Tony was my guide in Beijing. He was very knowledgeable and always on time for pickups. We ate at good spots and he was even kind enough to help me out when my Alipay didn’t work properly. They were patient and we did everything on the itinerary. As a solo female traveler I always felt safe and I would definitely recommend him

We just returned from a 10 day 4 city ( Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Shanghai) Panda experience with China Tours. What an amazing and culturally insightful trip it was.

Our first contact with Lora (who arranged the tour for us) was seamless and easy. We booked the trip well in advance and as one would expect changes need to be made as we got close to our departure date. Lora kept us informed and up to date the entire time. Provide us with all the needed information, form getting visa to a clear and easy to understand packet of information on what to expect once we arrived in China.

All of our accommodation were lovely and in good location.

We were meet by local tour guide on arrival in each for the 4 city we visited.

In Beijing Nancy was waiting for us just outside of the customs gate. She is so energetic that I knew the minute we met we were in good hands. Nancy took the rains and got us to all the sights we wanted to see at times that were the best for viewing taking in to consideration season and weather conditions.

Summer was our Xi'an guide, she is a wonderful person who clearly takes pride in showing folks around her native city. Her knowledge of the Terracotta Warriors is vast and up to date.

Jonny was our Panda guy in Chengdu. This man knows pandas and clearly loves them. It was such a special treat to be so up close to these amazing animals.

Shanghai was the last stop which was made special by Warren who also was very knowledgeable about his hometown. This was the shortest legs of the trip and we did not get to spend much time with him but that did not impede his sharing of long history of Shanghai, we felt we got to see so much.

Again all of the guides were fantastic it felt more like we were visiting old friends. Honestly we did not want to leave any of them when the time came. We will hold these memories close to our hearts.

Micheal, our tour guide with Beijing was amazing. He had a lot of knowledge about the city and always got us involved with many group photos, organising our amazing lunches and activities throughout the days.
We received many lovely gifts from Micheal which made it very special and showed that he cared about us all.
I wish he was our tour guide for the rest of the trip. 10/10 for Micheal and China tours.

We did the 4 city 10-day tour (Beijing, Xian, Chengdu and Shanghai) earlier this month (April 2026) and everything was fantastic. All the hotels we were booked at were top of the line and very centrally located so we could walk around and really experience the sights and sounds of the people of those cities and enjoy the local food. All the guides were very knowledgeable and with very high fluency in English. We would definitely use their service again and I highly recommend this company.

China Tours provided me with detailed itinerary of the cities we would visit in our first trip to China (many thanks to Lora). First stop was Beijing and our guide, Jessica, set a very high standard that gave us high hopes for the trip. Her knowledge of the city and the sites we visited were exemplary. She, and our driver, navigated us through the crowds with aplomb. Even when we had to visit a local hospital to get my wife some antibiotics it was done without any stress. Thank you Jessica for an amazing introduction to China and its people.

We loved our tour of Beijing. Our tour guide was Nancy and she was so knowledgeable, friendly, positive and helpful. She helped us to have a great time and we learned a lot!

Tony and our driver made the experience great! Tony was always so thoughtful and helpful. I asked him if he knew anyone who did acupuncture for my back pain. He made a phone call and got an excellent recommendation. Not only were we taken to the clinic, he and our driver waited for the procedure to finish! My husband and I were overwhelmed with gratitude. Tony is genuinely a one in a million guy. I cannot say enough good things about Tony.

Our guide in Beijing, Tony, was an incredible tour guide. He was a pleasure to spend time with. His knowledge of the history of each site was great. He made our first visit to Beijing very memorable. I couldn’t imagine visiting this city without his guidance and assistance. Thanks, Tony!!

We booked a private tour that was a little complicated - 5 cities and a Yangtze river cruise. I had to leave after the first four days and the rest of my family continued for the rest of the 2 week trip. They worked so well with us to schedule activities and accommodate last minute suggestions and changes. An English speaking guide met us at every city and having a driver made getting around a cinch (though traffic in Beijing and Xian is awful). Even daily changes to the plan were handled professionally.
I would recommend China Tours to anyone looking to schedule a trip to China.
April is a great time to visit, weather was beautiful and lots of flowers everywhere.
Cities visited were Beijing, Xi'an, Chongqing, ZhangJiaJie (Avatar mountains), and Shanghai.

Kobeyi was our guide for a two day stay in Xi'an. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the history and culture of the city. He ensured we had a great experience everywhere we visited and catered to our needs at every stage. Highly recommend.

Kobeyi was very accomodating and knowledgeable of Xi’an. We had the pleasure of Kobeyi’s guidance in Xi’an when we visited the Teracotta Warriors, Muslim quarter and City Wall. He provided us with an appropriate about of information at each sight without being overbearing. He assisted us with good lunch recommendations and helped us exchange cash on request. His best recommendation was to go back to the Drum and Bell Towers of a night time to see them lit up.

Our first part of our tour in China was in Beijing with Nancy who was our tour guide and best friend to have here . We have done a lot of tours in many different countries and must say Nancy has been one of the best . She was knowledgeable, informative, engaging and extremely helpful .She adapted and adjusted our excursions based on what we wanted to do and see and how long we wanted to stay /visit at each attraction . If you are planning on visiting Beijing you must request Nancy

China Tours provided an outstanding service for our time in Beijing. Our guide Tony was so accommodating and professional whilst also being fun and making our tour so enjoyable. Tony was extremely knowledgeable and provided just the right amount of information for each location we visited. He went above and beyond and we couldn’t recommend him highly enough.

Our tour of Beijing with the number one tour guide Tony was awesome. His knowledge of all the areas we visited was outstanding and he took his time answer any questions we had. He was more than happy to cater to any requests outside of our planned itinerary too. He was also one of the funniest guys I’ve had the pleasure of meeting which made the tours much more enjoyable. Wish we could have taken him as our guide for the rest of our holiday. Definitely recommend booking through China Tours and request Tony if you can. He’s a bloody legend!

The western media likes to push a certain narrative about China and how it is very strict and police-controlled but that was dispelled after day one.
Laws, rules , and regulations were being broken constantly, from motorcyclists not wearing helmets to driving on the pavement.

The city was impeccably clean, the subway incredible, the people very friendly and helpful, our guide genuinely enthusiastic about China and like a friend.

One thing to note is that at home, you’d miss not having your phone, here it is essential. You really need WeChat or Alipay to pay for anything, often with no alternative. And other English language versions of Chinese apps for getting around such as DiDi, Amap, Beijing Subway. And set up a reliable e-sim before you travel.

Then of course there’s the Great Wall.

Phoenix was our tour guide at Xian with China Tours. She was a caring and thoughtful guide! She met us with punctuality and provided very good explanations. Highly recomiended.

My family and I traveled in March/April 2026. In Beijing, we were lucky enough to be paired with Ling Ling (Linda) as a guide and Wang as a driver.

I’m a pretty experienced traveler, but I was traveling with my two boys, wife, and parents. Linda and Wang were fantastic, we always felt safe with when driving, and let me tell you that’s not an easy feat and in Beijing and the area around it due to all the traffic and cars/bikes/busses on the road.

I also cannot say enough good things about Linda. She was so good with my boys, your age 8 and 10, always making them feel involved, taking care to chat with them, find out about what they like/dislike, and tailer our trip to ensure that they were always involved and interested.

My mother is also disabled, it has a hard time walking far distances. Ling Ling was so thoughtful, always making sure that my mom was able to be involved, and taking care to think of her when we had to walk from point A to B. She would help her with her collapsible stool, and hold her arm when going up/down the stairs.

If you ever have a chance to visit Beijing, you cannot do better than Ling Ling and Wang. We felt super safe, cared for, and had a tour that we will never forget.
