My undergraduate and Master's degrees are in Geography, circa 50 years ago. My cartography classes were learned using Pen & Ink, Leroy lettering sets, Zipatone, and Calipers, too... first on parchment paper, later on mylar! Quite a laborious process, so I was happy when a computer geek told me in Grad school he was going to put me out of business someday with GIS. That was good news to me, and I told him so, but had to wait 20 more years. In 1995, I read a glowing trade journal review about a new GIS company, Maptitude -- Loved the name, affordability, and training at a level you didn't have to be a computer geek to make a map. Since then, I have used Maptitude in all my hospital planning jobs until I retired and still use it for personal research. Lots more GIS competition these days, some supposedly "free" -- I don't know anything about that, I admit-- So who to trust if you're new to GIS mapping and need to improve geographic insights for business, teaching, and more? I wholeheartedly recommend Maptitude, with its continuous product improvements, up-to-date demographics, online training, and a very supportive Caliper staff.

Having used Maptitude for a while now for various mapping and demographic projects, I have found the tools really useful. Recently I had a complicated Routings issue which a memer of Maptitude support clearly explained how to solve. Their support function is always really helpful.

I can't say enough about the amazing support Caliper offers. My computer recently crashed and they were so helpful with all my questions and issues getting the software installed back on my laptop. Definitely not just a company that supports during the sale! They responded with a sense of urgency and even set up a Teams meeting to help me with some reporting. Definitely recommend!

Excellent value for money. Customer support very helpful and on time, I'm in an earlier time zone, but still get support quick enough to solve the issue. Online install quick and without any hitches. But then the best of all, user friendliness of the software! WMS layers are added by default, digitizing data is very easy and straight forward, the software takes care of all the technicalities, a non GIS person can make useful maps in minutes with their own data or the bundled data.

As a complete Maptitude novice, I used the software to create a literary map of the greater Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, area. Boston has a rich literary past and present; I easily got the software to dot the map with features that highlighted writers' homes and well-known public hangouts. A fun exercise!

I have been using Maptitude for 25+ years. It is essential for my custom demographic consulting company’s work, which includes analysis of spatial data and presenting results to public sector clients. The tools to prepare finished maps are excellent. The geocoding tool is excellent. The software is easy to use and has evolved over time to improve with each new release. Tech support is excellent. Caliper staff members answer emails and phone calls promptly and have always continued to help us until problems are solved. Best of all, the software is relatively inexpensive, especially for such a powerful tool!

I had used Maptitude in a previous position and it was a fantastic product. Far and away the best GIS Mapping program I have used. I like it better than ESRI myself. At my new position I had to prove Maptitude's value. Drew Smith was instrumental in keeping my trial alive during PC swaps and hard drive failures so that Maptitude's value was demonstrated. Needless to say, Maptitude proved to be even better than I remember. We purchased our license today. Thanks Drew and Caliper!

Maptitude is user-friendly and provides all the tools necessary to produce effective maps and data analysis.

I used Maptitude and the Mexico map database to create maps for inclusion in my dissertation. The world-class professors on my committee asked me to make hundreds of changes, which took me about a year. Amazingly, not one complaint about the maps, they were stunningly beautiful and I was even able to successfully include 1-hour drive-rings in the extremely rural and isolated huasteca veracruzana.

I've been using Maptitude now for 3 years. It is the only mapping tool that has been able to help with our needs. I highly recommend trying this software!

Maptitude offers a lot of bang for your buck. I did hours of research, looking at different mapping companies before choosing Maptitude and surprisingly, Maptitude is one of the very few companies that allows you to pay a one-time fee only (which is very reasonable given you're getting) and you get lifetime access to the software. Most other companies require you to pay an annual fee which can add up pretty quickly.

The mapping software itself is amazing. It is robust, dynamic and does everything you can possibly imagine and then some. It is very user friendly and has a lot of built in features that can help making maps extremely useful as it provides invaluable insights into your data.

The best part is after I purchased the product, the amount of customer support I received was fantastic. Every time I had a question, the company would always reply back immediately with a solution. They were very knowledgeable in their product, timely and very helpful. The mapping software is a home run and I could not be happier with the product nor the high level of customer service. Maptitude is an incredibly powerful program for a very affordable price. The integration of census data and the ease of using your own data make an incredibly useful program. They are continually adding new and free data points to the included data. If you need to visualize data on a map this is the program to get.
