Choosing and buying the car was…
Choosing and buying the car was excellent, first class experience with sales person, all made very clear. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. Before I could drive it away there was a problem with ignition system. Car would not lock or unlock, radio stayed in when key taken out etc.
After sales manager was very apologetic and we decided to take it home and straight to my local vw dealer, get it repaired and Carlingo will pay bill.
Booked in for repairs on the 22nd so car off road till then at least
Will complete my revue when we see how things go.

It's good to hear that you had an overall pleasant experience buying you car for us, but that there was a slight issue on handover with the ignition. We do check all of our cars over thoroughly before they go out, so this fault may have occured at the time of handover, but we apologise for this.

We purchased a vehicle from Carlingo…
We purchased a vehicle from Carlingo for £20,500. After 7 months the vehicle suffered a gearbox fault, which was independently diagnosed as a mecatronics unit failure.
We raised a formal complaint under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Despite providing an independent report and allowing time for investigation, Carlingo has so far not provided a clear resolution.
As the vehicle was required for work, we had no option but to pay for the repair ourselves while the complaint remains under investigation.
We are disappointed by the lack of timely communication and are currently awaiting a final response.
Update: Following escalation, Carlingo has now reimbursed the remaining repair cost. While the issue took time to resolve and required persistence, it has ultimately been settled.

For clarity, we did contact Carlingo by phone when the fault first occurred and were advised at that time that it should be handled via the warranty. A formal complaint was then raised once it became clear that the matter was not being resolved.
The vehicle was required for work, so the repair was authorised while the complaint was ongoing.
The matter has now been resolved and the outstanding costs reimbursed.
Edited to add just took car in for mot brake pads and discs have failed we have done less than 3000 miles it appears we have been let down again this is not wear and tear these things should last longer on a car costing over £20,000 and only having it for 8 months and driving less than 3000 miles.

Sorry to hear that you had a fault with your car. Looking into the situation, it seems that you purchased the car around 7 months ago and there was a gearbox fault. You took it into the garage and the warranty company said they would pay part of it and not the full amount. You contacted us and gave us 14 days to try and look into this, which we did and managed to get back to you before then. We were always in touch with you frequently to update you on the progress. We personally managed to contact the warranty company and get them to pay the remaining amount for you.
We obviously hate when mechanical things go wrong with our customers cars as we always pride ourselves on the high standards of our preparation. We also felt that we dealt with the issue in a swift and timely matter.
It's good to hear that your car is now fixed and you are happy with the outcome.

Paperwork errors
The sales process went well and all this explained, the problem was on collecting the car, paperwork which I was told would be sorted was not, the up to date MOT certificate was not given, and the service book had the latest service details missing, which had been carried out by Carlingo. The simple solution is the mechanics fill in service book on completion and the new MOT certificate is put in documents package. The person handing over the car should be made aware of the status of service dates and mot.

Great experience using carlingo
Great experience using carlingo. The details of the car, the photos and video on the website were accurate. Service was friendly and not pressured. I got lower finance than I was offered at other dealerships using there finance company. My car was ready in less than 3 days since first contacting them.

The sales team were very helpful
The sales team were very helpful, and the transfer of the vehicles went very smoothly. I was, however, hugely disappointed to discover that the car had no floor mats. This is the first time this has happened in 60 years of driving, and not something I would have thought of checking. Bearing in mind the cost of the car, I feel that the company could offer to provide them for me.

Helpful, informative and no hard sell
We spent most of the day at the Harrogate Carlingo, test driving cars and talking to staff. It was a really great experience - the staff were helpful, took our requirements into consideration and gave us the time we needed to make a decision. No hard sell at all. Then the handover day, completing paperwork was a breeze. Will definitely go back to Carlingo when we need a car again. Very impressed.
We've left it nearly a year since we purchased our two cars because we wanted to make sure we were happy with them...and we kept forgetting to leave a review!!

Friendly and speedy service
I travelled over 200 miles to get my dream car and the staff has helped so much to make my dream come true. Stuart was my main contact via phone and it felt like he is a genuine, friendly, calm person that isn't pushy. I went back an forth and he was never inpatient or negative in the slightest. Even though I was very early on the collection day they managed to do all the paperwork early too, I have part exchanged my old car which was an easy process. They have good prices and it was worth driving so far to get it. Thank you again for everything.
