Phishing emails pretending to come from Google
In unsolicited emails from this company someone pretends to be a Google employee. She writes, "I'm part of the team responsible for Google Cloud Platform accounts. I have contacted you about your Google Cloud consumption, and I'm contacting you to optimize your Cloud environment."
The email was sent to a domain not associated with my Google account. The source code shows she spoofed an email address - attaching her own name to this domain as a sender.
There are multiple references to Google in the email, such as the company's Mountain View address. I am asked to set up a call by clicking a button. The source shows the cloudplatformonline.com domain name instead.
There are a number of grammatical mistakes in the email. And the initial email is followed up by at least two similar emails.
I firmly believe this is a phishing attempt.
