Booked to go to Porto for Nov 2024 and arrived at our hotel to be told that the room hadn’t been paid for. This has apparently had happened many times before so much so that the hotel management, at Director level, insisted that they cannot wait for Bestonlineholiday to catch up and therefore the client must pay (twice).
As we needed somewhere to stay we paid and then spend much time and stress trying to contact and make sense of the customer service team who simply kept insisting that the room had been paid where it absolutely hadn’t. We received a refund from my credit card company after returning from holiday. I emailed and complained to only receive, twice, a ‘we are sorry’ but it wasn’t our fault when it clearly had been a policy to pay as late or simply late the hotels and be damned!
We didn’t need this stress at the start of our holiday and won’t be using this company ever again!

My travel companion and I have an ongoing dispute with this ‘company’.
They failed to supply us with transport from the airport in the early hours of the morning, forcing us to pay for a taxi.
When we arrived at our apartment block we found it had been closed for hours, as it was not a 24hr reception.
So us 2 women ( one over 60 and one over 70) were left on the street with no way of accessing our apartment, in fact not even being able to open the front door!!
We gathered after some hours that we should have been given a code for the front door and also a code for the key box on the wall inside with our apartment number in it!
It was really disgraceful and very remiss of Best Online Holidays not to have given us this essential information.
They ( of course) are blaming everyone else but themselves, but after a month we have got nowhere.
We obtained the holiday from TRAVELZOO who are going to take this further, while we wait to be compensated for our distress and appalling treatment plus a,so being out of pocket.
I have heard this is a call centre in India….don’t know of the truth of that but our apartment block had certainly had issues with them before.
Please avoid at all costs.
