I really enjoy classes the Berges, the flexibility of scheduling is great and the material is broken out in a way that is easy to follow. I chose Yuli as my instructor and she has been amazing! I really enjoy her style of teaching and that she takes the time to reenforce the material through practice. I chose to continue with Yuli for level 2 as well.

I had taken college Spanish many years ago and wanted to renew my skills. Basic Spanish with Yuli as a teacher and the Berges Institute proved to be the perfect option for me. Starting with the basics, each 90 minute class offers new material, an opportunity to practice and Yuli is a friendly, patient teacher. Yuli provided additional engaging teaching materials during class and then sent the materials out afterwards to assist with review and studying. I also really liked the ability to switch the class to a different time if my schedule required it. I found that completing the homework kept me focused and on track. Thanks Yuli for a great experience!

I started Spanish beginners with Rolando Gonzalez at Berges Institute unsure of how I'd enjoy the online learning experience.

It turned out to be great!

I was impressed with Rolando Gonzalez. He is an excellent communicator - insightful, patient, witty and very personable.

I love this Spanish school! For a monthly fee, you can take as many classes as you want. The instructors are generally very good to excellent. The school is on eastern time and it can be a bit restrictive for people living on the west coast because some of the classes will be very, very early, and there are no evening classes for people on Pacific time. I would definitely give 5 stars if they had evening classes on Pacific time.

Fabulous language program. I’ve just completed Level 1 and loved that it moves at a good pace compared to some classes where you spend ages on the very basic. It’s also very flexible allowing you to change between a wide range of days and times. Nelson Navarette was my main instructor and he gets 5 out of 5 for endless enthusiasm and making learning fun.

Burges has a great system for teaching Spanish. The teachers are friendly and supportive and the online textbook has the vocabulary and grammar that is relevant to the lesson.

I am so glad I found Berges Institute! I began taking classes about 6-7 months ago. I started in the very beginning, even though I had taken a few Spanish classes when I was younger. It was the best decision! The program is built so that you can start where ever you feel comfortable. You are able to move through the course material and progress at your own pace. The classes are offered at all different times and days (even on weekends)! You are also able to retake a class to ensure you have a good foundation before moving on. With the team of instructors working for Berges Institute, you are in great hands! They are patient, encouraging and really knowledgeable in teaching adult learners. I have primarily taken classes with Monica Negron, Silas Bermudez, and Rolando Gonzalez, but all of their instructors are fantastic. I've found that Monica, Silas, and Rolando are great at adding extra practice and providing some of the cultural extras based on the lesson of the day. They are amazing! And you can't beat the price for what you get!!

I highly recommend Berges Institute if you are looking for an online (via Zoom) Spanish school to get you learning and speaking Spanish...at your own pace...with a fantastic team of instructors!! Give them a try...you won't be disappointed.

I have taken many Spanish lessons of multiple levels from Rolando at Berges Institute. Rolando is an excellent Spanish teacher. His classes have a good balance of lecture and practice. He is very knowledgeable; he explains language points very clearly with ample examples and points out the nuances in word choice and contextual usage so that students can learn the authentic way of communication. He corrects students’ mistakes without making them feel discouraged. In his lessons, he uses vocabulary and sentence structures based on the course progress, so students are adequately challenged but not overwhelmed. Rolando is patient, calm, and funny. His lessons have given me a good foundation in Spanish; for a beginner-level student, this is priceless. Rolando is an outstanding teacher!

I just finished Level 1 Spanish at Berges (Zoom group classes) with Marian. I really enjoyed it and feel that I learned a lot in a short amount of time! I appreciated the flexibility of the classes, the kindness and patience of the instructor, and the clarity of the written materials. I’m looking forward to Level 2!

Yo he tenido una experienca estupenda con Berges. Yo empece las clases en nivel 2 hace 6 meses y ahora estoy en nivel 5 y en un clase de convercacion basico. Normalmente yo tomo las clases con Nelson pero yo he tomado clases con otras maestros tambien. Todos estan muy bien. Mi español esta mejorando rapidemente y las clases estan divertidos. Recomiendo a todas personas que quieres aprender Español.

I have had a great experience with Berges. I started classes at level 2 six months ago and now I am at level 5 and in a basic conversation class. Normally I take classes with Nelson but I have taken classes with other teachers as well. They are all very good. My Spanish is improving quickly and the classes are fun. I recommend to all people who want to learn Spanish.

I am so glad I found Berges. My Spanish confidence has increased tremendously after two months. Looking forward to continuing with their program!

After several attempts at trying to learn spanish, I run across this program online. I LOVE IT.
I completed the 10-week beginner course. My primary instructor is Gloria Alveal. She is wonderful. Super attentive, very patient and explains things easily. She makes the classes fun.
The ability to retake classes with other instructors is a wonderful option. I had the pleasure of taking two courses with other instructors and found them to be very good teachers. I learned so much. I'm looking forward to the next level.

I have been taking Spanish with Berges for the last few months and I love the experience and the instructors! Everybody is great and very knowledgeable and passionate. I have been learning so much thanks to the teachers and to the Berges Institute! I have improved greatly and I can't be happier. Highly recommended!! A++++++

I had studied Spanish for years with Duolingo and could read well, but I never felt comfortable trying to speak. I started taking Grammar classes at level 3 (I was surprised that the other students in the class were already somewhat conversational after only 2 beginner classes - so it is obvious that conversational skills are taught early on in Grammar class), and a month or so later started the Basic Conversation class , both with Nelson Navarrete (I highly recommend taking classes with Nelson). I have just completed level 4 in Grammar and am into my 2nd round of Basic Conversation. The change in my abilities is fantastic after just 5 months - I cannot wait to see where I will be at year's end! I can now have a conversation in Spanish (by no means perfectly - but I can communicate and am no longer afraid to make errors). I think in Spanish much of the time as well. I can't thank Nelson enough - his classes are a fun and welcoming space and I look forward to each one. I wish I had found Berges sooner.

The teachers at Berges are all top notch! I have now completed Levels 1 and 2 and I have learned SO MUCH!!! Gloria is a fantastic teacher, positive, fun, experienced, knowledgeable and just the best! I cannot say enough good things about Berges! I can’t wait to start Level 3!!!

Classes are offered at the students convenience and my instructor Monica Negron was exceptional in every way.

I took the level 1 Spanish class and learned a ton. Yuli is a fantastic instructor and I can’t say enough good things about her. She sent extra videos and PDFs of our class work. She was extremely patient and answered all of my questions.

I highly recommend this company and methodology for learning Spanish! I've LOVED my classes with Nicolás Zuluaga, & Rolando González, both are super interesting, fun, knowledgable and engaging teachers. Both deserve awards, prizes, a raise or whatever you can!

...If you want to improve your Spanish, this is what I'd recommend!

Just finished Level 2 and I really love the course and approach. I'm continuing with Nicolás Zuluaga -- he's terrific! We spend a few minutes at the beginning of each class just practicing casual conversation using what we've learned previously, so you start to build a working spoken vocabulary. It's a really great way to learn. The textbook is clear and easy to navigate, the homework is enough but not too much. I look forward to the weekly lessons.
