I believe that working with this firm caused many delays and I had to have the estate agent step in with advice to keep the conveyancing moving forward on at least two occasions. The solicitor assigned to me did not do basic research or make particular effort to keep it moving (such as hiring a firm to do searches when they were available much cheaper and months earlier by going right to the source). She also failed to properly chase documentation with the seller and the missing documents delayed our move by many weeks and led to unnecessary stress. The estate agent in this instance was the one who discovered the problem and revealed it to the solicitor – the information had been there all along if only she had taken the time and made the effort to find it. The management of the firm also failed to respond effectively to my complaints throughout and after the process. In fact, a detailed complaint explaining the issue with my solicitor and DWS in general went unanswered, and the manager assigned to oversee the case because of its problems failed to provide an evidence of oversight. Though I appreciate the thoroughness of working through all documents and not proceeding with the sale without key papers, I found my solicitor ineffective in her communication and wanting in her effort.

Totally unreliable and uncommunicative says it has done things that it has not. I have brought and sold numerous properties and have never had such poor service from any other solicitor I would suggest this one is to be avoided if you need a good job in a reasonable time

Hilary Cruz dealt with our sale and purchase very professionally and did an excellent job. We were warned by our estate agent that conveyancing companies were struggling with extra cases and fewer staff and to not expect a reply to an email for 3 days, this was not the case at all with Hilary - she often responded in less than an hour and always on the same day and was the same returning our calls. We know that she was often working very long days. We felt that she look at everything in detail and that she had our best interests at heart throughout. She was very pleasant to chat to as well and took a lot of the stress out of the situation. We would recommend her and DWS to anyone.

Living in the US made the process challenging due to the time difference and location. However, I enjoyed a thoroughly professional experience and would recommend DWS to anyone in a similar situation.

Awful!
Had the awful experience of being caught up in a chain with this Solicitors. Caused us no end of stress because things were purposely held up and delayed. The solicitor dealing with the sale, Pritesh Patel, would never answer phone calls or emails from our solicitor or Estate Agent it seemed that he wanted to control the whole chain - which he did! It was suggested by him that we all exchange and complete on one day which we did not want to do but ended up doing anyway because he would not agree to any other day and dithered so much that we had no option but to go ahead. We had to move out of our house within 3 days and had to move into temporary accommodation. It ended up costing us so much money - money for accommodation, storage, moving x2, accommodation costs for pets plus the cost of having to dispose of food at the last moment because we could not take it with us and did not have time to give it away. No apology and no thank you. House selling and buying is stressful at the best of times but this was way above the norm - and mostly caused by this company and this horrible man. Please if you value your sanity don't use this solicitors - if you are caught up in a chain with them then I feel sorry for you and hope you don't have the experience we had.
