I chose this tour because it was advertised with a “Northern Lights Guarantee”, which gave me confidence that I would have a real chance of seeing the aurora.
My experience took place on January 31 and February 1, 2026. Across both nights, I did not see any Northern Lights at all — absolutely nothing, not even faintly, not briefly, and nothing visible to the naked eye at any point.

At one moment, we were even encouraged to take photos “at least to have a memory”, which reflected the reality at the time: there were no Northern Lights visible in the sky.
After the tour, I contacted the company to request a refund under their guarantee policy. I was then informed that “faint Northern Lights were detected” and that photos existed as proof. However, this does not match my experience, as no aurora was visible without a camera at any time.

A guarantee should relate to what customers can actually see and experience — not only what may be captured through camera settings that were not clearly explained during the booking process.

I made several attempts to resolve this directly and even proposed a partial refund as a fair compromise, but unfortunately did not receive any response.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially considering the expectations created by the “guarantee”.

BookLapland is a highly professional and trustworthy tour company with a proper physical shop conveniently located in the heart of Rovaniemi. You can easily walk in for inquiries during normal business hours, which gives great peace of mind — unlike some smaller operators that only open their offices at limited times.

We were especially lucky to have Elisei as our guide. He was incredibly passionate, energetic, and kept a positive atmosphere throughout the entire journey, including the long 3-hour drive to the destination (it was at Sweden!). He went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a memorable experience, putting tremendous effort into taking beautiful photos and videos for every member of the group.

We went on a guaranteed aurora tour, through the booking of Stay Lapland and the experience could not have been better!
David and Edu went over and beyond to make sure we had a great spot for enjoying the aurora show. They explained the different factors impacting the auroras, showed us how they were making sure we had clear skies, and found us a great and safe spot that only had us (no crowds) and had a 360 degree view of the show.
They took great pictures and went until late in the night to make sure we could get the best aurora as possible (and we did!). It didn’t feel rushed at all, they didn’t stop at the first good aurora.
They even stopped when they spotted another great aurora on the way back home. It was like they wanted us to have the best night possible (and we did).
They brought a professional camera and were as excited as we were for taking pictures with the auroras.
I loved their energy and their attitude, by far recommended if you want to have a great experience!

The guides were nice and they brought us to Sweden to see Aurora and it was amazing.

I used get your guide in Norway and Finland and it worked perfectly well. Easy to communicate with the person/agency organizing the activity, you can cancel until 24h in advance, so you can book your holiday in advance!

Um uns das wunderschöne Erlebnis zu ermöglichen haben uns unsere Guides 300km weit nach Schweden gebracht, wo klarer Himmel herrschte.Wir waren über 8 Stunden unterwegs und haben Sachen erlebt ,von dennen man immer nur geträumt hat. Wunderschönes Ereignis und wir waren live dabei.Danke an das gesamte Team und für die tollen Bilder.Das war eine ganz tolle Tour.

We had a great snowmobile tour guided by Sofia of StayLapland. Her explanations of how to drive the snowmobiles were perfectly clear and we had no issues at all. It was real fun! Highly recommended! We’ll be back for another tour 😃

I booked via getyourguide where it was mentioned the tour is 5 hours instead it turned out to be an 8 hour tour and that took my entire night. they took use to sweden where also nothing was visible. since it was a guaranteed tour so they clicked pics for everyone with almost invisible northern light so they dont have to provide refund. it's just a scam

Das schlechteste was wir je gebucht hatten, es wird versucht auf biegen und brechen, irgendwelche Lichter zu finden und dann einem versucht als ganz tolle Pollarlichter zu präsentieren. Wir sind über 8 Stunden unterwegs gewesen, reine Fahrzeit mit dem Bus über 6 Stunden, bis tief nach Schweden rein. Wir haben dann am Straßenrand einer Hauptstraße gehalten und dort sollten wir dann die Pollarlichter beobachten, der reflektierende Mond brachte aber mehr Licht als alles andere. Es gab vier Packungen Kekse für über 40 Leute, was viel zu wenig war, die Kekse waren auch billigKekse aus dem Super, für mehr reicht es wohl nicht. Bei uns im Hotel, haben wir am nächsten Tag, viel mehr und schönere Pollarlichter gesehen, als auf dieser schrecklichen Tour. Wir waren dafür von 19.45 Uhr bis um 4 Uhr Nachts unterwegs. Ich kann jedem nur davon abraten! Ich habe mal ein Bild reingestellt, was einem dann als Highlight verkauft wurde.

My refund request was refused and I was offered only a discount for a future tour. I escalated the issue and provided evidence, and my chargeback was approved, resulting in a refund. Customers should be very careful with how “guarantee” is defined here.

Great tour and dedicated guide .. Alker knew when and where to go to catch the lights and we had a success on one location still he kept trying other slots too ..
