Pushy, opinionated, wanting to express opinions not asked for, on best next steps.
I made an enquiry online, they called me twice being pushy expressing what they would do over a faulty car purchase, their opinions on consumer law were not requested nor correct.
If they can’t service you in your area like me, I have no idea why they want to involve themselves defending or advising how I deal with car planet of Watford for selling me a un roadworthy car, a car they had already sold once before me, my dealing with carexamer was post purchase, and just rubbed salt into a sore wound to accept my fate buying a lemon.

I have now won my court judgement, so glad I didn’t listen to the two men that called me.
New review as carexamer had my first poor review in July removed.
Carexamer again have requested my review of them after calling me twice to offer me their opinion of my case to be removed. If it continues I’ll get my family to write what they heard you saying too. I suggest you Accept the review and get over it also.
15/9/2925 Need a say more, take a look at the response, to my review, in line with the over bearing calls received. I can get the check I need done for £250 but not required as I won my case.

I hovered between 3 and 4 stars for about 5 minutes on this!!

The Good

If the review was solely on the quality of the car examination, I’d be look for 6 or 7 stars!! Outstanding assessment, reporting, ability and knowledge. Courteous and professional and the vehicle vendor was taken aback about how thorough the assessment was.

The not-so Good
Booking is shambolic - site happily takes your money, lets you pick any date/time you like - then nothing!! Silence!
Followed up 3-4 hours later via painful chat both within the booking and on the main site. Response was along the lines of ‘sorry you feel like that’ then doubled down on the poor experience by stating that I hadn’t selected two dates - 1. if selecting 2 dates is mandatory then sort your website out and make it mandatory in the workflow and 2. I don’t want 2 dates!! As per a (I assume) typical use case I was at one end of the country, the vendor was at the other - the vendor has multiple requests for viewings/ purchases but fortunately was good enough to wait for my assessment - none of this sits well with picking 2 dates / times that may or may not be met and 4 hours of silence as to whether the assessment would take place or not.

Just at the point of cancelling or thinking it was a scam site - I get the text confirming the appointment for the following morning - then we’re back to the great stuff in the first half of the review. Appointment confirmed, technician kept me informed of eta and an outstanding assessment, report and follow up.

So there we have it - the assessment is awesome - I honestly cannot think of any negatives and in my opinion this was as good as it gets. Flip side is the booking process, questionable (awful) customer service and confirmation - got there in the end 4* rating due to 7* for the engineer and 1* for the booking process/app/customer service

You saved me from a big mistake, the sellers seem to be aware of a problem with the car, after the inspector checked it out and came across it, but had said nothing to me before the inspection, then got nasty when I asked if they would fix it and I would still be interested, they then said the inspector was 3 star and didn't know about that make, so yes thank you for your service you saved me from a very expensive mistake and showed the dealers up for what they are, will use again.

We were well informed both before and after inspection, including the ability to talk to the engineer.

Absolutely 100% worth it if you unable to view a car yourself you thinking of buying . Not only did the examiner do a thorough assessment with pictures and video but also a predictive cost for repairs to bring the vehicle up to scratch.

We were set on a car but it didn’t feel quite right so booked an inspection. Best thing I’ve ever done. The report was thorough and raised some questions to put to the seller, who was a used car dealer. They were not able to give an answer that was satisfactory and said no additional work would be done to the car and was to be sold as seen, which was not ready to be sold. I have no doubt there was another buyer for it but we were told with confidence that car would cause issues in the future. Highly recommend.

The RAC & AA didn’t cover the area we wanted a vehicle inspection carried out as it was a little more remote but CarExamer found us a qualified guy who was able to carry it out within two days of our enquiry. He was very thorough and professional and ultimately saved us wasting a lot of money, so although it was more expensive than the other companies we felt it was money well spent!

The appointment was booked for the next day and the report, together with the discussion with the engineer, were first rate. Helped us avoid costly repair bills.

A comprehensive and very extensive list of check-points and a 40 minute long explaination over the phone with the inspector of all the points that flagged up as less than satisfactory gave me all I needed to know that purchasing this vehicle would have been a very expensive mistake, and even driving the nearly 200 miles to see it a waste of time and fuel. The inspection was money well spent.

The person seems to have examined the car pretty thorougly and have also been proactive.

My wife and I were delighted at the prompt and professional approach by CareExamer. The site was easy to use, affordable, gave us peace of mind buying our Motorhome and the mechanic John was a very polite and professional person. 100%.
