There are some dreams you simply can't make happen on your own and, for me, the team at The Book Guild make dreams happen! From the outset, their communication was not only warm, welcoming and friendly but always timely. I was never left wondering 'what's happening now' or 'what's happening next'. Their handover between departments at each critical stage was flawless and everyone at expert in their own field. The team not only know books but they also know authors so I always felt fully supported and heard. And the final product? Outstanding! I would, without any hesitation or reserve, highly recommend The Book Guild - you and your dream will most definitely be in safe hands.

They are super well organised; they are approachable and easy to work with. They took a huge amount of trouble with the actual physical book - the cover is gorgeous and has had many compliments. They have made the whole process extremely enjoyable.

The Book Guild staff have all been wonderful. They always reply promptly to e-mails and if they say they will ring you back they do. There is no pressure placed on you to accept additional services, and they would dissuade you if they didn’t think it was appropriate for your book. I have now had two novels published with The Book Guild. I have found the experience a very rewarding one. The process from submission to final publication is set out clearly. All the relevant deadlines are met. There is continuing support once the novel is published. The staff are responsive to enquiries and highly professional. I would highly recommend them as a publisher.

The Book Guild has published many titles for me. Each time, it's like setting out on an exciting mission with a team of commandos who are each totally expert in what they do. I have to highlight the awesomeness of their cover designs - there is nothing out there remotely as good. But the expertise and supportiveness of the whole team has no equal.

I have published two books with The Book Guild, Shampoo and Set 75 Years as a Hairdresser and my novel, Carribay. They are extremely professional, supportive and efficient. The information they provide once you have been accepted as an author is first class. They meet the deadlines which they set themselves at the outset. Any queries are answered quickly and politely no matter how mundane they may seem. The books produced are of an extremely high quality and everyone I have dealt with have acted quickly and in a friendly manner. There are so many ways to publish now and this has got to be one of the best ways. I recommend the guide available on the Troubadour website as The Book Guild are part of the same company. You do have to invest some of your own money in the book and you may not get it back but the fun you have promoting your book, getting people's reactions etc makes it worthwhile. Often it is just the cost of a week's holiday yet you have months or years of pleasure.

I'd heard of The Book Guild and its reliability from some of its authors years before I submitted my own book, and I was not disappointed. Coming from a self-publishing background, this was my first time using a hybrid publisher, a new experience to say the least. They took a huge weight off my shoulders, while being friendly, insightful, and transparent in their communications, which typically occurred at each key milestone of the publishing process. The book came out lovely, and I got a fair amount of support in terms of publicity and marketing. Overall, I'd happily work with The Book Guild again.

There are only minor things authors should look out for. Firstly, be prepared to check your manuscript again after it's returned at various stages, and take your time with it.

Secondly, do as much of your own marketing, publicity, research, etc. as possible, including designing and printing your own merch, like flyers and stickers, because The Book Guild rates are on the high end. I was surprised by a free batch of bookmarks, but anything more would have cost extra.

Finally, don't hesitate to reach out to your assigned contacts for updates and clarifications, as your contract and other provided documents don't include answers to all questions you might have.

The team at the Book Guild made the whole process of bringing Graham and the Flitchcombe Murders into print an enjoyable one from start to finish. It's a really professional operation, well honed and efficient, but I always felt I was dealing with people who care about books and doing the best for their authors. There is real expertise on hand and I was thoughtfully guided at every stage. The typesetting was superb, the copy editing meticulous and practical, and the production process went smoothly. The result has been a volume that has already been praised as an example of book production. I couldn't have asked for better.

Book Guild are very good to work with, keeping the author well-informed at all stages of the publishing process. I found the staff I dealt with to be very receptive to my own ideas and suggestions - even though, naturally, they have far more expertise in design, typesetting and publicity than I do - and quick to respond to my naive questions. The finished product looks superb and really stands out in the window of my local branch of Waterstones. What more could a first-time novelist ask for?

All the people at the Book Guild were great at their various responsibilities. As mine is a published book rather than self-published, I was expecting a little more 'editing' of the MS as opposed to simply proof-reading it. Some errors (later corrected by the author) were inadvertently introduced, e.g, the names of the London theatres 'Lyric' and 'Comedy' were changed to 'lyric' and 'comedy' - words not names. However, the overall process, which is still going on, has been a great pleasure and a chance to work with some expert and charming publishers.

I can only echo what 99.9% of reviews have said, is that I have found The Book Guild excellent in every respect. Publishing a book is a daunting experience - if very exciting - but it is not an exaggeration to say The Book Guild has cherished me at every step of the way. They are consummate professionals who have produced my novel 'The Villa Matisse' to such a high standard I am beyond delighted. If you are in any doubt about approaching The Book Guild with your work, don't be. They are top of the league when it comes to independent publishing.

The Book Guild offers either a traditional publishing contract, a partnership (share of costs with author) deal, or self-publishing by Troubador.
My experience with the Book Guild has been positive throughout. From Rosie to Carolina to Sophie, all have been thorough and professional. For me, the excellent marketing in particular raises them above and beyond my experiences with several other indie publishers in the past.

The Book Guild were excellent in delivering a bulk order to my school in readiness for Melania Giofre's author visit. Melania herself was excellent with the children and they loved meeting her and having their book signed by her.
