Hopeless.
As a seller I was a victim of an unscrupulous buyer who wanted to take advantage. Buyer failed and raised a case with carousell which gotten my account suspended. Without having an opportunity to explain or state my case / reasons. Wake up carousell. You're losing supporters. Look at the reviews here.
Tje admins are incapable of even simple assessment of a claim made, to assess if it's legit or not.
And they just suspend an account like that.
And I can't even speak with a person to explain.
Carousell is getting bad to worse. They are very bad at identifying the real scammers.
It's just time to move on.
Carousell started off well. But will become obsolete in time to come.
Carousell will act to remove your…
Carousell will act to remove your listing very fast as long as you are *not* a caroubiz account user. Listings with sexually explicit objects of Caroubiz account users can be up for years without being removed. There are even clearly internationally illegal items like human skull fragments, elephant ivory, etc. being boldly sold by caboroubiz accounts. Be warned: if you are a regular seller, the moderators will scrutinize every nook and cranny of your listing even if it follows community guidelines.
Banned my posts for no legit reason and provided no support
Banned my posts for no legit reason. Items are rated internationally for kids and teens. took down posts recommended for aged 14kids and they banned me for posting sexual content. Like where do you see any sexual content? They just keep copy and pasting rules. 0 support and random bannings.
Not bad but decent
Carousell was an okay experience for me, (only bought there abt 2 times) there were various methods to pay the seller (meet-up, bank transfer etc), without restrictions like having Paypal, but could be a hit or miss. My buying experience was great, the sellers had excellent reputation and so I got good purchases at a decent or cheap price. The only minor setback is that not a lot of people use carousell as much as depop or ebay, so listings do tend to be very short and it's rare to find good items. Chat function is decent, it shows whether the person has seen/responded and you get notifications for new searches that you have saved. Overall, I do recommend carousell, as a seller or buyer, but be cautious of lowballers and scammers.
Edit: after multiple surfings of Carousell, I think it's still a pretty decent site to trade/sell/buy without any restrictions, but there is definitely less variety compared to other marketplaces such as; Ebay, Depop etc which is pretty downhearting (I love specific make up brands but most of the time carousell doesn't have sellers that cater towards selling them in comparison to other sites)
SCREW U CAROUSELL
SCREW U CAROUSELL. BAN PEOPLE ACCOUNT FOR NO REASON JUST BECAUSE SOME SILLY PEOPLE SABOTAGE. HOPE ALL THE EMPLOYEES GET CANCER
not doing enough
carousell is a convenient selling platform except for several things. the biggest issue they have is scammers - they are incapable of stopping suspicious accounts from signing up on the platform and targeting their existing users. it takes ages for them to block and remove the reported accounts too.
the other gripe i have with them is their review system for buyers and sellers. carousell are terrible mediators where disputes are concerned. tone, behaviour, facts of the case should all be taken into account where reviews are concerned. video recordings submitted by sellers when packing the item in good condition should be sufficient in reversing unfair feedbacks left by buyers.
there are also many selfish and heartless people on this platform, tbh. flippers and low-ballers harass the sellers to lower their price to almost nothing, and then they resell the same item for a lot more. they exploit those who sell second-hand items without considering the sellers' feelings. the sellers aren't a business, they're only normal people who are just trying to scrape together money from selling used items. and these are the people flippers prey on? flippers that flood carousell are shameless, and constantly ask for free shipping, or insist on meet-ups when the sellers' listings explicitly state that no meet-ups accepted and items are sent by mail only. carousell offers a reduced shipping option which requires the buyer to pay the shipping fee. if the seller pays for shipping, hence "free shipping" in the buyer's terms, this reduced rate doesn't apply. the seller is not subsidised for the shipping fee they paid on the buyer's behalf. this is categorically unfair for sellers. carousell doesn't care about this. carousell doesn't care enough for its sellers.
another group of crazy buyers include those who message the seller at 3 or 4 in the morning and expecting a prompt reply. worse still, they expect the seller to reply to their messages during this ungodly time and mail out their item immediately in the same morning. this group of buyers expect to skin the seller off for low prices, get free shipping, and they think the seller doesn't need to sleep. they do not consider that the carousell seller is merely an individual who does not have logistics contracts that enable shipment pick ups like a shopee or lazada merchants. buyers who message at 4am on saturday and sellers who didn't mail out items on sunday will get a 4 star review because the buyers WANT THEIR ITEMS DELIVERED NOW! maybe many malaysians are just that crazy and self-entitled. singaporeans aren't any better. one wanted to shave off RM10 from an already lowest priced item on the whole platform. dude, what's RM10 to you? SGD2.5? stop being so cheap.
carousell has set a number of rules for its users to follow, but majority of these users don't follow them. carousell doesn't implement any form of penalty for those that break the rules. there are also sellers who steal pictures from other sellers to sell their own items. so many people on this platform whine and complain but they don't even follow the rules. carousell constantly has ads that target sellers to spend more coins to get their listings more visible but they don't even do enough for sellers when the sellers were unfairly attacked and harassed. carousell wants to earn money from their sellers but it doesn't even protect them. if a new platform for second hand market emerges, carousell will die so fast.
Carousell is a bad scammer
I was a customer and seller on carousell for six years. 300+ 5 star review. I saw a post in carousell itself which states to recruit people to help post estates. Seem legit and the person pays me on time. Then after posting two posts for the person, I was being banned. Like suddenly. I asked the admin for the reason but the admin just told me that I had being Involved with fast cash schemes etc.
I don’t know why You know cuz they don’t explain like what the heck I was supposed to know. Turns out the person I was working for is a scammer and I was also being scammed in the end. I stopped working for him and then I appealed the carousell even giving the evidence I took up the job on CAROUSELL itself. They still said I’m being banned permanently.
Carousell wasn’t even a gov app but it’s security are as strict as gov in the bad way. I can’t even create another account no matter how I try. Wow. First time seeing this kind. Even roblox gives chance to create an account.
Now I can’t sell my phone and I was a victim as well to the scammer. Carousell is so disappointing. FYI I don’t know why But I was being scammed on carousell years ago, an amount of $500 :) carousell at least called to clarify you know.
And they have the tendency to take down your post even after you’ve paid the coins to post and boosts but you can’t do anything about it.
I think carousell is the real scammer here
Carousell won't even block the scammer's account
I recently got scammed by a seller on Carousell and wrote to the customer support team, explaining to them about the scam and even attaching screenshots about it. The customer support agent wouldn't even block that scammer's account and just said that they will just monitor if the scammer continue to receive similar feedback. What?? Why should you wait until another victim speaks up before blocking this scammer's account ? Isn't it very clear that whatever the scammer did is actually a violation of the community guidelines of carousell? Anyway, I've learnt my lesson - you can never depend on the carousell customer service team when bad things happen.
Terrible platform for sellers
Terrible platform for sellers. Alot of cheapskates; as if low balling isn't enough they don't even read ads. One buyer tried to get me to deliver when I mentioned in all my ads that they had to come down to collect - that's even after I offer to sell them the items at cost.
Even got suspended once by Carousell in the past, with very little warning as they said my listing goes against community standards (whatever the hell that means) but when I checked there are other sellers with the same listing as me using the same pictures. Tried to reason with them and only got another warning. Just simply terrible. Avoid if you value your sanity and cardiovascular health.
Pathetically broken
Pathetically broken, users especially buyers are subject to zero accountability. I bought and sold here and just like other sellers, get ditched multiple times. I even confirmed with my buyer an hour beforehand only to have him disappearing when I arrived. I cannot do anything or leave a review afterwards.
I certainly had fun travelling and waiting aimlessly at the station!
Be Warned! Or you will have nightmares
This platform is worst for both sellers and buyers, banning users and listings arbitrarily. eBay is worse enough but Carousell is an absolute nightmare far beyond eBay. It’s funny to see that they still can raise funding from venture capitals. So many dumb VCs out there.
Carousell is a nightmare
Carousell is a nightmare.
This city has a lot of cheapos, trying to low ball and asking for unreasonable deals. Carouhell never mediate nor flitter negative posts spread in its community group. Very bad experience actually, sadly they still got funded by VC, I don't know how they can monetize without paying efforts to make the selling place slightly better
Compared to ebay this platform is…
Compared to ebay this platform is absolutely terrible. Basic features: no effort to ensure proper conduct on the platform, no mitigation or customer service. Awful - avoid, not worth the headache.
A very shi tty attitude from Eric
A very shi tty attitude from Eric. blocked me from selling legit watches, they only block people who sell legit stuff.... all of their items on there are fake, people who sell fuc king fakes are even being promoted... i guess because they paid
Persistent spam marketing emails.
I had to leave an email address in order to look at a product. Since then, I've been getting constant spam emails. There is a button to unsubscribe, but it's fake; nothing happens when you click on it.
Terminated Carousell account without justification
Signed up for Carousell account and listed some second hand items for sale. Overnight, my account was terminated and when I wrote in to ask, I was just told that it was suspended due to suspicious issues that their system picked up. When asked what specifically I did wrong, the agent can’t tell me citing their privacy policy. So in all ridiculousness, they suspended my account but can’t tell me what I did wrong on my own account because of their privacy policy. Who and what are they trying to protect??? First time I came across an online market place that is so unhelpful and so opaque in their responses. They need to improve their “security” system and be more helpful to users. I don’t trust the Carousell system any more after this saga and I can’t recommend this to anyone else. Must be so frustrating to seasoned sellers if this happens to their accounts.
Disappointing
Disappointing, I just created an account and was suspended. Carousell team told me it was due to a transaction I had previously, but I did not had any transaction yet. It may be another user that Carousell tagged to me somehow, their security system checks need improvements. Now it is a hassle with many ongoing email here and there but issue still not resolved. Customer service is rude as well, stating all of this is due to my account even though I did not do anything.
Only sides with buyer
Will keep this short. As a seller, I am thoroughly disappointed with their customer service and impartial manner of siding with the buyer without looking into the situation.
A customer of ours left us a 1 star review, and includes tons of false statements in it. We delivered within stipulated timeframe, have proof of item received + handled any dissatisfaction promptly. Customer demanded a full refund, which we could not provide as it was a small problem. (Note: we provided customer with numerous solutions to choose from). This led to the customer writing in straight to Carousell and left a false review which does not accurately portray the situation, and carousell’s response to us was that they could not do anything about it.
This is definitely left a sour taste in our mouth, where we have to bear the brunt of the customer’s unjust demand and false accusations. Hope that Carousell will change this biased privilege given to buyers, and provide at least an investigation to give seller too a fair play.
Excellent experience! Items are as described!
Excellent experience! Most items I have bought from multiple sellers are as described (unlike Ebay items that are never as described). Carousell is now my preferred site to buy and sell on, 5 stars!
Very very bad service
