I booked a Val d’Orcia / Tuscany photography workshop with Cymon Taylor in fall 2025 and the experience delivered high value. My main goal was to improve composition and understanding light at iconic locations — and Cymon’s instruction was practical, structured, and tailored to the participant.

I shot a Nikon Z9 primarily with a 200–500, and Cymon helped me evaluate scenes efficiently and make better decisions in the field. At sunrise at the classic Belvedere farmhouse, he coached me through composition choices based on the light and taught me how to use graduated filters to manage the sunrise dynamic range and keep the image balanced. That kind of targeted coaching is exactly what I was looking for.

He also includes a post-production consultation, which rounds out the experience well. The only “improvement” is that I wish I had booked more days. I’m returning to Val d’Orcia this fall and I’m already planning to spend more time shooting with Cymon. Recommended for anyone serious about learning, not just taking pictures.

Ho avuto l'occasione di vivere un workshop con Cymon Taylor in Ottobre. La giornata è iniziata molto presto con un breefing nelle meravigliose campagne toscane della val d'Orcia. In Cymon ho incontrato una persona eclettica, professionale pronto a trasmettermi nuove conoscenze della fotografia paesaggistica con grande naturalezza. Abbiamo lavorato ad alcune cose che volevo mettere a fuoco, sia della fotografia che della post produzione e Cymon le ha rese di facile comprensione. Dopo il workshop Cymon non si è dimenticato di me, a tutt'oggi chiedo e ricevo consigli.
Consiglio vivamente di regalarvi questa esperienza!
Una giornata con un vero artista che vi farà essere felici dimenticandovi della "sveglia".

I recently attended a 3 day photography workshop with Cymon in Val d'Orcia, Tuscany, Italy. I highly recommend Cymon to anyone looking for a photo' tour in Tuscany and an opportunity to improve their photography skills. Cymon is British but, having lived in Italy for many years, speaks fluent Italian and knows Tuscany and Val d'Orcia like a local. He took me to locations I would have struggled to find on my own. Cymon's flexibility for every photo' session meant each location was perfectly matched to the ever changing light and weather conditions. Cymon not only has an artistic eye but also great technical skills gleaned from his many years of experience as a professional photographer. He pushed me hard to perfect my exposure technique and taught me to look around the entire scene and zoom in on the details. I left Tuscany with a great portfolio of iconic shots but it is the tight pictures of lone trees and farm houses emerging from the early morning mist ( which Cymon encouraged me to take ) which are my favourites.
