I have had my issues with Utility companies in the past and I was wary of using Smarter Business at the start. However I found Bronwyn James to be very thorough and painstaking in her research and follow through.
I would recommend SB and in particular Bronwyn to similar small businesses such as my own.

We've been working with Rehen at BAS Energy for the past couple of years and have been very happy with the service. Very personable and friendly on the phone, and by far the cheapest rates for both electricity and gas (after a small haggle).

We have always shopped around as much as possible but no other company has come close to the prices we have received from BAS.

Company provides the good energy rates compared to other energy providers. Thanks to Kameer who helped me in getting the contract done with the best rates as possible.

On Monday Divani contacted me regarding renewal of my energy contracts and she told me that based on last years bills I would be saving quite a bit of money as my consumption had gone down on my bills. She had got a good deal for my electricity so could she verbally do the contract over the phone but as I was going out it would have to be tomorrow, she rang me in the morning 13th Feb 18 and we started the verbal contract but when she told me the day rate and night rate which she failed to disclose on Monday only basing the savings as a yearly saving on the basis that my consumption had decreased, it was actually more expensive per kWh hour than the prices I myself had got on Friday from Eon, I stopped the verbal contract and told her that I had got it cheaper myself and told her the rates, she said I needed to check they had based the prices on the amount I use and that the charge for the automated reads would also be extra on top of these prices, but I said I was putting the contract on hold until I had contacted Eon and yes everything was in with eon plus I would get a 7% discount for DD. I rang her back and she then got me a cheaper electricity price, I was now feeling uneasy as why she had not given me that cheaper rate in the first place, I felt let down and that she wasn't looking after me so I decided to contact a few brokers myself for prices.
The gas was a good price from this new broker with a 0% standing charge and with a 2.687 kWh price. I was told by Devani that the only way to get a cheaper gas rate of 2.85 kWh is to have a high standing charge, I stupidly believed her and went along with that at £10.00 per day in 2016 for the 2 year contract believing and trusting what she had told me was true.
After speaking with the new energy advisor I then rang Devani and asked her what prices she could get my gas at and she then told me my gas didn't end until 2020 , no I said they both end on 31st July 2018 which I had wrote down when I took the last 2 year contracts out in 2016.
She went on to tell me I had taken another contract out and to check my email from 11th July 2016 , I did I had several emails from BAS that day but no email about this supposed new contract. She then emailed across the email from 11th July 2016 stating I had taken out a 48 month contract for my gas at 2.757 per kWh but with a standing charge of £8.45 per day for 48 months this equates to £13,570.70 extra for the standing charge alone over the 4 year period .
I questioned this with her and her reply was well you are doing well aren't you with your business and you have used less energy so it would be ok, it's not bloody ok, I am beside myself with worry over this.
I asked her what I can do as I have no recollection of going into a 4 year contract but she told me to carry on with this contract for 14 months and then she will see if she can get the standing charge down for me but it will be a higher kWh rate, I asked her how much she said she didn't know and was waiting for them to get back to her.
I feel she had lied to me saying I could only get a cheaper kWh rate by having a higher daily standing charge which is quite clearly not the case but I trusted her that she would look after me and do her best for me, obviously not!!!!
I am with Gazprom for my gas at the moment and I contacted them this afternoon and they stated that the BAS had not even asked them for a new renewal quote first, WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN DONE?????
I feel totally let down and have this afternoon been in contact with Ofgem about this shoddy appalling practice.
Back in 2016 I had a lot of problems caused by BAC with contracts not going live as they had not been given enough notice or they were applied for too early by BAC causing me to have out of contract rates and I was left to sort this out on my own, each energy company blaming the other, at one point I thought I had two contracts for electricity running at the same time not to mention extortionate bills to pay and when I reminded Devani about how bad an experience that was on Tuesday she found it funny, I said to her it's not funny it made me ill with worry and the fact that I had to take time out of my business to sort all this mess out is disgusting.
GET YOUR OWN PRICES FIRST SO YOU THEN KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BEING GIVEN TO COMPARE , DONT TRUST THEM AS I DID, it has been a very costly mistake!!!!!!

Having been dealing with another company for some months to get our electrical supply connected and a contract in place with no satisfactory outcome. I looked for other options and found these guys online, with the superb help of Mohammed Gani ("Mo") it was all organised and contracts signed within 3 days. The instillation and service were exactly what I wanted and I could not fault them. Plus their prices were far more competitive than the previous quotes with the other firm (probably cant say there name on here but the Queen where's one!).
