I’ve been getting scam interviews since I signed up please don’t waste your time !

Minutes after I signed up, the "work from home" scam emails began rolling in. After three within 30 minutes or so of creating my account, I deleted all my information and closed my account.

This was two weeks ago. I still get 10-15 scam emails per day.

Having 38 years in the Staffing Industry, relying on recruiting platforms for new employee candidates. They are bullies, thieves and liars, highly unprofessional when things go awry on their end, which will happen... NO MATTER WHAT. One cannot improve the people there, the unprofessional lying and cheating, with the purpose of stealing your money. They stole 7,300 for 3 weeks worth of trying to do business. I gave it my very best. I had to leave for the sake of my Company staying in business. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THEM, you will regret it before the year is up. I believe in nobility, integrity and honesty because truth is supposed to win. Well truth with CareerBuilder does not begin or end. Phony professionalism until the contract is signed. They will abandon you, assign different reps without the knowledge of their own platform. High turnover, eager to steal. Do not walk... RUN while you can.

Carreerbuilder is nothing but people trying to scam you and spaming your email with fake job opportunities trying to convince you to send them a deposit. Terrible management

A recruiter reached out to me about part time jobs via text (so unprofessional and innapropriate). She has not stopped texting me (with MANY grammatical errors and typos) even after insisting to not be contacted again.

This site is a complete piece of shit and completely broken. I tried to put bullet points into my profile and it just wouldn't let me. Absolutely don't waste time with this site and just go use something else.

The site is so severely BROKEN. I can't even get to it with my preferred Firefox browser (Cloudflare just gets stuck in a never-ending loop). Being forced to use a Chromium-based browser immediately puts them in a bad light.
Who knows how many times I've had to email them to tell them one feature or another is broken (such as EVERY link to their subsidiary Sologig bringing up a 404 error). The other day I wanted to replace my resume on their site with a new version. Their system couldn't handle ANY file I gave it. As usual, eventually I get a replay that "our programmers found function XYZ is currently broken", and eventually they say it's fixed.
And THEN when I uploaded my newer resume, it proceeded to TRASH my job history on my profile. I had already corrected it before, and uploading my resume should not have touched anything (certainly not without asking).

I agree with many others: The site is full of scammers. Solution: Read your privacy agreement and opt out of sharing your personal information. As far as results go, your time, effort and money are better spent investing in a comfortable pair of shoes and going door to door.

Their customer service is practically non-existent. I have been trying to have my email removed from their distribution lists, but still receive monthly newsletters despite deleting my account from their website. Their public "support" number directs Jobseekers (AKA non-paying users) to email their support. However, their email support has been extremely unhelpful. They recommended I click the "unsubscribe" button on the newsletters, which I've already done - on every newsletter I receive. They recommended I wait a couple of weeks for my "unsubscribe" request to be processed. I waited months, still receiving emails the entire time. They assured me that my email was manually removed - yet I continued to receive more spam mail from them. I emailed them again informing them of this, received an automated confirmation response, and have not heard back in for almost a month now. This company does NOT respect data removal requests.

This site was the goto site 20 years ago.. Now all you get is scammers from other countries trying to give you minimum wage jobs. DO NOT give them your information. You will instantly see the spam start rolling in. When you try to look at a link, it takes you to another career website that also wants your information. It's too bad these sites are allowed to thrive in todays internet culture. nobody seems to be able to do anything about them.

A team of scammers, first a lady will talk ask you to go their site thecareerbuilders.com and then a scammer will say our profile is shortlisted to any country you say..started to tell me Amazon has opening and when asked where can i find this job on their portal, claims will not be listed and started abusing . do not give career builder any of you personal info THEY WILL SELL IT. I get three calls per day from indians in new jersey asking trying to sell me a minimum wage job. If I ask to be removed from their list they hang up. I have 2 degrees I'm not looking to drive a fork lift but they keep calling.

As someone that used career builder to desperately find a job. The only thing I got from them was people trying to scam me, I mean this in a literal sense. They sold my contact info to scammers or the scammers are working it from the inside. After advising them of this and asking them to delete my account and information they refused to delete it all claiming its for legal reasons. And it took them over a month to do something so easy. Don't use this site as all you will get is a massive headache, and your scammed.

I have been looking for a decent job for about a year now. I have tried many different online job agencies/ job finder apps. career builders is by far the most useless app for finding legitimate decent jobs. The awesome part (I thought) was being able to apply to 40+ different jobs in my area with a click of a button. The main problem with the site is that as soon as I applied I opened my phone up to hundreds of scammers. I’m not even exaggerating say I applied to 200 jobs well I got around 60 responses back but not for what I needed which is an actual legit job. Nooo…instead it was scammers fishing for my personal information and blowing my phone up calls too but mainly texts. They want u to immediately message on a separate app Microsoft team or zoom /whats app and they fish for ur social , bank account information and they do this by claiming ur filling out an application but really it’s all done via text and to to someone in “Hr” aka just some random dude on a private messaging app it’s so sketchy. I can spot a scam from a mile away so I didn’t get tricked but I can easily see how someone whose desperate to provide for their household and in need of a job right away could freely give up their private info because they make it sound like interview questions. A huge red flag for me is they were trying to get my bank info before even telling me what the job role consisted of and told me I got the job like lmaooo over text ? I wasn't given even one detail about the position even tho he told me I would hear more about the role as I answer questions. I kinda just went along with it for as long as I could just so I could see what their whole ploy was. Wich is to gather ur social security number, bank account numbers and banking details that they do not need to know ever especially during an ”interview”. I also got one trying to tell me it was a job to drive their mother around for money paid weekly and that they were sending me a car to do the driving 😂 like get real. Anyways I got 1 actual job job trying to do an interview with me wich is a crazy return rate 1 job and it still wasn’t great because regardless of the filter I put on while applying which was to apply within the 5mile radius of my house it instead was for a role that would be a 2 1/2 commute everyday to work so it was a pointless opportunity for me way to far & out of all the texts my phone was blown up with it was a huge waste of time and now my number is exposed to scammers. Definitely a fail.

Careerbuilder is in cohoots with this Mindlance place that says they are recruiters, but they speak broken english, don't understand my answers, ask for proof of employment - like I'm sending them my W2? No Ma'am! They are relentless, texting, calling, emailing and even after I turned off my job looking on careerbuilder. I need to delete everything on there!

Very few legitimate jobs. Most are scams, links to yet another questionable job board that requires a separate account, or someone who is trying to sell you something. Job search agents are worthless and you get spammed with jobs that are in no way related to your experience. And Careerbuilder does absolutely nothing to resolve issues when you complain. Also makes it ridiculously hard to delete your account. They DO NOT own MY data and resume. I can remove it anytime I want. They are probably violating cosumer protection laws....wish they would get investigated. Sick of this predatory attitude too many companies have!

CareerBuilder has not provided any ROI. When we requested to cancel our subscription, they stated that we can not cancel for a full year, even though the contract states a 90-day written notice to cancel. Terrible product, revolving door of account reps. Complete waste of money.

This platform is terrible you can't even apply for jobs they post

CareerBuilder (CB) email subject line is less than honest “—- Construction is interested in you -“
No, they are not interested in me. They are “looking for candidates like you” (in email)
While this is minor, the hundreds of emails from “staffing” companies linked to CB is out of control.
Heartpace sent a text “we reviewed your application” - in the fake interview (teams chat) I asked what job did I apply for? The interviewer replied “we found your resume on CB.”

There are reasons why CB is not included in the top job-sites for 2024.

Btw in 2014 I got a call from a company that found me in CB. This became 9+ years of a new career.
