Fabulous cake

Over the past week, I ordered two birthday cakes from this company-a smaller one for a photo shoot for my child, and a second one for the party, which was attended by 20 children. The small cake arrived first; when placing the order, I had specifically asked for the child's age (the number) to be displayed and for his name to be written on it. When the cake arrived on Wednesday, none of these requests had been met. Naturally, they didn't even reply to my message asking if this was possible-there was a complete lack of communication. When we opened the cake, it hadn't been damaged during delivery, but it was made crooked.

The second cake we ordered for his birthday arrived on time, but when we opened the box, it was just placed inside without any extra protection and was completely damaged. I can upload photos so you can see.

We paid around 230 pounds-if not more-for the two orders and I wouldn't trust this company again. By the way, the taste of the cake wasn't anything special either; it was just a plain sponge cake with a bit of whipped cream. Honestly, it's not worth it at all

This situation has caused significant stress and meant our children did not receive their desired birthday cake for their party. I am writing this review to warn others about Caker Street’s complete failure to deliver our order, their contradictory statements, and their unacceptable shipping practices.
The automated DHL eCommerce tracking status claims the parcel was delivered at 9:00 and signed for by me personally. This claim is completely false, as I was not even at the property at that time. When I raised this with the vendor, they sent a WhatsApp message giving a completely contradictory story, claiming the courier was instructed to leave the parcel with a neighbour. However, there is zero proof of delivery on the DHL system—no drop-off photograph, no GPS coordinates, no signature, and no neighbour house number logged. Furthermore, we reviewed the video footage from both our Ring doorbell camera and our neighbours' cameras for the entire morning, and no courier or delivery vehicle ever visited our home or any nearby property.

In addition to the non-delivery, the vendor's shipping method was entirely inappropriate for a fresh, perishable food item. They used DHL eCommerce, a standard high-volume packet network, rather than a direct, temperature-controlled food delivery service. Tracking details confirm the package was dispatched late the previous evening, meaning a fresh cake was left sitting unchilled in standard postal sorting hubs and transit vans overnight. This creates serious food safety and quality issues. The merchant was already mismanaging the delivery timeline beforehand, as a representative previously told me the cake might arrive on Friday or Monday, which was completely useless for a weekend birthday event.

Following the failed delivery, I checked Caker Street on the Companies House Register. It doesn’t have actual premises listed and the address is basically for an accounting office. And it’s registered under a guy who lives in India.

Save yourself the stress and disappointment for your special occasions and buy from a reliable local bakery instead.

Very dissatisfying!!! I order one week early a cake for my son, the cake was delivered on time but was broken and my son was without cake for his own party. I send them the cake on 5th October and they received it on 7th October. Today is 16 October and I still don’t have my refund even I can’t call them or email them. Very bad hospitality. Don’t use them and please don’t use them as a service provider of your bday party. For me they are scammers as I mentioned I can’t reached out them by phone or email.

This company isn’t worth spending a penny on I paid £285 for a birthday cake that I’d received on a Saturday when it arrived it was damaged returns policy says to return within 24hrs which I was unable to do due to being late weekend .
I binned the cake as it wasn’t up to standard emailed this company which picture proof and they’ve not done a thing to make it right even the 20% back as they say on website.
The cake was damaged and the rude response on email was awful.
I paid a lot of money for that cake I’m absolutely gutted I wasted my money on this company .
No refund was offered

Received cake today, that was damaged, misshaped and the flavour wasn’t nice either. It ended up in the bin

Easy online ordering and friendly service

Extremely disappointing experience from start to finish.

When the cake arrived, one side was squashed against the box because it hadn't been packaged properly. Although there was protective wrapping, the cake had been pushed to one side, leaving that side completely unprotected. The damage was obvious as soon as the box was opened.

Unfortunately, the cake itself was also disappointing. It contained an excessive amount of icing, with very little sponge and jam compared to what was requested. The balance was completely off and didn't reflect what we were expecting or paying for.

I contacted customer services straight away and sent photographs of the damage, but received no response. After chasing again, I finally received a reply a week later. Rather than apologising or trying to resolve the issue, I was told that I would only receive a refund if I returned the cake.

When I questioned this, their response was simply "return the cake or no refund". To make matters worse, I was then told that they would not be responding to any further emails. I found this incredibly rude, dismissive and unprofessional.

Poor packaging, disappointing quality, and some of the worst customer service I've experienced. I would not order from this company again and would not recommend them to others.

It was great however it was a name and age cake but the site didn’t give me specific fields to add the details. I put it in the additional message bit. I have ordered from here before and the cakes are amazing.

The kpop cake for my daughter’s birthday was absolutely amazing and delicious. It was well packaged also. I would have liked some communication regarding delivery but apart from that very good!

Very easy to place my order, fantastic choice of cakes, can’t wait for the booby cake to arrive for my special friends early birthday celebration before she endures her breast cancer treatment journey (dark humour has always been our girl code survival technique)

Absolutely horrific experience. Do not buy from this company.

Cake was bashed to pieces.

Did not resemble the original picture.

It was disgusting tasting, luminous yellow icing, and so embarrassing this happened. Completely ruined our party.

Absolutely disgraceful service – avoid this company at all costs!

I would strongly advise anyone considering ordering a cake from this company to think twice. My experience has been nothing short of appalling, and I genuinely feel scammed.

I ordered a personalised cake for my daughter’s 3rd birthday party, with delivery promised by 2pm. The cake did not arrive until 4:30pm, when the party was supposed to be finishing!

To make matters worse, the cake arrived completely ruined. The personalised decoration was damaged beyond recognition, and the cake looked nothing like what I had paid for.

I immediately contacted the company and provided photographic evidence. They eventually responded at 7pm, stating that I could receive a refund ONLY if I returned the cake the following day. How exactly was I supposed to arrange a courier on a Sunday to return a damaged birthday cake? Not to mention that I actually needed the cake for my daughter’s birthday party!

Despite the terrible condition, we attempted to serve it, as all the children had been looking forward to having some chocolate birthday cake. However, as soon as we started cutting it, the cake began falling apart and we discovered it was full of toothpicks! This was a serious safety concern, particularly as the cake was intended for three-year-old children. We could not safely serve it, and the entire cake ended up in the bin.

You would think that any reputable company would apologise and offer a full refund for such an unacceptable experience. Instead, they refused to refund me and offered a pathetic 20% refund.

To add insult to injury, I followed up twice to request even the 20% they had offered, and they completely ignored my emails. I have not received a penny back!

So, to summarise, I paid for a personalised birthday cake that arrived two and a half hours late, was completely damaged, contained numerous toothpicks, was unsafe to serve to children and ultimately ended up in the bin. The company has kept my money and stopped responding.

I feel completely ripped off. This company’s customer service is disgraceful, and their refusal to take responsibility is shocking.

Please do not waste your money or risk ruining an important celebration by ordering from this company. I certainly wish I had read a review like this before trusting them with my daughter’s birthday cake.

I ordered this cake two weeks prior to the date I needed it by. It came on the exact date ( saturday) for my sons 16th birthday. The tracking kept me up to date on its arrival. It was beautifully packaged and it was in perfect condition. Super happy with it.
