Oh dear ! Where to start ? We booked 2 adults 2 pets in at St Nicholas court in St ives last August paid full balance by November .
Received a msg from this company 14 days before we were due to travel to say we could only take 1 pet.
After they had taken £600 of us.
I was ringing Cornish Horizon 2 days the people I spoke to were rude and said they would forward me to a different department? I had nothing back ? I msgd the host who completely ignored me ? If it wasn’t for the support of the team at air BnB I would not of got a refund.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Luckily we have somewhere else to go £100 cheaper & for an extra night!

Was not told , new house was being built next door , Only a week before we arrived told that renovations had not been completed one time which was complete lie , had to be out of house by 0830 due to noise , children's bedroom looked into by workmen on roof , hows was filthy and garden in poor state of repair , complained but totally ignored, don't use this company
What a terrible disappointment fell in the garage 12th August 2025 in a and e over 7 hours booked with Clipperty Clop Falmouth 13th to arrive for our 53 rd Wedding Anniversary and could not drive with my ankle which is 3 times the size to then be told the owner would not let us change the date which is vacant in November even though the booking company said we could . We stayed last year at the person other holiday home Flying hooves. Was so looking forward to this so sad😢how we have been treated.
Cornish Horizons need to vet their accommodation much more closely and review their grading system .
We stayed at Miss Mopsy's Padstow supposedly a 4 * star cottage it was in reality an appalling property in desperate need of upgrade , We stayed in the London inn until we were moved the booking was relinquished but for the first week we had to stay on the outskirts of Padstow the property not what we would have chosen but because of peak season options were limited ,the 2nd week we returned to Padstow to a lovely central cottage we are currently seeking compensation .Susan Munday
AVOID THIS COMPANY…
The property we rented, 20 The Esplanade, Fowey through AirBnB was entirely misrepresented in the listing, and we had no choice but to vacate on day 2 at significant inconvenience and expense.
Cornish Horizons and their sister company Holidaycottages.co.uk were not interested to hear our concerns. We spent the entire first day of our holiday trying to resolve with them. Nobody interested in trying to assist and all junior staff on the phone. They are utterly appalling. My only regret is that I didn’t read these other reviews before booking.
Upon arrival, we were shocked to find the house in an unacceptable state. It was far from the five-star standard advertised. The property was dirty, poorly maintained, and unsafe. Specific issues included:
• Cleanliness: The carpets were grimy and stained, with fraying edges on the stairs. The walls, doors, and paintwork were dented, chipped, and grubby, particularly around light switches and stair rails. The entrance rug was filthy, and all sofas were heavily stained and worn.
• Mould & Hygiene Issues: There was extensive black mould in the bathrooms and bedroom where my children were meant to sleep. Mould was growing behind the sink, in the shower, around windows and doors, as well as on the curtains and carpet near the doors.
• Bedding Concerns: The sheets appeared used and unwashed. I found pubic hair on one of the beds, along with other hair in one of the other beds.
• Safety Hazards: The safety catch on a large third-floor window was broken, as was the lever on the bathroom window. This is totally unsafe for young children.
• False Advertising of Amenities:
The property was advertised with parking, but this turned out to be a single closed garage a 15 minute uphill walk from the house, unsuitable for a modern SUV sized car. The garages are broken and dirty. This was not made clear in the listing, leaving us struggling to find parking throughout the day.
The property is located on a typical Cornish narrow one way street. There is no place to drop off luggage or children. There is no parking, even for one minute close by.
The hot tub was not operational, and the surrounding decking was green and dangerously slippery. The outdoor furniture was too dirty to use.
We arrived late after a long five-hour journey and had no choice but to stay the first night. However, the conditions were unacceptable, and we could not reasonably be expected to remain in such an unclean, unsafe environment.
I contacted the company at 9am the following morning and was promised a callback, which never came. I had to follow up multiple times with both them and Airbnb.
Ultimately, we had no option but to leave and secure alternative accommodation at considerable extra cost. Given the state of the property and the complete misrepresentation of its condition.
We will now seek redress through the small claims process.
Cornish Horizons and Airbnb refuse cancer patient refund during Chemotherapy therapy
My wife booked a cottage in Cornwall which was to be a week break for her and beans our dog. We got stuck with the horrible news that ilaria has lymphoma cancer, and she would have to start Chemotherapy almost immediately. We understand that late cancellation’s usually don’t result in a refund for policy reasons. But hoped the company might have a bit of compassion and understanding, I could have been more wrong. She was refused any refund and not even offered a voucher which she would have been happy with. It does say in the terms and conditions that the company might offer a refund under unusual in for un forceen circumstances. Readers of this I will let you make your own judgment.
After almost over 6 hours on the phone with various inexperienced reps from Airbnb. One of them humoured me, refused to put me through to someone senior. When I explained my wife was unable to speak and had asked me to sort it out due to her being, sick mentally unstable, the Cornish Horizons and Airbnb m responded with I need to speak to the account holder. I told him she is sick and can’t stop crying she has just been diagnosed with cancer he repeated.. I need to speak to the account holder. The next rep I spoke to slightly better tried to put me through to a senior manager eventually after 45 mins on the phone cut me of and I was back to square one. So I started again the next day and three hours of conversations and emails Airbnb finally refused the refund. The host event horizons has refused the refund and Peoples names of. The address. Had refused the refund.. they said they required proof. honestly my anxiety at this point way through the roof I could tell. Y wife…. Honestly I’m at a loss. What terrible despicable company, host and management company

Do not book with this company if you like your money taken, being ignored and poor customer service. Absolutely not the way to run a business. We are still waiting for a response, i popped into the office twice whilst staying in Porthleven, discussed the false advertising of logs supplied during the winter months.
Avoid this company! They give 2 options for a refundable deposit of £200 up front, weeks in advance or a £25 non refundable deposit which isn't a deposit it's a fee. We took the £200 option, more fool me but then they want you to take the fee so they have you over a barrel. When we arrived at the property my girlfriend hung a coat on the coat stand, it immediately fell over and had clearly been 'fixed' by either the previous occupier or 'maintenance'. We simply did the same, when it came to refunding our deposit they deducted £63 for a broken coat stand. The coat stand was very cheap and definitely not £63 nor were we notified of any deduction it was simply taken from the deposit.
We booked Lower Trenarthen through Cornish Horizons. The house was lovely but the central heating didn't work. The owner lives next door but took 24 hours to visit and then told us it wouldn't be fixed during our stay "but its OK because we have provided fan heaters". It was end of October so we cut our holiday short and returned home. CH stated "we are only the booking agent and not responsible". They were completely unhelpful just like the owner. No refund or compensation was offered despite the fact that the property didn't deliver what was promised on their website. This is the worst Holiday letting agent that we have encountered.

They seem to have a great portfolio however when things aren’t up to scratch the “ we just represent the owner” starts. I’ve stayed three time with this company and each time the properties although advertised as Gold have been pretty grubby. In one property the owner had installed cameras overlooking all outdoor patios that they could watch live. Obviously this is a breach of privacy but CH didn’t seem to take seriously offering a small voucher to compensate. The same owners controlled the heating making it freezing for the whole stay. Again CH “not our problem”. I am now going to see if I can find a decent provider who holds owners accountable.

I booked a holiday with this company who were very quick to respond before the holiday took place to Lindos in Looe. However, on arriving we were upset to see building works going on either side of the property we were staying in and no one had notified us. We were woken every morning by the noise. I made contact during the holiday and again when we left to be told to contact the complaints department. I have complained and asked for a copy of their complaints policy. No response. I sent another email so anticipate that being ignored as well. Do not book with this company if you like your money taken, being ignored and poor customer service. Absolutely not the way to run a business

Our stay at Mally Moo in Padstow was problematic. The property is accessed by electric gates which failed and in exiting the drive caused us damage to our car. The front door also failed to function on several occasions and the carpet at the top of the stairs was coming loose and is a trip hazard. It was poor in provision of toiletries and basics in the kitchen so we had to go out and buy on our arrival. We cannot recommend this property. The owner has totally disregarded our complaints.
