I ordered a 24V lithium battery and was never informed it was on backorder. After weeks of waiting, I was told it hadn’t arrived from China and was offered an acid battery instead. Poor communication and a disappointing experience.

I just wanted to give a shoutout to this team in relation to their customer service - they were a pleasure to deal with and patient with us when we had no idea what we were doing as customers! Thank you. These days great customer service is not as common as it once was so liaising with staff here was refreshing.

Had a problem and wouldn’t turn on. Contacted Dillenger and they were very prompt with some advice then arranged for parts to be sent back. Found and fixed issue. Sam was very helpful. Great support service.

Had an issue with my battery and Sam was excellent, simple fix and told me what to do and got it sorted instead of it turning into an expensive job, your a top bloke Sam and thanks again!

I would like to share my positive review of Dillenger Electric Bikes - both the products they sell, plus the people who work there. It was almost 2 years ago (in October 2022) that I purchased my Dillenger “Super Street MSS2” ebike, and I continue to be very pleased with it.

I am 75 years old and I enjoy getting exercise on my ebike. It is well made and suitable for me, being a step through model, which I find is easy and comfortable to ride. However this ebike is not just for old guys like me. They do carry other ebike models, but this one is right for me. Based on my experience, I can highly recommend the Super Street MSS2 ebike from Dillenger.

Dillenger Electric Bikes are located in Arundel on Queensland's Gold Coast. As a bit of background, I had previously bought a couple of folding electric bikes which were cheap, but of poor quality. It turned out they were cheap for a reason !!! I searched for a better quality ebike and in the end I was fortunate to come across Dillenger Electric Bikes. What I wanted was to deal with a business that not only sold ebikes, but has their business premises here in Australia in case any after sales service was needed. This is not the case with so many ebikes that are imported from overseas, with no real backup, or limited (often nil) after sales service.

Iris at Dillenger was extremely helpful when I looked at their ebikes, and encouraged me to take a bike for a couple of test rides to ensure it was suitable for me. Then Iris arranged for the bike to be fully assembled and tested before I picked if up. That was a big help, and saved me a lot of time in trying to assemble the ebike myself. Iris also changed the display from the standard to a display with more features, at no extra cost.

Some months after riding it, I did have a minor issue with the ebike and it was so good to be able to take it to Dillenger's premises where Iris was able to sort this out quickly and efficiently.

More recently my wife and I were heading overseas for 3 months and I contacted Iris at Dillenger to check the best procedure for leaving the battery for that extended period of time. Again it was so reassuring to deal with a local business which could provide the right advice promptly, rather than trying to get answers from a faceless business based overseas.

About a week ago I had another very satisfactory experience with Dillenger Electric Bikes. My wife had just acquired a second-hand ebike (that is a long story), which was a different brand. Before long I realised there was a problem with this ebike, and so I contacted the local distributor. I was told to bring it in to their premises where they would run a diagnostic check at a cost of $100. The chap I spoke to indicated it might be a problem with the battery, and over the phone I was quoted a price of $900 for a replacement battery, plus potentially other parts if required.

I decided to go and see the folk at Dillinger Electric Bikes, as I knew I would get honest advice about what potentially might be the problem - even though my wife's was not a Dillenger ebike. Iris was on leave and I was looked after by Sam, who was very helpful.

Sam examined the battery, to find that there was indeed a problem. He also checked if the battery charger was okay (which it was). Sam explained that some ebike batteries have an inbuilt fuse, and offered to open the battery case to see if that was the cause of the problem. Sure enough the fuse had blown and it was a simple matter for Sam to replace it. The battery is now fine and my wife is able to ride her ebike with me. Sam didn't even charge me for doing this, which was outstanding service.

I believe this latest example of top service from Dillenger Electric Bikes proves the value of buying from a reputable local business, staffed by the right people. Sam could so easily have said it was not their problem and that I should take it to the ebike firm I had spoken to on the phone. However he had a customer focussed attitude, and put the time and effort into solving my problem in a cheerful friendly manner.

I make no apology for the length of this review. When I receive extra good service from a business, I like to let other people know. I am genuinely very pleased with the ongoing excellent service from Dillenger Electric Bikes, as well as the top quality ebike I bought from them in 2022.

For anyone looking to purchase an ebike, I definitely recommend that you check out Dillenger Electric Bikes in Arundel. From my dealings with this business, I am sure you will not be disappointed.

I received my conversion kit just over a year ago and after a bit of fiddling got it fitted to my bike with little trouble. The instructions given by Dillenger were clear, simple and straight forward. Since then I have enjoyed many fantastic assisted rides to and from my work. Last month the battery stopped giving me full range and was just out of warranty. Friends with the same kit have run 1000's of kms and many years without issues so I was disappointed mine had failed so early. I thought given the warranty it's unlikely that Dillenger would help me but with a few questions answered and readings done my side they were very obliging in replacing the battery at no cost to me. This sort of honest service is rare in this day and age. Big thanks to the wonderful team at Dillenger for getting me back on the road with a minimum of fuss.

I purchased a Super Street 8 Limited 500W Edition Step through, back on 12th of June 2019. Costing $1599.00.
Currently this type (Step through) and 500W motor size are not available.
The closest available is the Hunter V3 Marked down from $3999.00 to $2199.00

We love our folding Dillenger e-bikes. We have had a few practice rides while we wait for our new motorhome. Our Dillenger bikes are lighter than most folding e-bikes (18kg), are easy to fold, and fit easily in our small car (Mazda 3). They are a lot of fun to ride. We have found all communication and dealings with Dillenger to be excellent. We recommended these bikes to a friend and she has now also purchased the folding Dillenger e-bike.
We highly recommend Dillenger.

Amazing kit, wish I'd bought one years ago!
It is a little to fork out upfront but they offer afterpay and now that I'm able to ride to work and to the shops, I have saved more than the cost of the kit in fuel and wear and tear on my car.
They are legal to use on NSW roads and so easy to install yourself, my partner and I put it on one afternoon. Dillenger are also incredibly helpful!

I fitted the rear wheel kit to my Giant Talon1 29er, the process was all pretty straight forward.
The spokes needed a bit of tightening.
Just using the thumb throttle is good for me and I can now get up some pretty steep hills around my area with a bit of pedalling to help.
It was good to deal with an Australian company rather than ebay.

I purchased the premium off road kit as it was the best value and most simple to install across the systems i was looking at (including mid drives). Its great on hills and it actually gets you on the bike when you may not if your ride starts with a steep and long climb. I use it 3 to 4 times a week as a work commute on road and across fire trails, it does a great job. It is very handy in a commute, if you need to accelerate out of a situation or to beat the changing lights. The two things that i would suggest is understanding the difference between a freewheel and a freehub as the kits requires a screw on freewheel (not cassettes). The other thing is make sure to tighten the spokes and check regularly as they do break occasionally and when 1 goes more will. Very happy with the purchase as it has got me commuting to work again!!

I had one of their ebike kits set up on my bike and love it. It easily gets me to work and back every day on a single charge (around 40km). Happy with my purchase.

I have installed / retrofitted 2 of your off road kits to my bikes  ,we have clocked up about 400klms between them and are impressed with the ease of installation and performance were getting out of our bikes now.

The kit was easy to install, I do have DIY experience in mechanics though so I guess I did have a slight advantage over someone who might not have ever done something like this. The recommended video will definitely help if that’s you and it really isn’t too complicated. The kit is definitely good quality, the hub motor performs very well, it’s top speed is probably faster than you’ll need all the time but it’s very fun at full speed with the throttle! I rarely need to put the assistance level above 7/8 even up steep hills. On a flat I can still easily hit 40kmh on level 6. The battery seems to have a very good amount of range. I tend to charge it every 30-40km and even then it's over half full still according to the screen. I’ve had a couple of questions since installing the kit and the customer support has been phenomenal, both occasions I had my answer within an hour. If I had to make one minor criticism, and it is very minor, it’s that I don’t have the most faith in the sticky backing that the brake sensors use. I ended up gluing mine down just in case. That is just me very much nit-picking though and this can be solved by purchasing the brake levers at a very reasonable price.

Overall super happy with everything!

Really impressed with my conversion kit. The whole set up is quality. Done in an two or three hours. Performance is great. Highly recommend.

After spending time researching the value, quality and good costumer feedbacks of E bikes available out there - we decided to place the order with Dillenger.
The friendly staff ensured fast delivery.
Easy to follow assembly instructions of a few components were included in the box. Well made, good quality and fitted with a Samsung battery that lasts well for our long bicycle excursions. Well priced additional Samsung battery also bought as back up for the long trips.

After a lot of research (I'm electronics trained) we bought the Street Legal Electric Bike Kit - Samsung Power 2.0 with a 250 watt front wheel hub and a read bike rack added to it just before x-mas

It arrived a couple of days later between the x-mas and new year break which enabled me to fit it up over the next 2 days. As it was going onto a 24" bike we also bought the rear rack option as I'd worked out using the paper cut-outs on the web site, that the battery would be too big to fit on the bikes diagonal upright and we wanted to keep the drink bottle there anyway.

So far it's working like a dream and even on a 20% uphill bike trail incline the other day with a 500 metre steep section it still kept pulling along with my partner putting in little effort while it maintained a reasonable speed.

Would certainly recommend this kit to others.

It is possibly a little heavy and it does change the balance of the bike a bit, but that's to be expected as it is a hub kit and a reasonably well sized 470 Watt hr battery.

It's still cheaper than a new e-bike if your doner bike is still working fine.

I am very happy with my conversion kit. It wasn’t too difficult to instal and works like a dream.

The service from Dillinger is awesome with all enquired handled professionally.

I ordered two conversion kits for my daughter and myself & paid less for both than one electric bike would cost!. We needed a little bit of help swapping the wheels over as I didn’t have the tools but we could manage the rest ourselves quite comfortably.
There is no doubt that it has changed our lives for the better. We live some distance from the town centre on a hilly dirt road and my daughter can now comfortably ride there and back and I save on petrol & am no longer a taxi service! Plus should we ever need to upgrade our bikes we can simply transfer the kit & so resources are being used more wisely.
I could wish for a how to video that was a little more thorough for though we managed it would make it easier still & for a couple of spare rubber covers for the plug in point on the battery as my girl has lost hers somehow.
Definitely a great buy in all other respects; sound, powerful, practical & sturdy
