fails to deliver
I purchased a £550 garden furniture set in May after being promised a 4-week delivery. The delivery date was extremely important because I knew I would be travelling for an extended summer holiday. Before placing the order, I specifically called to confirm that the delivery timeframe was realistic, and I was reassured that it was.
It has now been over 6 weeks, and I haven't received a single one of the five pieces I ordered. Even more disappointing is the complete lack of communication. Nobody has contacted me to explain the delay—not a phone call, email, or update of any kind.
I had to chase them myself last week, only to be told that the furniture hadn't even been dispatched from Italy. I specifically asked to be notified once it was dispatched so I could decide whether I still wanted to keep the order given my travel plans. Once again, no one bothered to contact me.
Today I had to call again because I still hadn't heard anything. This time I was told the furniture has now been dispatched. It would have been nice if someone had actually informed me, as requested. To make matters worse, they are only hoping the furniture will arrive within the next two weeks, with no guarantee whatsoever.
For an order worth £550, I expected far better customer service and communication. A simple "sorry" is not enough when customers are left completely in the dark and have to do all the chasing themselves. If you know there are delays, communicate them proactively instead of making customers repeatedly contact you for updates.
This experience has been unprofessional from start to finish, and I would not recommend this company based on its poor customer service, lack of communication, and failure to deliver on the promised timescale.
