We used China Highlights to organise a three-week private tour from Hong Kong into mainland China, covering Shenzhen, Chongqing, Chengdu, the mountains around Jiuzhaigou, and the beaches of Sanya. The entire experience was exceptionally well managed and exceeded expectations.

The itinerary was thoughtfully planned and ran smoothly throughout. Our travel consultant, Liberman Li, coordinated a fairly complex, multi-city trip with several bespoke requests and was consistently responsive, professional, and detail-oriented. Special thanks to him.

The on-the-ground experience was equally impressive. In every city, guides introduced themselves via WeChat ahead of arrival, creating a seamless and reassuring experience. Each guide was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely proud to showcase their city. Thanks to Andy (Shenzhen), Jane (Chengdu), Peter (Jiuzhaigou), and our Hong Kong driver Mr. Liang.

We were particularly grateful for the exceptional support in Chongqing when my wife required emergency medical care. Our guide Rambo and driver Mr. Li went far beyond expectations, guiding us through the hospital system with efficiency and care. Valerie in Sanya was equally helpful with follow-up treatment--support that made a real difference at a critical moment.

This was a memorable and very well-run trip that gave us a great insight into China. We highly recommend China Highlights for anyone considering a private tour and would definitely use them again.

Leah has worked with us for about a year and half. The first departure date was September 2025 but had to be changed because of a bicycle accident which caused us to delay the trip. China Highlights had no issue with us changing the date to May 2026. Leah worked with me on many changes because as I read she answered my questions and honestly answered if was a good idea or not. Such as she said try listening to Chinese Opera before making a decision. Good piece of information. Leah was always prompt in answering our questions. We discussed with her adding a few days in Hong Kong and she was honest and said that we would be able to handle the trip on our own as we have traveled extensively around the world. The trip in May 2026 has again been cancelled/delayed because of the war in the Middle East. Our flight through Doha was cancelled. We still plan to use Leah for our trip in 2027. When the flight was cancelled, China Highlights provided the refund within 7 days. Very positive experience

Per l’organizzazione del nostro viaggio in Cina, avendo tempi ristretti e la curiosità di diversi luoghi abbiamo deciso di affidarci ad un’agenzia locale che ci coordinasse tutto il viaggio. La scelta di Chinahighlights si è verificata un’ottima scelta fin da subito, nella parte organizzativa siamo stati seguiti da Fiorella, che ci ha dato consigli utilissimi su come modificare l’itinerario che avevamo in mente in base ai tempi di spostamento ed al nostro budget, modificando ed adattando il percorso in base ai nostri interessi. Le risposte ai nostri quesiti ed ai nostri dubbi sono sempre state veloci e precise sentendoci sempre ben seguiti fin da subito. Causa le note vicende geopolitiche abbiamo dovuto prima mettere in dubbio il viaggio e poi fortunatamente apportare delle modifiche al nostro programma, ma anche in questo caso Fiorella non ha mai creato problemi venendoci in contro con soluzioni che ci hanno permesso di fare un’ottima esperienza di viaggio. Le guide e gli autisti avuti durante tutto il percorso sono state ineccepibili per competenza ed affidabilità. Gli spostamenti interni ben programmati con un’alternanza di treni ed aerei che ci hanno permesso di gestire i tempi morti di trasferimento nel migliore dei modi. Le strutture sempre di altissimo livello direi sopra le aspettative, l’unica eccezione ad Hong Kong dove però la scelta è stata obbligata per assecondare delle nostre richieste, in ogni caso la struttura era più che dignitosa. Ci è rimasto un ottimo ricordo di questo viaggio anche grazie ad un’ottima organizzazione.

Quedamos muy satisfechos con los guías y tours por eso ahora en 2026 volvimos a usar sus servicios, esta vez para un viaje privado en pareja incluyendo China, Laos y Tailandia. I used China Highlights' services for a trip to China in 2011. We were very satisfied with the guides and tours, so in 2026 we used their services again, this time for a private trip for two including China, Laos, and Thailand. We had a fabulous time in Bejing with our tour guide Tom. We had many conversations about the history, culture and philosophy of China and also discussed the technology especially the discussions about energy. Really changed the way we view the world. He also gave us a complimentary tour of Hugon neighborhood and taught us calligraphy. He was a great caring guide and our driver Peter was also great. Hope to come back again and do another Tour. I booked a family holiday to China and Hong Kong through CHANDLER for 17 days in March and April. We visited Shanghai, Beijing, Xi’an, Chongqing, Zhangjiajie, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
CHANDLER put together a personal itinerary and covered the cities and sights we wanted to see and he also recommended others.
CHANDLER’s communication was always very prompt. Whatever annoying question I asked was never a problem and CHANDLER even looked into places he was unsure of even visiting a Family Ancestral Memorial Hall in Guangzhou.
We had an absolutely awesome time visiting China and Hong Kong and would fully recommend CHANDLER in putting together an itinerary for yourself.
We had no problems at all whilst on holiday. Everything ran very smoothly and was very organised. Nothing was ever a problem. He even checked in with us a couple of times during our holiday.

We started planning our epic one month tour of China 5 months ago. Private Trip planner Mia Jie helped develop our extensive itinerary. 2 of us did the slightly > 1 week Yunnan tour to Kunming, Dali, Lijiang and Shangrila. This agency and Ms Carrie (our planner) made things so stress free and easy plus it was tailored to exactly what we wanted with last minute flexibility if needed.

After much research, it was clear that China Highlights was the company to use for our trip planning to China. The reviews were not wrong. Our planner, Suki, made the process so easy! She asked good questions and made great recommendations as well as answered all or our questions quickly. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and have already talked about needing to come back to see more of China; which we will absolutely be using China Highlights to do so.
