The lab-grown diamond solitaire pendant I ordered was absolutely tiny and the product specifications were misleading: Why advertise a product as a "pendant" if a chain is included and the only mention of this is embedded deep in the wordy copy rather than in the product specifications? Why not provide dimensions of the diamond if the pictures don't show how tiny it is? (Confusion could also be avoided if the chain was shown on a model, but I think then the company would find that no one would ever pay their inflated prices for such a tiny diamond; other jewellers offer better value for money and a choice of chain if a chain is included.) I complained on receiving the product and was met with a complete lack of understanding. I even explained that I had called the local branch prior to purchasing online to check if, indeed, "pendant" meant that I would have to buy a chain separately. There was no concession of wrongdoing, so I found myself in a very frustrating exchange with the assistant to whom I complained. It also cost me over £10 to return the necklace securely, so not only did my mum end up without the beautiful 80th birthday present I had planned to give her, but I also ended up out of pocket. The only thing I can praise is the fast delivery (for which, to their credit, Browns did refund me - £5 - but not for the £8 insurance). I will never shop with this jeweller again. Note that the jeweller says the chain is clearly mentioned in the description - but only if you check the arrow to continue reading said description. They say they are sorry, but they are merely protecting themselves and should be more understanding with their customers.

Thanks to the staff at the Crossgates branch of Browns today. They were very helpful as I had an issue with my gold band ring becoming too tight. They also gave me advice about bringing any old or unwanted gold jewellery into the store. It was a very pleasant experience.

Delivery was pretty quick,only a couple of days.
My item came in really nice presentation box,my only complaint was that the bracelet wasnt secured properly in the box so it was all scrunched up in the corner but no harm done,wont stop me from buying again

Unbelievable customer service at the Harrogate branch We were on holiday and purchased a ring which needed to be made smaller by one size. M to L1/2. I was advised this is free of charge and that it would be sent to our home address. All details given including mobile, email address etc. Well on Wednesday I get a message your ring is ready for collection and it’s £98. Then I get a phone call saying ignore this message when would you like the ring sent to me. The lady said we will post this next day on Thursday and it will be a before 1pm delivery on Friday 22nd May 2026 you must be there to sign for it. Seems simple. So Friday morning we stay in because we have to sign for it. Just after 12 I get a message from Browns saying we have your ring here and we need to check your delivery address. Unbelievable 😡 I phoned back and it was just getting worse. If we post it today we can’t guarantee to will get it tomorrow but it could be Tuesday before 1pm. I just said don’t post it now till the Tuesday we do have lives and we want to go out, weather good and it’s a bank holiday too. So all I will say is if you buy anything and it needs altering then good luck if you expect it to be delivered. I feel the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. I thought it was a professional company in Harrogate. So just be careful when buying here. 😞😞😞 I wonder if this ring will be delivered on Wednesday 😞😞😞
