Coleman Worldwide Moving/Allied Corruption
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE spare yourself the grief and don't hire Coleman Worldwide Moving/Allied! We have made several moves over the years and never encountered the disaster that we just experienced with this company. We have over 15 boxes missing. Countless items and furniture were damaged. TV and golf clubs are missing. The parts box to all of our furniture was missing, so all of our furniture was delivered disassembled. We paid for the 100% value insurance protection to protect ourselves at the begining of the move, and they are not honoring it. Spare yourself the anguish and cost of hiring an attorney and use a legitimate company that follows protocols and abides by the rules setforth by the FMCSA.
Unethical and Unprofessional
Driver was unprofessional, unethical, and didn't follow company protocol. Many items are missing/stolen or broken and company will take little responsibility or accountability. Buyers beware!!
Canceled at last minute
We scheduled our move and arranged things to move on a Friday to reduce costs and was told that a weekday move should be easy to schedule - especially in December - because almost no one moves in December. We signed their quote about 2 weeks before the move date. We were only moving about 1 mile in Henderson, NV.
72 hours before the move (and 48 hours) before they were to start packing us, they canceled. She simply said we overbooked that day. Wow!
They asked us if we'd move on Saturday instead. We agreed. The next day they informed us (by text) that they couldn't do that either. They simply do not stand behind their commitments. They are obviously not well organized and are poorly managed to allow this to occur.
If they had given us a week or so notice, we would have had time to find another mover. She said their other clients were booked before me, so they knew the date was overbooked (when I signed the quote) but they still didn't tell us until the last minute.
I received no recommendations for other companies, no help in solving our problem. Just a text saying sorry and canceling the move.
So if you have to move because your lease is up, or you sold your house, and cannot adjust the moving date at the last minute, you should avoid this company.
Pack Yourself And All Claims Will Be Denied
Be aware that all claims will be denied if you pack belongings yourself. Many boxes marked "Fragile" were placed at the bottom with heavy boxes on top. Boxes were crushed, but even though we paid an additional $1167 for "extra care protection," our claims were denied. The cost for our move was $28,707.
Coleman is another word for nightmare
Value
I only wish there was a zero star rating. The salesman talked real sweet game and told me that he’d be with us throughout the move. We moved across country and had a guaranteed rate. All of the sudden the weight of our shipment increased by 2000 pounds. Considering we had already sold our couch, king size bed, all the bedroom furniture, the dining room, and more things there is no way we increased but they demanded another $2000 or they would not deliver our items. they packed in such a way that we have more broken things than we have ever had and all the years we’ve been moving for business purposes. When you open the box and find no white paper to wrap your breakables, you just cry before you even get any further. We paid for unpacking service , and when the driver arrived, he had absolutely no idea that we had paid for a full unpack, and we have had to wait a full week for them to get people out to unpack. We were supposed to have a total of eight boxes that were for closing, and we got two, all of our clothes were taken off hangers, and the hangers placed on top of the clothes in the top of the box just loose laying around. fortunately we had furnished our new home prior to arrival or we would not have had anything that we could use to live. When we unpacked one box that had been in the truck, the driver brought it off, soaking wet, leaking chemicals, the people that Coleman hired to pack us packed chemicals from under the sink that they were told not to pack, and the chemicals exploded in the truck and on top of that , we had food in the same box rocket science tells me you don’t mix under the sink items with food. The driver said he picked up the load from the warehouse floor. We had been told it was going right onto a moving truck that it was being shuttle from our home to an 18 wheeler that also turned out to be a lie . Our items sat in a warehouse for seven days. So if you want a really eventful move one where nothing is packed correctly and the service is below one star then call Coleman Allied if you expect service quality guarantee and professionalism call anybody but them I’m sure U-Haul could’ve done better .
Coleman packers in Texas were the…
Coleman packers in Texas were the worst! Many personal items that can never be replaced were damaged completely. And all I get is their 'claims' people with Eagle Services telling me to send pictures and the woman in the claims department says she can't open the attachments or the zip files????
WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER
WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER! Misquoted entire load, had to book 2nd load taking 1/2 a month to get, didn't put bed or bedding needed on 1st load, broke countless items, packers walked off job, ran out of boxes, charged $40K and left us to pack own stuff, dumped drawers on floor, crushed delicate boxes, customer service doesn't care - nightmare start to finish on every level imaginable! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Where to start, they packed nice glassware (obviously not cheap stuff) inside one another without anything to separate it. Glasses broke. At least one entire box has disappeared that contained over half a dozen cast iron skillets. The fridge, looked like Wolverine tried to take a swipe at it and now the ice maker won't work. The best part, the incompetent thieves they have to deal with the damage, said the ice maker won't stay cold enough because the seal on the freezer part shows wear....they didn't even check a single electronic component. I've moved close to 10 times all over this country and this was by far the worst experience ever. This was the one and only time I'll ever use this garbage company.
Complete Failure To Take Responsibility For Their Actions
Like the prior reviewer if I could give zero stars I would. They lost things that cannot be replaced - literally lost them - and worse, have failed to take action to find them. These things have very significant value to us, but with regard to some of
them little or no value to others. A chair that belongs to someone else was dropped off at our house. We told them, but they did nothing to get it and deliver it to its owner. They obviously do not even care Dumping us off on a separate company (essentially an insurance company) and telling us to file a claim does no good. The insurance company does not communicate, and it will not make any effort to locate our things. This company's abject failure to even attempt to remedy it's mistakes has made this a terrible experience. STAY AWAY.
If I could give this move NO stars I…
If I could give this move NO stars I would. I specifically requested that packing be done by the company and bought full value replacement insurance as well. They left a metal ramp on my grass and burned my yard, they packed a priceless venetian glass piece of art by wrapping it in a bath towel and throwing it in the top of a dish barrel that arrived visibly creased/dented/torn at the destination. They used a good fur coat to pad a box of china. The art they packed arrived in a box that was slashed on the side (as was the backing of the art) and the frame was broken. Multiple pieces of crystal and china were broken. The delivery truck was lost for over a week. The insurance company was a nightmare to deal with and decided they would not reimburse me for most of the items that were broken because I dared to glue the one big piece of the art glass back to the statue. The adjuster was a witch and very passive aggressive. I have moved 50 times and NEVER had an experience like this one.
Packers arrived on time and were…
Packers arrived on time and were courteous throughout the process. I was thoroughly impressed with the care and respect given to us and our personal property.
Coleman Allied is the worst moving company
If you care about your belongings, do not choose Coleman Allied. I moved from Texas to Iowa. The move cost was about $16,000. The company lost my favorite couch, damaged all my furniture, lost shelves, ruined a China cabinet, lost parts of my grill and patio furniture, destroyed a bed, and dragged one of my mattresses through mud. Oh!!! they also delivered legs of a piece of furniture that is not mine (likely a sofa), so another poor customer may have a sofa without legs!!!! In response to my detailed claim report, which included pictures and descriptions, the company offered $1100, which does not even cover the mattress. It was the worst experience I had with movers in my whole life.
They deserve zero stars.

Moving and storage service

I can't say enough good things about those who packed our belongings. They did an excellent job. We had many breakable items, lots of dishes, glasses, glass cookware, pictures, etc. Only a very few of these arrived damaged. However, that's where the great service ended. Whoever scheduled the move (1600 square ft house, estimated by the moving company personnel to be 13550 lbs) sent a truck that was ALREADY 60% FULL!!! This resulted in them having to send additional trucks and personnel. Given this was not planned, chaos ensued due to no single person being in charge. Items were being loaded without identifying tags, the required forms weren't being filled out. I called the move coordinator and complained. She then made a call to the personnel on site and some, not much, but some order was restored. So, instead of all of my items being on one truck, they are now on 3 different trucks. Two of those are local trucks, so I'm told the items in them will be taken to the local warehouse and packed on a long distance truck. What I'm NOT TOLD is that they won't arrive along with the items loaded on the originally scheduled long distance truck. Then, the long distance truck breaks down. It takes over 5 days to repair the truck. Do you think they brought another truck so items would arrive on time? Well, no, they DID NOT. DIDN'T receive any communication for days from the move coordinator. Finally, 3 days after original delivery date, the truck driver called to say he'd be here the following day. When he arrived, he off loaded items he had on the long distance truck and asked me to sign forms indicating delivery of ALL items. I refused to sign forms for items that weren't on his truck and therefore not delivered. After some discussion he finally relented and wrote that items weren't included on the forms. It's now 3 + weeks since my guaranteed delivery date and I'm still waiting on about 4500 lbs of items. I have yet to hear from anyone in management despite repeated requests that someone call me. I also filled out and submitted the on line complaint form to no avail.
Response from the owner a day ago
Louis, we regret that you were not pleased with you recent relocation. We have shared your feedback to both our customer care and quality teams and have asked that someone provide you with an update.
7/21/22 - I am still waiting for an update. Louis Slade
7/25/22 - No update yet, so I filed complaints with BBB and FMCSA.
Worst experience in my life
Worst experience in my life. These guys moved me from Atlanta to Florida. Promised it would be seamless. They caused what over $40,000 in damage to my furniture. I had insurance and then they offered me $13,000 as a settlement. We went with them because we had expensive furniture and they sold us on a white glove service. It was total BS. Do not trust Jason Hakim.
The worst experience of my life
The worst experience of my life. I have moved from Alberta to Houston Tx with no issues and from Houston to Midland Tx with no issues. My adventure started with ever incompetent Jeff Newman and Kayla Costelloe. After failing to contact me to inform what date my goods would require me to meet at customs. I was hit with an additional $5k usd charge to unload in Edmonton and then move to Grande Prairie AB. Keep in my mind i had already paid over $17k usd to move from Midland Tx to Grande Prairie AB. at this point they had my goods hostage and threatened to charge outrageous storage fees until i paid the additional $5k moving fee. When my goods finally arrived in Grande Prairie I actually had to help unload the truck as they didn't bring enough staff to perform the job. Then to top all of this off, I pointed out that one of items had been damaged to the driver. He failed to inform me that I needed to note that on the deliver sheet so now they are refusing my claim. In addition to the driver I emailed Kayla during the delivery to inform her that I had a damaged item and she too failed to inform me to mark it on delivery sheet but provided a claims form. I am still being denied any reimbursement, due to complete incompetence of the Coleman/Allied staff. Go somewhere else for your move. -2 star is possible.
Unreliable comms and planning
Comms and planning is very poor within the company, I've been following up on delivery date every two days, with no clear answer. If you need reliable dates and comms, I don't recommend.
Do NOT Use Them!
From start to finish, this move has been a nightmare. The load date was not "entered into the system" correctly only come to find out that the agent never updated the paperwork. They then had to "find packers" last minute and it showed in the number of broken items. Even on the load date, the movers packing packed with little care of attention to detail. Then, when it came time to setting my move date (my items were in storage for a time), I missed a critical window because the agent did not understand and/or explain the process at all. I was also forced to sign a move addendum increasing my cost by close to $800 because of the "time of year," which was never in my contract or explained to me at the beginning. It took me reaching out to Sirva customer service to get the simplest answer of whether I needed to obtain metered parking on my own or whether Allied would do it. (I have many email communications to verify the statements above.) Then, on delivery date, the driver did not know that they were unpacking. We ended up unpacking 90% of the boxes ourselves. I have moved across country 2x and internationally once, not including intrastate moves. I have never had such terrible communication and care, nor have I had so many items damaged or simply missing. Your tagline is a untrue. You are not "careful" at all and in fact are incredibly careless. I will be reaching out via social media and beyond to ensure others do not suffer this. All in, not including the damages and missing items, I have paid ~$15,000 for my move that should have been seamless. I have also paid for services you were supposed to provide (e.g., unpacking). Also, as an fyi, my driver told me that lighters were packed by Allied packers, which is a fire hazard, could have destroyed lives and property. Again, careless. I will forever warn anyone against using your company. That said, the two lights in the darkness, were Madison at customer care and Steven, my driver, who both did the best they could under the circumstances.
Moved my elderly parents from Georgia…
Moved my elderly parents from Georgia to Florida. They had a driveway with narrow turning access. The rep came out and assured them that a straight truck would be needed due to the nature of the neighborhood and their driveway. They explained that there would not be a problem entering their property with that particular truck. HOWEVER, on the morning of the move, a large tractor trailer showed up. We explained that they told us a straight truck would be sent. We were told they would try to call and get the correct truck. The truck was unavailable. We were then told they would have to send a U-Haul truck and make trips back-and-forth between the incorrect tractor trailer they sent and my parents’ house. We were also told there would be numerous charges added to the bill at that time. My elderly parents were standing in their driveway with all of their belongings packed and ready to go. There was no way to change what was happening. We were also told to call and explain what had happened to the area supervisor. Upon making that phone call, we were told it was not their fault and we would have to pay the extra $1000. Basically, you signed the contract- so pay. It is clearly written on the contract that we have that a straight truck was to be sent, but they continue to badger my father over the extra money and have even threatened him with legal action. It saddens me that a business such as this is allowed to lie and bully its customers. Beware of extra charges, and pack your valuables yourself. Many items were broken in the move. We had used them prior to this, but will not use them in our upcoming move.
Beware...
Beware - cherry picked reviews! This company has no business quoting new business when they cannot resource the work they have contracted now. Where are our belongings? Five days late and counting. No ETA in sight!
PLEASE READ BEFORE USING ALLIED!!!
PLEASE READ BEFORE USING COLEMAN ALLIED!!!!
First off, I have moved domestically and internationally via professional moving services more than 5 times in the past decade, and have never had a worse experience. I would STRONGLY ADVOSE using anyone else, including doing the work yourself, as our experience ended up costing us much MUCH more than we paid for the service ($14,000 BTW...)
First Major Issue: 22 Days Late
We had several quotes for full service moving (full packing, moving, unloading, and treadmill service). We chose Allied due to the fact that they had "availability" and could get us into our home 2 - 6 days after our load day. Giving us a month to get settled in before our planned summer vacation. Not only did our things take 30+ days to arrive, we had ZERO visibility to when they would arrive. We lived for 4 weeks on hard floors, air mattresses, dining out, and little entertainment for our kids (we have a 3 and 5 year old btw...). The delay also resulted in us cancelling out July 4th family vacation, as we only brought a weeks worth of items.
2nd Major Issue: Many Items Never Showed Up!
After half of our summer, and missed holiday were spent on hardwood floors and camping chairs our moving day arrived... We were sooo relieved. That was until the movers completed the unloading and we did not have any of our living room couches, our dining table, or our treadmill. So our floor living continues.... We are now 8 days past the unpack date, and still have no idea when these critical pieces of furniture will arrive. It turns our our couches were shipped to Michigan, and our other times never left Houston (our move was from Texas to Tennessee)... I have reached our via LinkedIn to Sr. Leadership who have been completely unresponsive, and all I can get out of the Customer Service group is that "they are working on it."
3rd Major Issue: More damage than any other move in the past
I do understand that some damage can be done in transit, but we had about 10 boxes that look like they were left in the rain (mold growing on the inside) after sitting water logged in the Texas, or Tennessee, or Michigan heat for weeks and weeks.
We are now asking that we be reimbursed for a UHAUL and gas, so that I can drive 10 hours to Michigan to pick up my own things... Otherwise, we are running the risk of not having seating or dinning furniture in place when family is scheduled to visit in August...
YOU WILL LOSE OUT ON MONTHS OF YOUR LIFE, AND THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF $$$ IF YOU ARE MOVING ACROSS STATES WITH COLEMAN ALLIED.
