Fail on our project and used our business as case study in ads without our consent
Warning: Step away from this business!
Summary of the 3 major issues we had with them:
1) Poor deliverable quality – The project was delayed, development introduced new issues, and the work did not meet the agreed standard. We had to terminate the engagement before completion to prevent further losses.
2) Unauthorised use of our business in paid Meta ads – Our brand was used as a case study in advertising despite the project being unsuccessful and without our consent. ( Do not trust their ads! The successful story you see might be a failure story in real life, like us!)
3) Questionable billing practices – We were charged for incomplete and uncommenced phases without proper invoices, billing notice, or payment confirmation.

Whole Story:
We engaged this company for a website redesign and upgrade under a 3-month plan at USD $2,500 per month (USD $7,500 total).
The project initially progressed reasonably well. However, partway through, the key team member Daniel Q. leading our project left the business. The transition was handled poorly, and the replacement team lacked the organisation, technical capability, and communication required to deliver the work to an acceptable standard. Progress stalled and the overall quality declined significantly.
The project was structured into three phases: Design, Development, and Ad Hoc. The design phase was delayed. The development phase was incomplete and introduced new issues, including changes that differed from approved designs and the removal of existing website features. The third phase never commenced.
Despite this, we were charged for all three months. No invoices were issued, no payment confirmations were provided, and there was no clear billing notification. We only became aware of the charges after reviewing our credit card statement.
Ultimately, we were forced to terminate the project, resulting in a loss of USD $7,500 with no usable outcome.
To make matters more concerning, we later discovered that our business was used as a case study in their advertising without our consent, which we consider highly unprofessional and unethical.
Based on our experience, we strongly encourage business owners to exercise caution before engaging this company, particularly for critical or long-term projects.

*Project Timelines & Communication*
The initial project timeline was estimated to be 12 weeks long, with the project beginning on the 17th of September. The completed build was returned to you on December 2nd, roughly 2 weeks ahead of schedule.
We have reviewed all communication logs, and can confirm you were never left waiting more than 2 working days for a response from any team member you reached out to during the initial engagement.
We do appreciate that the engagement did run through Q4, which is a busier time for ecomm brands. We would like to note that there were several instances where we were left waiting for approval / feedback for a number of days / weeks. In these instances, the team was proactive in reaching out to you every few days to keep up the momentum of the project. At times this may have felt like progress had slowed, however we can’t push unapproved work forwards.
*Unauthorised “Case Study” Used*
We would like to make it very clear that your brand was never used in a public case study of any kind. No metrics, company information or “success story” was ever published in any format across our socials or website.
The designs which we produced for you and which you approved were however used in one of our standard “Before & After” posts. These are purely visual posts which showcase what a page template looked like before we redesigned it and after.
We’d also like to highlight that we obtained your explicit written permission to use the designs in our marketing for this purpose. When you later changed your mind and objected to the post, it was removed the same day.
*Questionable Billing Practices*
We can confirm that you were contacted in advance prior to every single charge you incurred during the course of the engagement. We can also confirm that record of this communication was shared with you when you raised concerns with us recently, and all charges were billed in accordance with the signed agreement and payment plan laid out in your recorded demo call prior to signing.
Project Quality
We have noted that in your initial review (prior to editing) you mentioned that development never began on the project. This was also the messaging you used when you reached out to us recently, requesting a full refund in exchange for removing your review. In your latest iteration you’ve now highlighted that development was completed but not to a high standard. Both claims cannot be true at the same time.
Internally we can see that upon completion of development, the team spent roughly 2 weeks trying to obtain your feedback or approval prior to going live. Once feedback was finally provided, it amounted to 3 minor QA tickets which predominantly revolved around styling.
These tickets were logged on the project board that you were added to at the start of the engagement. Instead of engaging with the tickets once logged, you made the decision to terminate the project there. The team reached out to you to try and get final approval as we were extremely close to going live, but unfortunately we did not receive a response for several weeks. This was until you reached back out again trying to leverage a negative review into a full refund.
I finally have a website I love!
I had an awesome experience with Creative Ecommerce and the team that helped me rebuild my website from egg round up. Adam was great, helped the entire way and made sure things were done well. A+ from me and would highly recommend to any ecommerce store

Perfect Solution for the In-Between Stage
I bought the Figma Template Bundle because I knew my Shopify site had conversion issues, but I wasn't yet at the sales level where I could justify hiring an agency. Without fixing a leaking sales funnel, I might never get there. A bit of a chicken and egg situation.
This bundle is pitched perfectly for that gap. It's helped me tackle issues myself, which I hope will help me grow sales, and reach the point where I can bring in an agency to take things to the next level. The layouts are clean, well thought through, and easy to adapt, meaning you can make meaningful improvements without a full rebuild budget.
The accompanying Loom tutorial is excellent. It is clear, well structured, and full of practical guidance you can apply immediately.

I can't explain how bad my experience with Creative Ecommerce was.
The very first website iteration I received was absolutely awful - completely unusable. This was after paying £2,000 for the first month. I was completely shocked at the quality of what was delivered. It looked rushed, poorly thought out, and nowhere near a professional standard.
Because I was so underwhelmed, I raised my concerns, saying I was considering exercising the 1-month break clause. It took a entire week to hear back, and all we were told was that we had missed the termination deadline by a matter of hours.
Communication throughout was also terrible. The renewal date of the contract was repeatedly unclear, and even after asking multiple times, it took ages to get a straight answer, making it incredibly difficult to have any proper or timely communication.
I have recordings of video calls showing just how bad the website work was. Regardless, I had already paid £2k for a website that was completely unusable.
I have screenshots of all emails, clearly showing the lack of communication I received while trying to work out how to exit the contract. I was later told the week-long delay was because they were ill - but that delay directly caused my notice to be rejected.
After being locked into a further three months, the service itself didn't improve at all. I was promised A/B testing and CRO work, yet didn't receive a single piece of work in either area. Instead, it was just more insignificant website changes as we tried to salvage the pathetically bad site they had built in the first place.
The quality was atrocious, and I still view working with them as one of the worst decisions we've made as a company.
Complete rip off.

- The initial review included the name of our account manager. There was no other ‘breach of the platform guidelines’.
- As for the ‘key factual points’ - I have the full recording of the website they designed for us. As well as screenshots of all the other work we received. It was all horrendously bad. We didn't receive a single AB test, or any ongoing CRO work. AB testing was in the contract, and we had 75 hours was allocated to it - all of which was unused.
- As for the deadline passing - I repeat: I told them I was considering exercising the 1-month break clause. It took over entire week to hear back, and all we were told was that we had missed the termination deadline by a matter of hours. I couldn’t believe it. Wholly unprofessional, shameless, and quite frankly, disgraceful.
I don’t want to hold onto the issues CE caused us, but I felt it was necessary to address their response to me, so people know exactly what they’re in for!
Avoid at all costs.

Initial Month
While we understand you were unhappy with the initial direction, the work delivered was part of an ongoing build and optimisation process rather than a final release. We regret that the first iteration did not meet your expectations.
A/B Testing & CRO Work
You’re correct that split testing was not carried out. This was because testing was repeatedly paused at your request while you sought feedback from another team. Prior to this, you also communicated that you preferred launching new templates rather than running granular A/B tests. We did not proceed with testing without your approval.
Agreement, Communication, and Renewal
You enrolled in a three-month initial term with the option to cancel within the first 30 days. This was outlined at the start of the engagement.
When concerns were raised toward the end of the first month, we offered an additional two-week extension to allow time to decide how you wished to proceed. You acknowledged the extension in writing more than once, and services continued during this period.
After the extended deadline had passed, work continued at your request on both designs and your live website. No notice of cancellation was received through any channel prior to renewal, and the agreement therefore continued for the initial term.
For clarity, the renewal of the agreement was based solely on timelines communicated and acknowledged in writing. Messages sent to individual team members outside of the agreed support channel did not affect or delay renewal, and no request to cancel was received through any channel prior to the agreed renewal.
We understand that not every engagement is the right fit, and we genuinely regret that this one didn’t meet your expectations.
A Detail Oriented Shopify Team That Truly Understands Business Needs
I’m very particular when it comes to who I work with, especially on anything technical or conversion-related, so I don’t leave reviews lightly.
Creative Ecommerce stood out because of their attention to detail and how clearly they communicate. They took the time to understand what mattered to my business, explained their recommendations properly, and didn’t push unnecessary changes just for the sake of it.

I am writing this to warn others after…
I am writing this to warn others after a terrible experience. I paid for my website in full, and since then, the owner, the owner , has completely vanished.
I have sent three formal emails requesting an update or a refund, and I have received absolutely no response. I have noticed several other 1-star reviews appearing in recent weeks, so I am clearly not the only one dealing with this ghosting behavior. It is not a surprise to see the reputation of this business collapsing.
Because of the total lack of communication and failure to deliver the service I paid for, I have now instructed a solicitor to handle this matter and recover my funds. Avoid this company at all costs.

We’re disappointed to see this review, as it does not reflect the full context of the project or our communications throughout the engagement.
Over the course of the project, we delivered and handed over the agreed templates and functionality, provided ongoing support, and accommodated changes and additions as requirements evolved. Progress on the project depended on receiving product data, assets, and approvals at various stages, which, when delayed, influenced timelines.
We strongly disagree with the suggestion that we “vanished” or failed to communicate. We have extensive written correspondence, meeting records, and project documentation that show regular engagement and the work delivered at each stage.
We also have clear records of additional work provided beyond the original scope, undertaken in good faith to support the project’s progress. We maintain that we have acted in accordance with the agreement throughout.
Brilliant experience
I’ve had a lot of interaction with the team at Creative Ecommerce while getting my own business off the ground, and the experience has been great.
They’re extremely knowledgeable from a technical standpoint and clearly understand how ecommerce actually works in the real world. Any time I needed advice or had questions, they were quick to respond and always gave clear, practical guidance.
What really stood out was how fast everything was and how helpful they were throughout. Communication was easy, turnaround times were quick, and the level of support felt genuine rather than transactional.
If you’re looking for a team that knows their stuff, moves quickly, and actually cares about helping you, I’d definitely recommend Creative Ecommerce.
