I was skeptical at first but after…

I was skeptical at first but after reading the reviews I was put at ease thanks to the many great reports from others. The process was super easy, I applied on the weekend and my document was sent the following Tuesday. It looks official and professional and I’ve not had any issues changing my name in systems using it so far. It is a pain updating necessary documents but that’s personal lol. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to change their name I wish I found this site sooner.

Great customer service

Great customer service, professional documents, and the information provided is very clear and helpful.

Documents hadn't arrived after a week due to an issue with Royal Mail. Emailed and they had my order dispatched again same day.

I don’t know exactly what was said, or to which adviser you spoke to, so it is difficult to comment — but we try to be as helpful as possible, and help you in a polite, respectful, and efficient way.  The phone helpdesk we provide is effectively a free service, because everyone is welcome to ring and ask questions.  We would never want or try to make you feel stupid and I’m sorry you felt that way.

Glad I chose Deed Poll Office

After a lot of researching the other online deed poll service sites, and even contemplating just creating my own free deed poll, I'm glad I chose Deed Poll Office. They walked you through each step of the application with plenty of explanations and answers to common questions. The price is reasonable, especially compared with competitors.

I could have made my own deed poll for free, but I'm glad I didn't and chose to pay a little as the certificates look much more "official" when handing them over to organisations, and I haven't had any organisation refuse the deed poll document.

The time from payment to delivery was around 4 days, which was great. They kept me informed along the way of what stage my order was at.

The deed poll themselves look great, and I like that each copy has its own ref code at the top.

I will be seeking compensation for my childs name change that was not agreed on by both parents on the birth certificate therefore I have no choice to seek compensation for the damage caused already done all that your getting it too don't worry about that my solicitor will be InTouch

Hello,

Just to make things clear — you are not our customer and you have never had any contact or relation with our service apart from this review.

The other parent of your child purchased our deed poll service — not you — and you’ve made clear that you did not agree to the other parent’s action.

By law it is the legal responsibility of any organisation that holds a child’s name in their records to check that consent has been given from everyone with parental responsibility.

As part of our service we identity who has got parental responsibility for a child, and ask for confirmation that each person has given consent.  We do not ask to see proof of consent beyond this e.g. in writing because it is not our legal responsibility (for we are not a record holder) and because this job is much more effectively carried out by actual records holders such as schools, GP, etc. — who are obliged by law to do these checks anyway.  It is for good reason that the law places the legal obligation on record holders.  To be absolutely clear: we are not a register or record holder and we destroy personal details after we have issued a deed poll.

Notwithstanding, we would never do a deed poll for a child where we know or suspect that someone with parental responsibility has not given consent.

If a customer were to lie in the application form — saying that someone with parental responsibility has agreed to a change of name when this is not really true — they would be committing fraud, and most likely a number of other offences including possession of a false identity document.

If you really wanted to claim compensation as you have proposed, the correct way to do it is in court.  Taking us to court would not get very far unless you could prove that we did a deed poll knowing that someone with parental responsibility, which we would never do.

If you want to prevent an unlawful name change from going ahead, what you must do — which in any case is much more effective practically speaking — is to raise your complaint with schools, the GP, HM Passport Office, and so on.  Make clear that you have parental responsibility and have not agreed to any change of name.  Those organisations can and should prevent the name change being recorded.

Amazing Staff and Service

This service is amazing. I live abroad and had to change my child's name in the UK. The process with the Deed Poll Office was so easy. They answered all of my initial questions quickly via email. I filled in the documents online, and they were processed within a day. I received my official documents via airmail very soon after. They also emailed me to follow up with the next steps and also a check in after that. I am very happy with their service and I would highly recommend them to others.

Deed Poll Office 5 Stars

Deed Poll Office are really good. You can order and have your documents the next working day. I ordered on a Tuesday and theu were through the following day. Very fast and effecient service. Documents are high standard, and you can choose to store a copy digitally in case you need more later.

Absolutely Excellent!!

Absolutely Excellent! I had been cautious about changing my surname and the legalities around an 'enrolled' deedpoll or an 'unenrolled' deedpoll but the deed poll office website lays everything out so clearly that I wish I'd done it years ago. The process was easy & exceptionally efficient. So far I've had no problem in using the deed to update my name with various organisations, including getting a new passport, banks, council tax etc. I placed my order with the deed poll office on Monday 15th Jan 24', I recieved my deeds on Weds 18th Jan (as promised) and immediately started changing my accounts and as of today's date (30th Jan) almost all of my details are now in my new name and the ones that aren't are down to me just not getting round to updating them yet or longer winded processes with some organisations than others. Genuinely can't fault the Deed Poll office. Great service. Thank you!

Fantastic service all round

Easy to use the website and understand what I needed to do and they were very quick and efficient at sending out my documents for my child’s change of name. If I needed to use again I definitely would and recommend to anyone 100%.
