I ordered a dress online on Facebook from Donna’s dresses. Picture shows older ladies standing outside the boutique in Charleston SC in nice linen dresses. When the dress came, I saw it was from China!!! It was made of cheap polyester and the pattern was mismatched. I immediately emailed them and told them I wanted a refund and a return label as their policy stated that they would pay for the return if the dress was defective or incorrect. I included a picture of the dress and from the website. ”Donna” responded first with a 15% refund then a 50% refund. I said no. I told them I had searched for their company and there was no such a boutique in Charleston. They gave me some BS and now wanted a picture again of the dress. Then a email came again about giving me 50% refund. I had it and notified my bank. I got the refund the same day of $69.95. I am reporting them to BBB! Please save all the conversation with them so you have proof. If they don’t respond call your bank immediately!

Wife ordered several dresses. None were what was described. It's Cheap knockoffs and bad polyester.
Talking to them, for returns, is frustrating with their excuses.
DO NOT order from Donna's Dresses.
I would give them 1/2 of a star or a negative star, if I could.

I ordered a dress described as "full linen." 26 days later I received a dress made of 100% polyester. The package was shipped from China, even though Donna's Dresses' website says "Shipping Policy - Donna's Dresses is a U.S.-based company shipping exclusively within the United States."

The return policy gives two choices. 1: For a full refund I ship the package back to China at my expense, get it processed through Chinese customs, make sure it is tracked all the way through, and then provide proof of delivery. Or 2: Donna's Dresses will refund me 15% of the price I paid.

I have asked 4 times for the return address if I want to return the dress but they have not provided me with that information. I'm documenting my complaint to my state's consumer protection agency.

The dresses that I received did not look at all like what I saw on the website. Poorly made, terrible fabric.

Once again a knock off of a legitimate store in US. As soon as my package came with Chinese postmarks I knew I had been fooled. Quality not awful but if you need to return you get the usual rigamarole about expensive return shipping! Cotton dress was not cotton. Skirt was nice but elastic waistband was too big so elastic keeps rolling over.

I echo all the other customers on this site related to Donna’s Dresses. They represented the product as coming from a small boutique in Charleston, SC. The dresses were poorly constructed, fabric was synthetic, sizing was inaccurate, design/color was inconsistent with pictures/description, packaging resulted in very wrinkled garments, shipping came from CA but returns are to be sent international - the list could go on and on. I’ve reached out numerous times but they won’t honor their return policy for their product. I’m filing a complaint with the FTC, BBB, Attorney Generals Office in CA, Attorney Generals Office in the state I live in, various consumer protection sites like this one and disputing the charge w my credit card company. Hoping others here will do the same. Volume of complaints to those agencies and credit card companies will result in more severe repercussions for the merchant.

Just received my orders. One, Long dress. Ok. Cheap polyester fabric, not sewn at all like photo. Color does not match photo. Could not have been sewn worse. Just plain ugly. 2nd dress not a long dress. Short. Again fabric is nasty. Now we all know why the fabric content is not mentioned once in ads. Do not order. Do not order.
Do not order. If this is really a brick and mortar store somewhere, these people have taken an terrible offer they did not refuse. Pitifully sad.

I ordered one dress. The order hit my debit card twice. I contacted them, they refused to cancel the duplicate. They insisted it was too late to cancel. I contacted them 10 minutes after I placed the order. I never received any shipping notice. I reached out again. They sent me a link to a ceramic frog shipped from Etsy? I reached out again. They sent me an email, saying "sorry". I still haven't received the dress. It's been 30 days.

I would give this a -100 if I could. Such trash. Don’t buy. It’s a scam. Dress I got was so hideous and it’s like a cartoon version of a dress. Someone took a picture of a dress and printed it on a piece of crap material. I have NEVER encountered this big of a scam. Prices are also misleading, giving you an impression that you just got a great dress at a steal. It’s a trick and lie. The company should be shit down and the owners should be held liable.

The only thing that was in common with the dress in the picture and the dress I received was the print of the material . Picture dress: midi length. My dress: above the knee. Picture dress: 3/4 sleeves. My dress: sleeves covered my hands. Do not buy from Donna's dresses!!!

I ordered two dresses over two months ago. They still haven’t arrived. After many emails back and forth, they agreed to refund half the amount and I can keep the dresses when (if) they arrive from China. I have not yet received the merchandise or the refund. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau. My advice would be to run from this scam company.

I placed an online order from donnasdresses.com and received a confirmation email from whop.com linked to mysterlingcc (My Sterling College). The transaction showed up on my credit card statement with a reference number of a string of zeros and a category of educational materials. This led to my issuing a Dispute on my credit card and alerting them to what looks like a scam. This was done while the card was still in “authorization mode” and funds have not yet been withdrawn. Keep this example in mind if you liked the pictures online. It appears to be a scam operation only.

I ordered a dress for a Wedding the end of June. Ordered on May 25th. After a week and a half, status hadn’t changed. No movement. Wrote to the company and was told that the looking at the status doesn’t always show movement and they promised to look into the order! It is now 19 days later and status hasn’t changed at all! I wrote to them again this morning. Wedding is less than two weeks away! At this point I doubt I will even see that dress before Wedding even though their website states it would arrive by June 17th, very misleading! Not a good way to run a business! I also told them I’m requesting someone look into this matter or I will have to file a complaint with BBB! If I could give them a 0 right now, I would! Buyer beware! Not right!

If I could give it zero I would. Shown fake pics during online purchase. Received merchandise and material and pattern not as described. Began communicating through email. First offered 30% discount to keep, declined that, then offered 15% to keep. Declined that. Reported to my bank as fraud due to false advertising.

I have not received my order but I am not expecting much. My experience with the company and shipping is exactly as the other reviews have indicated. NOT USA company. FROM CHINA.
SCAM. What infuriates me more is the picture on the website and the "Donna" that keeps replying to my emails. Beyond frustrated.

I have vowed not to fall victim to these cheap and aggressively marketed Chinese companies anymore and yet.... I just did again. This was pretty diabolical in that they use on their splash page a picture of a woman in front of a store that says Charleston on it. And when I searched for Donna''s Dresses Charleston, indeed there is a dress shop by the same name there! So I ordered. The dress I ordered arrived all scrunched up in a dirty plastic mailer and it is just as cheap and terrible as one could imagine. Button holes unfinished properly, thin plasticky material and the long sleeves are a full 4" too short. $69 and it is worth about $5, Buyer beware. I am going to attempt to return it, but I am doubtful I will be. success.

Terrible experience with Donna’s Dresses. AVOID. DO NOT BUY FROM DONNA’S DRESSES. I purchased a dress and wanted to return it.
They offered me 15% & 50% to keep it. I do not want to keep it so I said no to the percentage off and to please provide me with how to return it. They initially said no until I had to threaten them with reporting them to the BBB. Then I received an email saying yes I could return it but I would have to wait to hear from their return department. Rather than providing information on how to return it and providing me with a confirmation number, they offered me 15% & 50% off again. I have been scammed, they are never going to let me return the dress.

I placed an order for 3 dresses on April 19. I just received the order June 1. Upon checking tracking, the order came from China, shipped to LAX, then delivered here. The Taylynnne dress was not a maxi, too small, no care label and 100% polyester. The Grace Timeless Vintage dress was not linen, but 100% polyester and made in China. This dress (and others) are also available on similar websites like Evelyn an Parker, Alice and Louise, Sienna Cover, Chloe and Claire, etc. You tube video reviews are not that great--this is totally my bad for not doing greater due diligence. Investigating return options--the form and shipping goes to China (sigh). The third dress I bought was ok, but I thought all dresses were 3/4 sleeve, so I just need to shorten the sleeves. Whether shopping in store or online, it's not much fun anymore because it's so hard to find what you would like to buy. Buyer beware. Shipping time was most unreasonable, but I did hear from customer service that the order was "on its way."

Oh, if this review had only been posted sooner! My experience is exactly the same. The product is NOT linen but a flimsy polyester. Returns are not financially reasonable. Return postage to China is 50% of the cost of the product.

The dress I received was materially different from the item advertised on the merchant’s website. The product photos and presentation suggested a higher-quality linen-style garment; however, the actual item received was made from thin, low-quality 100% polyester material and did not resemble the advertised product in quality, appearance, or fit.

The quality of the received merchandise was substantially inferior to what was represented online. The stitching, fabric, and overall construction appeared very poor and inconsistent with the website images and description.

I contacted the merchant promptly to request a return and refund. However, the merchant refused to provide a reasonable return solution and stated that I would be required to pay international return shipping costs at my own expense. This was not clearly disclosed prior to purchase and would make the return unreasonable relative to the value of the item.

They publicly advertise a “30-Day Money-Back Guarantee,” but then refused to provide a practical refund process and pushed the cost/risk of international return shipping onto you.
