This company has gotten worse over the years. The quality of the product has diminished and the software is painful to use, especially as a professional trying to design albums for clients. I will be going elsewhere after using Bob Books for 6+ years.

I placed an order for x3 PDF-to-Book photobooks on the 8th or April for £155. The payment went through and I received a confirmation page.

Ten days later, after hearing nothing from Bob Books I emailed to check the status of my order only to be told they never received it and I'd have to order again (despite the money being blocked on my card and being shown a confirmation page after uploading my files)

Frustrated, I did so, blocking a further £150 on my card. Despite using their InDesign profiles and checking my files manually, I received an automated email claiming there was apparently an issue with my uploads that required attention. The included links in this email were broken.

There was no way to address the issue, other than to reorder, which would block an additional £150 on my card.

This is absurd. There is no way to pre-check files, no way to re-upload files or no way to manually send in updated files.

On top of this, their customer support was incredibly slow, claiming that they'd been in touch with head office and that I'd hear from them soon (I didn't). Every email took days to get a reply, offering very little help except "create a new order" and here I am nearly a month after my initial order with nothing to show for it.

Hugely disappointed with their service and will be using a competitor.

I personally found difficulty with the in-app interface.

Everything was very much self explanatory but when I tried it on my iPad, the app kept refreshing and not uploading any of my images. I tried a number of times and each time it did the same thing.

I tried uploading 1 image at a time and it didn't seem to work either. I ended up downloading the app on my desktop and it worked really well there, just didn't seem very compatible with my iPad.

It's very expensive too, I make an album for my mum for Mothers Day from Bobbooks every year and it seems to get more and more expensive year by year.

The UI for creating books from PDF is slightly clunky, the InDesign template generator doesn't work in recent versions of macOS, and the print quality wasn't perfect. However, printing as really fast and we were very happy with photo books!

I've made so many Bob Books over the years since my first one for my wedding in 2011! But since Cewe have taken over it's really hard work using the software, takes longer and less enjoyable. Why no grids, why no snap to other picture, mid lines. Why do only a few of the templates have text options, and then you have to use a template really on the online editor and it always cuts out the nicest aspect of the photos. Might try the desktop version but otherwise, bye bye Bob!

I've used Bob Books for about 8 years and have had around 16 books printed using PDF to book. Quality is always excellent especially the binding. Tried a couple of others companies to see the difference and came back to Bob Books again as overall quality is better. Customer service is also very helpful and prompt.

Just got my latest book back from Bob Books. It is to the usual very high standard. The quality of the cover is first rate and the photographs beautifully reproduced. I have had many book produced by Bob Books and find the software simple to use and allows me to do my own thing. This time the book featured my fabulous American Bulldog, Maggie. Looking forward to the next project. I love the quality and consistency, and don't need to look elsewhere for my photo books. Love the new gold highlights. Happy customer.

Have used Bob books a few times. Quality is great. However there upload service/website is VERY CLUNKY. It is not straightforward on how to order and upload your pdf. If your file does pass the production test then you need to order another book again putting your card details in twice. They also hide the option for logo free books. After requesting the logo taken off they could not do this for me so very disappointed. I do not want the Bob books logo plastered in a personal photo book. Needs a web designer to look over for user-friendliness/ease. I won’t be using them again.

I printed my wedding photo album with Bob books and I'm really happy with how it turned out. I have chosen the biggest landscape hardback for us, and got smaller paperbacks for other family members. The quality of the pictures is excellent, and the software to create the album was very easy to use. We were able to customise each page and tell a story with our pictures. The final product is now proudly shown on our coffee table!

I love Bob Books. The app is simple and effective and products are great value. I expect to continue to use Bob Books for years to come!

We have used Bob Books for the last 7 years for our high quality books and Xmas cards - faultless, superb quality and customer service.We can’t speak highly enough of the whole experience.

I have assessed many photo book print providers both in term of easy of editing software as in terms of quality of print. Bob Books came out as the best for me. I have now created and ordered about 15 books in total and have never been disappointed with the service or the results:
1. The editing is very user friendly. Over time I have established my personal format and style. It is easy to replicated this into my new books and become much quicker in the production.
2. I have my books printed in Matte Photographic Lay-Flat. The results have been consistently good. I very much prefer the matte finish above the gloss. The colors have each time been come out fine.
3. On 3 occasions I had to contact the support team. Each time they have been very friendly and forthcoming in sorting out my issue.
4. I also like the online bookshop to explore and learn from other books created on the platform.

I had used Bob Books on a number of occasions for photo books, each time receiving a truly quality product. Recently, decided to try my hand at making some canvas prints. The desktop software was very easy to use right from the beginning, and the pictures I obtained were exactly what I had hoped for. All round, a very good service at very reasonable prices.

Love the offline software and ability to totally design the book layout yourself. Quality of the books is great although the photos do sometimes come out slightly darker than I expect. Great company and often an offer code which I appreciate!

A great alternative to those missing Apple Book orders. Yes it takes a little time to get used too and yes the new update is absolutely frustrating and makes no sense whatsoever (favourite templates now appear randomly meaning way too much extra time / It doesn't remember which pics you have placed in your book) This could be down to the fact I updated to the new version halfway through making a book so I'm giving it a 5/5 in the hope this was the case.

Excellent quality Books, and really useful online tool.
However, there's a couple of problems were uploaded pictures aren't useable and have to be reuploaded, which impacted my first order but hopefully shouldn't impact my next one.
I did use their help service, which was very useful 4 times out of 5.
All in all, would recommend.

Excellent Quality

I've produced over 50 Bobs Books since about 2008. They are not cheap, but the fact I've paid for so many books over the years is because of the quality and knowing that the legacy of these volumes will outlive me.

I recently used the photographic paper, only available with layflat books, after I'd had a few printing issues with a particular book on the Classic paper and reprinting it on photographic paper fixed it.
Generally I find I need to brighten the images to a point that looks somewhat over done on screen otherwise the images in the finished book tend to be too dark.
I usually print a small book first to check the images,which obviously adds to the overall cost but allows for corrections before commiting to larger more expensive books.
I prefer looking at pictures in print rather than on a screen and the books are a nice way to present them. I'd recommend either the Classic paper or the Photographic paper, the photographic paper has a higher quality feel to it but both finished products look good.

I have recently received another excellent photobook from Bob Books. The quality of the printing is excellent, with perfect colour reproduction. Very rapid service too. They are not cheap, but for me its worth it for the quality product.

I've ordered around eight photobooks from Bob Books and always been very happy with the results - relatively easy to use software, good range of products, good quality and fast and efficient service. They do what they say they do very well.
