CHILD LOCK IS INFURIATING

A world where microwaves need child locks because society has gotten so pathetic we can't even heat our food easily, this 7 + 9 + hold door open for 3 seconds BS has removed the "convenience" factor from heating your food.
The company I work for keeps buying this pc of trash and because of the lame child lock we have had 5 thrown in the garbage in a year because no normal human could have the patience to deal with this bubble wrapped nonsense
I'll never give Danby a red cent of my money because of this infuriating nonsense.
What a pathetic joke society is now, we worry too much about dumb people.

We need to let darwinism do its thing, please stop bubble wrapping society because you are ruining everything

Danby parts and service

The staff at Danby is great. I bought an air filter/purifier room sized air cleaner at the store fir $139.00 The filter did a good job but when it came time to replace it, the cost was insane!
A small replacement filter was over $65.00! No suppliers such as Costco or big box stores gad them and the generic ones were up to $70.00, if you could even find one.
Suggestion; before you buy an appliance that requires a filter, ask about the price and availability of filters and parts.

Brand new freezer that died less than a month later.

We purchased a brand new freezer on September 5, 2025 and not even a month later, beginning of October 2025, it died. When I contacted Danby, I explained that we were a retired couple living on a fixed income. They told me that they were unable to reimburse us for the loss of our frozen products.

Then they asked me to find a company to fix my own freezer as they were unable to find anyone in our area. When I did find a company, Cabot Electric, about a week later, the paper work was put through. I am still waiting to have my freezer assessed and/or fixed. Now I am stuck with a brand new freezer that doesn't work and no resolution on the horizon from either Danby or Cabot Electric.

It is unacceptable that not only are we not able to get reimbursed for the loss of our food product yet we must find our own company to fix our freezer. Then we are ghosted by both Danby and Cabot Electric. Shame on them for providing such poor service.

Bought a danby freezer from Home Depot

Bought a danby freezer from Home Depot. It lasted just over 2 years so we contacted warranty and although it took a while they shipped us a replacement freezer. The only freezer they said that was available was under sized but we accepted it because it appeared to be our only option. Item arrived and the packaging was perfect so we signed off on it. Only after we got it into the house did we see that the entire unit was dented along the front panel. This had nothing to do with shipping but rather quality control. We contacted Danby and their suggestion was an extended 6 month warranty of the remaining 2 years left on the original warranty.

This company won’t stand by their products and will ignore your emails and refuse to provide phone conversations. Called them and was told I could not speak with my customer representative or get his extension for his phone number. Was also told because the unit works when it’s plugged in, it’s acceptable on their end for us to use.

It’s really disappointing to know that this is Canadian owned.

Thought that buying Canadian was a good…

Thought that buying Canadian was a good idea until buying a dehumidifier from Danby. Poor product failed within the 24 month warranty period but they did not honor their warranty. Worst decision. Certainly, I will never buy a Danby product again.

two fridges dead

I bought two of the Silhouette Pro – 24″ Built-in Beverage Center in Stainless Steel beverage fridges when I built my house in 2020. They both broke, one just after 1 year the other just after 5 years. At 1,300 a piece (now they cost $1,800) they should last longer. I had to pay to replace them, Dandy did nothing to help. I switched to zline - 5 year warranty

Caution before buying danby products

Bought a wine fridge a year and half ago for $1799 and it stopped functioning. Then called to asked for repair part and they discontinued and will not provide parts. Will never purchase a product from them that is just going to break and cannot be repaired.

Horrible design do not buy

Horrible design, the hose falls off the attachment to the unit. If I even move it a bit the whole hose falls out letting hot air into my apartment! Terrible, I have had other units in the past without this issue as the hose comes attached without worry of it falling off. From another Brand company, Not happy at all with this! It is being held by Tape as it is 30° in Toronto!!!!

Do not buy anything from this company if you can avoid it as much as possible even if they sell it at Costco their products are shit don’t work as long as they should Customer service is garbage they don’t help with anything. Save yourself the headache and your money.

No customer service

I purchased a used Danby upright freezer and the seal to the door was cracked which caused it to frost badly. I contacted the parts store online ( you can’t get parts anywhere else).I asked for the gasket measurements if they discontinued the item.
Yes, it’s discontinued and they gave me a number for an American office which will charge duty since I live in Canada. I asked again for the measurements (which they ignored) but, that is apparently top secret and they won’t divulge that information. I have no idea what havoc I’m allegedly supposed to do with some numbers to get a custom made one. They just blew me off so I should unload this hunk of junk. Awful customer service if you can call it that. I will never buy their products again.

I bought a Danby 5.5 cu Black Freezer. It had a leaky seal with in a short period of time. Called Danby because of the 5 year Warranty. I can’t even begin to tell the hassle that I went through. I just gave up. NEVER will I ever by a Danby product again.

began to leak after 2 month. brand new! purchased online from liquidation store. but apparently its not covered bcs its not a “brick store”

I guess its better to invest money to the brands that stand behind its MANUFACTURER warranty. many brands offers 1 year from the date of purchase or 1 year from manufactured date.

Beware

Beware, horrible customer service and keeps on making excuses and lies to avoid fixing my stinky washing machine. To this date 1 yr, it is not fixed. The Washing machine was full of water the first time I used it and a burnt smell was present along with a little odour and the clothes was more moist then ordinary washers, sometimes dripping wet. After a couple wash the burnt smell went away and the foul ordour was more present. They lie and make appointments so many times and never come. When the technician came, he didn't even open up the machine and look inside. The motor is faulty cause my clothes are wet and it causes the odour. Danby comes up with excuses saying it is not cleaned properly, bullshit cause it was smelly the first time I ran it and to this date, it still smells and they refuse to fix it.

This is my second Danby Bad product quality and unacceptable customer serviceDehumidifier

This is my second Danby Dehumidifier, the first one I bought from Costco 6 years ago, it was recalled due to the fire hazard issue with that model. Then I purchased this Danby Dehumidifier 2 years ago from Costco again, however, within 2 seasons of use, this unit starts leaking water from the body and causing my floor to be damaged, it’s still under 2 years warranty. I reached out to the Danby customer service, under their instruction performed the troubleshooting process, exchanged emails back and forth, and sent them the photos, receipt and everything as per their requests. The last e-mail received from them said they’ve contacted their dedicated team to review my case and would update me as soon as possible. Then I never heard back from them, I even sent 3 follow up emails allowing them a month to respond, but still no one gets back to me. Now, I am left with a damaged floor caused by their defective product. It is obviously NOT a reputable company that would treat customers in such crudeness. It seems they don’t care about their products and their customer service is not helpful.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service, Slow moving process, it took 6 WEEKS for the replacement of my defective freezer unit. Very not helpful customer service. I've been passed on couple of times, promising me that someone would call me but no, no one reached out. They only want to send you an email and it'll gonna take them 2 business days to respond to you. VERY TERRIBLE SERVICE. If only i can give 0 star I would definitely do that! I love their products but their customer service support? Hell no! Overall, I would not recommend this brand at all. Not helpful support when their appliances break down.

On envoie une demande en ligne à Danby maison mère à Victoriaville pour un remplacement. Réponse reçue: Aucune requête acceptée après le délais de 48 heures à partir de la réception de la marchandise.
48 heures, allooo, délais illégal (OPC)
Ne respecte pas la garantie légale.
Marchandise défectueuse exige un remplacement.
Quel service de marde! Go pour une mise en demeure.. à suivre…

Don't ever purchase any danby house appliance…

Don't ever purchase any house appliance of this brand. I paid over $200 for a dehumidifier which recalled by their manufacturer. After completed the claim with all required documents . Their review team keep refusing to approve my claim with a reason "not able to locate my documents since i have called in twice and spoke to their customer service. Both reps were able to see the picture with powercord cut off which the blind review team couldnt locate. Seem like they are trying to not compensate the recall and they are paying only $60 for a $200-$300 recalled product.. I hope this company will go bankrupt soon so people dont get frustrating from their terrible customer services and faulted products.

My 3-week old window AC has a damaged…

My 3-week old window AC has a damaged fresh air switch and the only repair place is 30-miles away. They offered to have me try to take it apart to fix it myself. What the hell is the warranty for? Unbelievable how strange Alicia the customer service rep who's handling my issue is basically running me along hoping I will just give up. I will never purchase a Danby product again.

Service après-vente horrible

Service après-vente horrible. Depuis le 25 juin que le four de la cuisinière ne fonctionne plus et même après de multiples appels, après la promesse d'un retour d'appel, personne chez Danby ne règle le problème. Il nous réfère au réparateur du secteur, qui lui, ne veut pas se déplacer car il dit que ce n'est pas son secteur. Personne ne nous aide pour vrai! Nous n'aurons pas d'autre choix que d'entreprendre des procédures plus sérieuses.
