This refers to the shop in Ystrad mynach. I rented 3 suits here for my groomsmen. I paid £420 in total. The suits were issued a few days before the wedding. Now considering the money paid you would think at least some quality would be involved. However on the wedding day one of my groomsmen complained of his trousers literally splitting in-between his legs. Laughable at the time but in hignsight disgusting that the trousers were issued in that state. Another groomsmen complained of his buttons falling off his blazer. After charging me so much for this poor quality clothing it shows what this shop is about. Go further a field if you want better quality clothing for your big day and avoid these crooks.

Extremely disappointed, I rang Monday to check we were not too late to sort an extended suit hire for my partner for a cruise (in 2 weeks time) and was told it would be fine. I said I would ring back in next couple of days to sort time for a fitting. I rang back today (Weds) and was told that there had been a stop from the warehouse this morning as at capacity to supply suits for extended hire. The fact I rang first to check is why I am so disappointed.

No Coronavirus Compassion
I measured for a suit as best man for my cousin, with the lock down cost pressure I decided to pay for the suit hire to help my cousins budget which I did and paid in full. 10 days before the wedding covid symptoms, got tested and confirmed positive. I contacted the hire company same day to explain and asked if any adjustments had been made to the suit I was hiring and was told no, I asked if there is anything the company could do in terms of refund or a voucher to spend at the store. Was told it will need to be the manager who is on holiday at the minute, Was promised a call back the following week when the manager was back in work, no call back, called the office again and was told the manager is still on leave promised a call back and no call back, this went on for 6 weeks and same response every time.

Got to the point and realised they were not willing to deliver on their promise of returning calls and had taken it that they were avoiding a return call not to discuss the matter. I concluded that their service is a zero star rating in terms of customer service and that if there is an unplanned issue after the hire suit is paid for that’s the end of the customer service. Feels like a ‘Cash and Dash’ and customer service after that doesn’t exist.
I can only comment on my experience and it’s a real disappointing one.

We rented 6 suits for a wedding. 9 items of clothing were the incorrect size meaning numerous trips back to Cardiff and extra stress. No apology. Poor service

Dyfed Menswear claim on their website to 'offer the highest standard of customer service', this has not been our experience. In January 2020 we ordered six suits in their Ystrad Mynach store for our wedding on the 25th April 2020. The deposit on booking was £60 with the balance payable 4 weeks prior the date, when the order would be submitted and could no longer be changed. Given we were only a little over three months from our wedding, we paid in full, £704.95, naively believing that nothing was going to stop our wedding going ahead. After paying we were given a copy of the hire agreement to take away which does state that a breach of the contract by cancellation will result in the forfeit of any monies paid. We gave this little thought. Then came corona virus. Our wedding on the 25th April was cancelled and a further two dates in July and September 2020 were also unable to go ahead. After three 2020 dates and with our venue unable to accommodate us in 2021 we decided to cancelled our wedding completely. Dyfed Menswear were obliging in moving the dates each time and at no point did we exceed 4 weeks before when the suits would have been made up. However, since cancelling it has been a completely different story. I have visited the store, spoken on the phone, e-mailed twice and sent letters recorded delivery appealing for some understanding and asking if they could consider returning some of the monies paid given they never actually had to make up the suits. I am being completely ignored, nobody has even responding to tell me they will not refund. Simply no response at all which just adds to the distress. With no end to the pandemic in sight I would like to warn other couples planning their big day not to pay in full, certainly not to this company, until you are absolutely sure your wedding will go ahead.
