My experience with Budli.in was disappointing.
I am sharing my personal experience with Budli.in so other buyers can make an informed decision.
I placed a prepaid order on Budli’s website and paid the full amount online. The website accepted my delivery address, generated an order confirmation, and the order was later manually confirmed by Budli’s team as well.
After confirming the order and taking payment, Budli informed me that the product cannot be delivered outside Bangalore. This information was communicated only after the order was confirmed and payment was received.
Despite the fact that:
• The product was never shipped
• No service was provided
• Cancellation was due to Budli’s inability to deliver, not my request
they demanded 15% cancellation charges to process the refund and repeatedly tried to make me email my “acceptance” for this deduction.
What is more concerning is that I later found another case where Budli stated that 15% cancellation charges are not applicable if the order is not processed, yet in my case, they are demanding the same charges even though the order was not processed.
I have escalated the matter to the National Consumer Helpline (Government of India) due to unfair trade practices and inconsistent application of their own terms.
My advice to others:
Please be very cautious with prepaid orders, especially if you are outside Bangalore. Make sure everything is clarified in writing before paying.
