The subscription plans really need to be more thought out. You created the plans, yet you make it very difficult for users to stay within the plan. When we exceeded the plan limit and try to reorganize & move the assets away from Cloudinary, we end up exceeding the plan limit even more. This becomes very frustrating, since we are locked into the plan and can't make the changes without exceeding the limit. We can see how much each of our plan credits represents, but there is no easy way to see the percentage of the plan we used. Your system should be smart enough to see that we decreased our usage and would not be exceeding the plan in the next billing period. We've dealt with this twice already and it ruins the the experience of using your otherwise amazing platform. Storing files on your platform is expensive - so create better tooling to simplify transformation & offloading process.

Used for the first time and I had serious issues where my account access was denied because of the usage that I had exceeded.

The Cloudinary Team was so helpful that they saved fixed my issue with an exception and saved my day.

First of all, their plans are simply over the top expensive. From free the next jump is 100$, nothing in between. I would have needed half of what the 100$ plan gives but no way, had to pay the full thing. Then I found other solutions, orders of magnitudes cheaper, moved to those. My idea was to downgrade to the free plan while I migrate slowly the images from them. Nope no way. They require you to pay one more full month for no reason. So even if you have no more usage they look back in time to determine your current situation. Predatory company to be avoided.
Contacting support gets you nowhere, the team there have a backward logic.

They will shut down your account if you go over your quota by 0.01%, instead of charging overages like everyone they will send you nasty emails threatening to shut you down even if you've been a paying customer for years and pay them hundreds of dollars a month. What an absolute joke of a company.

I would avoid them like the plague if you can and find a reasonable pay as you go service. Their business model is toxic and their support is abysmal.

I wish I had never signed up for Cloudinary, it was a huge mistake, but will be moving on as soon as feasible.

They don't say that your account will be blocked at first. You add your files then suddenly they block it and you can't even download your assets until paying 100 dollars monlty costs. Not any platform betrayed me like them.
