I’m in a crisis, but I can’t talk with them for another 48 hours??? I could have a knife to my wrist. What sort of nonsense is this??? I’m told it’s to “respect their boundaries”??? How about you do your jobs??? Wish I could send a screenshot.

The responses I got were so bland and generic, that I seriously think I might have been chatting with a bot. When messaging, I suddenly just stopped being replied to without any warning. I actually feel better now because this hotline was so bad it made me laugh for the first time in months.

I feel like a better name for this company would be "Minor Inconvenience Text Line", because their services are going to do more harm than good if you're experiencing any more than that. The messages I received were robotic (to the point where I was genuinely considering the possibility that I was messaging a chat bot), superficial, and felt as though they were pulled from a script. For those who feel unheard, these cookie-cutter responses are more than likely going to make their feelings worse. Additionally, the conversation was pushed along in record time. Being rushed is the last feeling that you want to give someone that's in crisis. I brought up multiple issues, but only one or two were even acknowledged, nevermind any resources being given. Of the issues that were addressed, they were the ones with the most obvious answers; much to my dismay, as I only disclosed those issues for additional context for the more significant issues that I actually needed help addressing (ie issues that can't be addressed with a google search). As a final nail in the coffin, the counselor that I was connected with disconnected before ensuring that I was no longer in crisis, or before checking in with my reception to the session at all. I would not recommend the use of this text line to anyone, nevermind this as someone's last resort. It's extremely concerning to me that an organization with such a lack of quality control and blatant effort to get their "number of people helped" statistics up is the first result when searching for a text line when in crisis. It would not be surprising to me if this organization has caused people to stop seeking help after reaching out to them; not because their issues have been addressed, but because they feel even more helpless.

Robotic, rigid, unempathetic, condescending, ignorant, and ableist dictators. No accountability, no transparency, no contact person to address about these issues, just some bull crap email with lip service replies from some anonymous jerk.

I have been trying to reach who's in charge of training, but all these jerks want to act like there is no contact person in charge to speak to. Lying sacks of crap.

When we can speak to who is in charge of training, we'll consider recommending to others. Until then, avoid. More harm than good can come from these narcissistic sociopaths.

SCAM, BOTS! No one responds to emails. I wanted to volunteer, but was told I needed a background check. Background checkers are SCAM. Took all my personal info then asked me to resubmit it again, they didn't get it???? Really??? Then who did get it? They BOT out all their answers, same crap over and over. SCAM SCAM SCAM, reporting them!

My friend texted the hotline and we have legit spent 20 minutes laughing and talking about a volunteer? Employer? Called Amrit. Like sorry dude. A for effort but brug,,, we all know it's hot in a sauna ok. Real L my guy real L.

Lovely lady on the phone very polite and understanding a couple for points pointed out on what to do next been doing this since day 1 for over 1 year. first call ever .Crisis team! But seems like another lost cause I’m sorry to say but I don’t think mental health is taken seriously and doctors don’t read letters from specialists phycologists and clinicians psychotherapists . I know it’s a pandemic and nhs is stretched but I’ve been waiting well over 1 year only choice I can’t find Is the internet now is the GMC I’m going to book a appointment citizens advice and ask for them to wright a letter on my behalf with documents as proof! Crisis team they don’t care till you attempt harm or jump of a cliff so so point calling them

While it's nice to help, the supervisors treat the volunteer counselors horribly. The supervisors rush you thru calls even though no other texter is on hold. Then when you question them, they freeze your account and stop you from helping.

The service is great, well recommended if someone needs help if they are struggling with loneliness or depression. Give them a sms with the word "Shout" or "Home".
