wrong, I felt I’d been rushed into making a decision and so I cancelled my order.
It had been a very stressful time with Christmas, I wasn’t sleeping, as my husband wanders at night due to the decline in his dementia, a progressive condition which is getting worse and this payment, which I deeply regretted, making to Dynacell,
After so many empty promises, a rude phone call from Simon in Accounts and several lies I was becoming very upset and so decided to ask a debt collecting Agency to support and help me as I was worried that my mental health was declining and as I am the sole carer for my husband I needed to stay strong to support him.
I have still NOT been refunded for the solar panel. The battery refund took much longer than I was promised and was only refunded after I’d asked the debt collection Agency to get involved
Sadly, Gary Fox has yet to refund the money he owes me for the solar panels and now I am in greater need of my refund than before. My husband requires more intensive care that will eventually lead to residential support, which his medical team are now suggesting I prepare for but how can I…. when Gary Fox has yet to pay back my hard-earned money which he owes me and has had since 20th December 2024.
In my opinion Gary Fox and Dynacell have been deceitful, underhand, dishonest, have lied to me and cheated me out of my money. Gary Fox is a very untrustworthy character who is still affecting my health and now affecting the care options for my husband. In my opinion he is NOT a person to do business with.
A message for Andy, my solar panels were NEVER faulty and have produce a record amount of energy this year so far!
Solar……..
Solar……..
A company that does things correctly.
I am over the moon with the help from Dynacell.
Solar edge system fitted. Battery system fixed. No pressure sales from Marcus/engineer
Thanks
Mary
Very stressful & disappointing experience!
Harry cold-called my elderly dad and quoted £6,500 to replace both of his solar inverters after claiming they were faulty. Following this visit, we arranged for an independent engineer to assess the system. He confirmed the inverters were working perfectly and explained that it appeared a known safety feature of SolarEdge inverters had been deliberately triggered to produce a temporary fault message, which was then cleared. Based on his findings, the independent engineer reported the incident to Trading Standards.
UPDATE (3rd May 2025) – Important additional context.
After the initial visit, my dad paid a £1,000 deposit by credit card. A few days later, feeling increasingly uneasy, he changed his mind and requested a refund by email on 15th April — well within the 14-day cooling-off period. We received no response.
After chasing on 1st May, Gary Fox (listed as MD) replied, claiming they had tried to call — although no missed calls were found. I provided my number and, to his credit, Gary called promptly. He said he was angry about what had happened, informed us that Harry had been dismissed, and promised a full refund via BACS if we provided bank details. He also asked that we remove this review, saying it was harming the business. I explained that Trustpilot is there for consumers to share honest experiences and that, while I wouldn’t delete the review, I would update it to reflect developments.
On 2nd May, having still not received the refund, we chased again and set a midday deadline before escalating via the credit card company. Gary then replied to say, “Payment has been processed on BACS.”
However, the payment back to his current account via BACs, which was the method Gary requested, had not been received.
During a call with Lloyds (my dad’s bank) about cancelling the loan for the work, we mentioned the situation. They were concerned, and since the BACS payment hadn’t materialised and the credit card had been used, they initiated a dispute and refunded the £1,000 back onto the credit card. Huge thanks to Lloyds for taking this seriously.
Gary — I appreciated the call and your expressed concern, but this could have been resolved cleanly. Instead, it caused unnecessary stress for my elderly father.
To others reading: please do your due diligence. Check any company on Companies House. Read online reviews. Look closely at their website — we found several inconsistencies on dynacell-uk.com. And never be afraid to get an independent second opinion — especially if you’re being told your system is “dangerously faulty.”
I genuinely hope this company takes on board what’s happened here and improves its practices moving forward. If the BACs happens to appear, well after the usual length of time it takes (2-4 hours), we'll be in touch to refund this back to you.
Thank goodness I have found a Solar…
Thank goodness I have found a Solar Panel Company that I can trust at last! New optimiser fitted so that system is now working safely and maintenance plan put into place .
So very grateful. I now have confidence going forward and would highly recommend Dynacell! Special thanks to Darren and Angus!
Dynacell was very clean and tidy…
Dynacell did exactly what they say on their website. The guys who did the initial survey were the same guys that did the work on my roof. They were professional, courteous and very helpful. The work was carried out in a tidy and professional manor, everything was completed and a hand over session was arranged at my convenience - nothing was too much trouble - a very professional service. Recommended.
