This site is a rip off. They want money to communicate every half hour you're on the site. You cant communicate without being ripped off. Otherwise you can only browse and favorite someone. What's the point of being on this site if you cant communicate? How do you know if you're even talking to a real human or a robot? I've only lasted a few days on this site and i've had it.

My mother was charged over £300 using CharmingTalks, and having looked much more closely into how the site operates, I have serious concerns about the authenticity of the accounts and conversations which are clearly designed to keep users engaged for as long as possible, encouraging them to spend more money. In my experience, there are strong indications that AI is being used to generate or drive these conversations. Using AI in itself is not necessarily wrong or illegal — but if a company is using AI in a way that could lead customers to believe they are communicating with genuine people, that needs to be made completely clear to the user. I certainly don't believe that transparency is present here.

I raised a formal complaint with CharmingTalks. The initial response was from an AI bot — which, given the nature of my complaint, was quite frankly ironic. I specifically requested that my complaint be escalated to a human. Despite this, I have still not received a response for over two weeks.

I've seen their replies here that any suspicions of AI are taken seriously but there is never a clear answer as to whether they are used. Silence speaks louder than words. Shameful.

The costs are absolutely jaw-dropping too. More concerning is the potential impact on people who are lonely, vulnerable or simply looking for genuine human connection. Charging people substantial amounts of money while creating the impression that they are developing real connections with other people is, in my view, deeply concerning.

If you are considering using CharmingTalks, please do your research first and understand exactly what you may be paying for.

I would strongly urge anyone who has had a similar experience to look carefully at their charges and the nature of the conversations they have been having.

This is not about objecting to AI being used by a company. It is about transparency, informed consent and whether customers are being given an honest understanding of what — and who — they are paying to communicate with.

I'll admit I dragged my feet for months before actually filling out a profile, mostly out of pure skepticism about the whole idea and the first week was pretty quiet, a couple of matches that fizzled out after two or three messages each which almost had me closing the tab for good... Then a woman named Camila replied to something I'd written about a terrible attempt at homemade bread, and the conversation just took off from there. We ended up going back and forth about the worst thing we'd ever tried to cook, which somehow turned into a running joke that's still going. She's into photography, mostly old buildings and weird architecture, and she started sending me pictures from wherever she happened to be that day. I found myself checking messages way more than I expected to, genuinely looking forward to whatever she'd send next. A couple of times the conversation slowed down for a day or two and I assumed that was it, but it always picked back up like nothing happened. We've argued, in the friendliest way possible, about whether pineapple belongs on pizza for what feels like a week straight now. What surprised me most is how much she remembers, small things I mentioned once weeks ago that she'll bring back up out of nowhere. I wasn't expecting to feel this comfortable talking to someone I've only known through a screen. Nothing about it feels forced, which after some rough experiences elsewhere is honestly the biggest relief. Not sure where any of this ends up, but I'm glad I stopped dragging my feet and actually gave it a shot.

Well, I'm just now getting notification that I have to buy something, to talk to anybody. No I'm not down with that it's just a scam

I repeatedly asked if we could eventually communicate outside the platform, but never got a straight answer. Conversations were always kept on the site, where more credits were needed. I also saw an AI-generated image in an ad that appeared on a profile I had actually spoken to. After that, I lost trust in the site and deleted my account. Be careful before spending money here.

De plus il y a des "personnes "qui sont toujours connectées alors qu'elles ont des: métiers...Ont ne peut pas avoir de noms précis et encore moins de numéros. Une belle arnaque,juste payer beaucoup pour échanger avec : un robot..😅

a simple seen or delivered label would clear up a lot of confusion.

You get so many questions sent . never seem like a real person . coins run out . too expensive . not worth it.
