A good company to deal with
I have several policies with the Ripe group, for e-bikes, and boat and a band.
The test of whether your insurance means anything is when you have to claim for something.
I had to claim for an accident with my boat, and they were absolutely spot-on dealing with it. Quick resolution and full payment of my costs.
I have no problem recommending them.

Was very surprised how quick and easy the whole process was, not to mention cheaper than expected ! Very pleased with how quick I was approved and had received all the necessary paperwork.

Lots of options
Really helpful pre-purchase with lots of answers to questions. It’s a policy you never want to make a claim on but the options far exceed what other cycling policies offer.

Exploitation of existing customers
First year of insurance, reasonable price. No claims. Made the mistake of leaving it on autorenew. They hiked the price by 26%. The first e.mail I received was on the last day of the cooling off period, a Friday when I was away from e.mails. Ringing on the following Monday to query the price rise I was told I was now outside the cooling off period and I would only get 1/3 of my premium if I cancelled. I will never go with a company again that treats existing customers in this way.

We would like to clarify that although our offices may not always be open when customers contact us, any email or cancellation request received outside of opening hours would still be reviewed and actioned from the original date of contact on the next working day. For example, had you emailed us on the Friday evening, we would have been able to backdate the cancellation request to that date.
We also sent an advance renewal notice on 04/04/2026, which advised that your renewal was approaching and included details of the upcoming premium. This notice is sent approximately one month prior to renewal to ensure customers have time to review their policy and make any changes if required.
The email you referred to as being received on the 14th day was actually a follow-up communication after your renewal documents were sent on the 30/04/2026. This email was intended to advise that any mid-term adjustments made outside the 14-day cooling-off period may incur additional charges. It was not the initial renewal notification, as this had already been provided in advance on 04/04/2026.

Very disappointed
Very disappointed! Had to make a claim, the company that dealt with it took over a month to reply! And then, delayed it even further. Please avoid these at all costs!

I was unsure about renewing my policy it had lapsed I was sent a reminder and got a very deal for two bikes.

A fair price
A fair price, but the admin fee of £25 was high, especially as my cover was all on-line.
I phoned with a query the day after starting the policy and was very happy with the response to that.
