This is my second workshop with Colin and once again he delivered an excellent trip. Nothing is ignored from picking up at the arranged location, a ferry crossing and a superb hotel which was comfortable and the food excellent. With full board included you are more than ready for the photography!! Colin knows the area to a very high level and the tuition given is excellent with great advice and real world examples. Cannot recommend high enough. I have a further two now booked for 2027!!

I recently had the pleasure of joining Colin Prior on his Harris and Lewis Photography Tour, and it was undoubtedly one of the most enjoyable and memorable photography trips I have experienced.

We stayed at the Harris Hotel in Tarbert, which proved to be a wonderful base for exploring these beautiful islands. The hotel was warm and welcoming, the staff looked after us exceptionally well, and there was always an excellent choice of delicious food - particularly welcome after a full day outdoors with the cameras.

Harris and Lewis offer an extraordinary variety of landscapes, from sweeping beaches and dramatic coastlines to rugged mountains, peaceful lochs and remote island scenery. Colin’s extensive knowledge and experience took us to some fantastic locations, including many places that would have been difficult to discover without his guidance.

The weather was certainly challenging at times, but Colin continually adapted the itinerary to make the most of the conditions and the photographic opportunities available.

One of the greatest highlights was the company. Our group shared a genuine love of photography, along with plenty of conversation, encouragement and laughter. From the chats out on location to catching up over breakfast and relaxing together at dinner, it was a real pleasure to spend the week with such a fantastic group of people. I arrived among fellow photographers and left having made some wonderful new friends.

A brilliantly organised, first-class photography experience in one of Scotland’s most spectacular landscapes. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone with a passion for photography, regardless of their level of experience.

My visit to the Small Isles led by Colin surpassed all expectations. The guidance, photographic opportunities, and organisation were second to none. A really priceless experience, being privileged to be guided by Colin and visiting such amazing places. Would thoroughly recommend on all accounts.

Colin’s photographic expertise, instruction and guidance was unsurpassed. He took time with all individuals, no matter their experience and provided skillful and helpful insight. I am a novice photographer and the learning experience I received in the field with Colin’s eye and skills were extremely helpful. His patience was unwavering.
We were based on the Isle of Muck for 7 days, (which we had ample time to explore), Colin also took us to other places on the Small Isles, including Rum, Eigg, Canna, Sanday, an archipelago of Coll and Isle of Coll. They were all incredible and full of beauty and composition!
Looking out at the landscapes, all around and at every angle, provided a palate of intrigue, beauty and photographic inspiration! An experience I will never forget! I will long to go back, to experience again.

I recently attended a week long photography workshop with Colin. The group was based on The Isle of Muck, off the coast of Scotland and went to 4 other isles. It was a true five star experience! Colin provided a lot of great group and individual attention and I learned so much. This included many talks at mealtimes, as well as before and after meals. I hope to be able to take another workshop with him in the future. It was a fantastic experience!

I had a fantastic trip, learning to see the pictures, the light and essential viewpoints and came home with some of my best panorama photos ever. Great food, and hiking trips as well.

Only thing with this trip was the weather being too nice. No clouds for 4 days, but Colin managed those challenges well, and helped me to develop some stunning photos.

I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been guided by Colin on the Skye and Torridon photography tour. He curated an experience and course that introduced and immersed me in the tapestry of this wonderful part of the world. His patience and dedication to his craft was evident and I came away with a lot of tools to experience the terrain, compose in different lights and compose a photograph with emotion. Will certainly be back.

The Ardnamurchan, Morvern & Moidart workshop led by the renowned photographer Colin Prior was inspirational. The locations visited... forests and coastal was a photographer's paradise giving opportunities to shoot Scotland in all it's Autumn glory... differing shades of red, amber, gold, green and brown. A workshop not to be missed

Everything so far has gone very well, although the actual Workshop is several months away in the future.

I love Colin Prior's tours so much that I signed up for another as soon as I returned home. Every aspect of each trip has been planned to perfect. The accommodations and food are always extraordinary, and Colin's photography knowledge is endless.
I look forward to my next trip.

Colin is an inspirational photographer and wonderful guide. He worked hard to tailor the trip to the group, carefully planning every aspect whilst generously sharing his time and wisdom. I learned so much from the insights he shared about his own practice, as well as from his experience of the incredible landscapes he brought us to. The week was creativity-fuelling and soul-refreshing.

Colin Prior's photographic tours are truly fantastic! I have travelled with him for 3 years in a row and I would book again in a heartbeat. Colin is an incredibly skilled and knowledgeable landscape photographer who generously shares his expertise with every member of the group without hesitation. He will not only take you to the most beautiful locations, he will do his utmost to find the best possible time to visit, taking into account weather conditions, tides, the direction of the light etc. Colin is also a joy to travel with. Kind, funny, and intelligent. If you don't produce some fantastic images, and have a wonderful time, I think that might be on you!

Colin made an incredible experience for "The Small Isles" trip i attended this july. His knowledge and coaching throughout was super helpful and i learnt alot about myself and new ways to "Look through the lens"

Also Colin has ensured that every aspect of the trip is 10/10 from the partners he chooses to work with to provide accomodation, food and transport. This all means that you can focus on enjoying the time together with Colin, the group and the landscape.

I already plan to attend another tour because i know it will be another fantastic experience.

This was a fantastic trip. The locations we went to were stunning, with endless photographic opportunities. Having Colin’s technical knowledge and experience, along with his familiarity of the area and access to local services made for an unforgettable tour – educational, informative and inspiring. It was well organized, professional and the food and accommodation at Gallanach Lodge was top class. I thoroughly recommend, I’ve already booked a different tour for next year.

This tour was excellent. The Gallanach Lodge on Muck was superb with gourmet food and a great selection of food for me as a vegetarian.
Having a boat to take us to various islands made for a wide variety of venues and photographic subjects.
All the people we came across worked hard to ensure we all had the best experiences (including a bespoke trip for one person and a sail around to another venue for me to avoid a difficult walk).
Most importantly we had Colin’s knowledge and expert tutoring to encourage us to take better images and I learnt a huge amount.
I am already looking at the next opportunity!
