I have visited this fab shop in a few occasions and bought various beautiful fabrics. I wasn’t able to get to shop in this instance and was able to order what I was looking for online. Order was dealt with promptly and received within a few days

This was a good find on the internet. Lovely quality fabrics at reasonable prices. They posted quickly but delivery was slow. I will definitely always check to see if they stock what I am looking for as I also like the fact they are a small independent shop. Thank you for a first class service.

Prompt delivery

Disappointing installer - bent, scraped, not sorted.(The service from County Fabrics was very good and the curtains that they made for us are lovely. )
This review is not about County Fabrics but about the really disappointing person/company that they recommended to fit the curtains (Jim / Hung, Drawn and Sorted). He appears to have no on-line presence so there is no way for me to complain about him other than via County Fabrics.
Our job appeared to be an inconvenience to the fitter from the start. He arrived late, didn’t apologise, and made it clear that he had another job to go to afterwards so was in a hurry to get ours done. In the process of fitting the curtains, a new bed frame with a heavy mattress on it was dragged across the floor, bending a support. The paintwork of the frame was also scratched by a ladder being used during the work.
The fitter didn’t mention having to move the bed or bumping it with his ladder and I didn’t notice the damage until after he had left, otherwise I would have raised the matter with him at the time. I reported it to County Fabrics who apologised and suggested that they would touch up the paintwork – not ideal for brand new furniture but at least a gesture - but I felt that it was up to the fitter to take responsibility for it himself, especially since he invoiced for the work separately.
I have contacted him several times over the past few weeks and given him plenty of time and opportunity to respond. I had hoped to maybe receive an offer to carry out a repair or possibly some compensation, or at least an apology, but I haven’t even received an acknowledgement of any of my messages.
I paid the invoice for the fitting in full and on time because I mistakenly expected that, because I treat people fairly and with respect, I would be treated the same way in return. Unfortunately, I should probably have withheld payment to get some leverage while waiting for some resolution. Instead, I’ve been ignored and my complaint treated as unimportant which is disappointing and insulting. I wonder how the fitter would feel if he’d paid someone quite a lot of money to do work, in the course of which they caused damage that they didn’t have the courtesy to try to deal with or even acknowledge.
I have no hesitation in recommending County Fabrics as suppliers of good curtains but would advise against using their preferred fitter since I feel that his handling of this has been very unprofessional. He appears to have no concerns about creating a problem then leaving it unresolved. If you do decide to make use of this fitter then, based on my experience, don’t expect him to care about sorting out any issues that might arise.

The ordering was simple to do and the delivery was quick- the fabric is wonderful and the price was incredible as it was on offer
