Check My Tax Refund Recenzje 

This was recommended to me by my company but I am worried it is a scam. Emails get bounced back, unable to access the website and never get an answer to phone calls. I would avoid this place like the plague.

I’m now concerned that this is a scam company who take money and then ask for personal details and don’t do anything
It was recommended by my professional body so had no reason to suspect wrong doing but can’t get hold of anybody on phone and email address can’t be found !
I would avoid at all costs

I feel I have no choice but to leave a one star review for this company.
It is impossible to get anybody in this company to talk to me. They do not answer the phone and have failed to call me back after repeated messages have been left on their phone system.

I have emailed two email addresses including the info@ email address they have supplied (stating they typically respond within 24 hours) a previous reviewer. No answer. At this point I feel scammed.
Prior to my contact with them they sent me a request to access my HMRC income details, which I authorised. I then received the same request to do so the following week. I have tried to reach them in order to address this issue but they refuse to respond to emails and/or answer the phone. At this point I give up. Avoid.

This company does what they say. Just received my rental tax back from them again. Money is paid to me and I pay them for the service after. They have a high fee yes, but at least I know it's done every year for me and done right

Said I would get 3500€ never got anything said they would email in a week to find out why I didn't get it that been 2 months don't use them I got nothing

Scammers- horrible- cheating- Run away from the company- this is not IRD its an agent, but 100% fraud and scammers- once signed they will send you invoices gor non using their services- if not paid they will send another invoice with 200% overdue fines..

Scammers!!! Stay away of them!! Just left the Garda after I reported them, they took my money on my behalf from Revenue ( even if I removed them as agent after I applied with them in 2024 - never received anything. On January 2025 they took the rent tax on my behalf but they never paid me, saying i never sent them the card details . Of course I didn't why would i get 50% of my payment???? Contacted a solicitor also and will take legal action CHECK MY TAX YOU ARE ILLEGAL

Don’t do it , they will charge you 29% out of the money you will get back .

These people never paid me any money, I received a letter saying that I have a refund and check my group did not give me a penny, it had been over a year and I received a letter from HMRC advising that they will process a court order to get my refund back because the court has frozen their bank account…. I wonder why? I will ensure that they do not take any further money from me. I tried calling them but number doesn’t ring and I have emailed them multiple times no reply. This company is a scam stat far away!

Stay away from this company, I did not sign anything to give them permission to act on my behalf.they changed my bank details to theirs on my revenue and I can’t contact them. The phone number goes to a voicemail and their website just says not taking anymore customers. I will be going to the guards to report this.

Disgraceful altogether. Daylight robbers. Very quick to take all your hard earned cash in a large fee for the pleasure of getting your tax back but won't even give you your balance! They take your money and there's no sign of it coming back to you. Stay away. It's so easy to just sort out your own tax on the the phone or online.

Just a bit of advice to anyone considering using this company, please do not. They charge a fee of 29% plus VAT which is extortionate and there is no need for anyone to engage a company like this to claim a tax refund unless your tax affairs are very complicated. If you have overpaid PAYE in the year, the Revenue will automatically calculate your refund and you will receive your tax refund without any intervention by any third party. All you need to do is request a statement of liability on your ROS account. Claiming tax relief on medical expenses or rent credit etc is also very straightforward and the steps are explained on the Revenue system - Revenue will also give you assistance in claiming tax refunds if you contact them. A very important point to notE on this also is that from January 2025 Revenue no longer allow ANY tax agent to include THEIR BANK DETAILS on your ROS account. Therefore the likes of Check My Tax can no longer receive your refund into their bank account and so their business model is considerably weakened as you the taxpayer will receive the refund and check my tax won't be able to hold your money until their extortionate fee is paid. It's no coincidence that they are no longer taking new customers.... it is no longer financially viable for them to "claim" they have your permission to act on your behalf and receive your tax refund on your behalf as Revenue will not allow them to do this. I was told by check my tax that as you progress through their website, they are generating authorisation forms in the background which are then digitally signed on your behalf and sent to Revenue. You may not be aware that as you are progressing through their system ( possibly just trying to see what you could be entitled to) they are taking this as authourisation to act on your behalf, change your bank account details to theirs and claim your refund. Their "fee" is hidden in their terms and conditions as is the fact that they will continue to claim your refund each year unless you specifically stop them by email. From January 2025 they are no longer able to change your bank details to theirs so that has a serious impact on their financial model. They also claim that the are approved by Revenue but if you look on the Revenue website, Revenue do not approve any tax agent. Please remember that in the majority of cases the refund can be obtained vey simply by the individual themselves. Please do not get caught in paying huge fees to any of these tax refund companies

Constant spam texts (talking 16 in the span of 2 minutes) and harassment but when it comes to actually getting rid of them they're impossible to deal with. Been trying to get them to stop for years at this point and they won't. Just get a snarky response about how they don't do that!
Not to mention the ridiculous % they take, which has gone up and up in the years with no email/text to explain this either. Other companies take a MUCH lower amount.
Edit to add: and here they are to say the don't do that; I've checked and checked and it was 100% them. Not going to give them my details to continue to get harassed.

Avoid this company like the plague!
I had nothing but stress and anxiety trying to get just information from them. After many steps speaking to the Inland Revenue, my solicitor and the police I finally got my money, a month after they received payment from the Inland Revenue. Not to mention a 30% fee.
Reputable companies charge about 10%.
Avoid this shower of crooks.

Great company! Claimed back my taxes that revenue were refusing to give me. I’ve had two refunds from this company , one in August and then again in January without any issue. Although the charge is quite high, it’s money I’ve gotten back that I didn’t know I was entitled to. They submitted my 2024 tax returns without me having to do it and got me more back than I got last year ! Very happy with my experience and will certainly be using them again

Never gave them permission to use details or claim tax back for myself.
My husband used them and we had separate tax received a letter from the tax office stating u was due a refund and it be in my account in 7/10 days when I went to my on line account with revenue I noticed my bank account details had been changed to there account and I had not delt with these my husband also swore he only gave my name not my pps number I for sure will be going the garda fraud squid about this company no reply toy emails hanging up on me when I call then the number they have on line is mot contact able this should be highlighted across the board

Very poor company I removed this company along with my husband to represent us on the 5/3/24 ( I have the confirmation email as proof)for all revenue claims yet this year again they acted on our behalf how is this possible. And no replies received to any emails sent.

It was great service. I didn’t had to do anything. It was all done for me. I jest give my bank account details true email. Then, I got my money in no time. It took about 2 days.

29% + VAT !!!! Absolute madness!! I dont know how are they functioning. Clearly deceptive marketing and somewhere in long and lengthy terms and conditions the fees is mentioned.
Beware they also mention in the terms and conditions that they are going to process your tax every year and will only inform you once they have processed your refund.
