Product Eventually Arrived — But Not As Shown, Not As Promised, and Not Without a Fight
Current Trustpilot Score at Time of Writing: 2.3/5 ("Poor") July 2026
I ordered the Barnakl Ultra Fresh Pro Ecosystem Starter Kit plus made an additional purchase of the 5-Room Filter Bundle on June 3, 2026. One-time purchase, $252.46 total. What followed was a 20-day exercise in frustration that could have been avoided with basic clear communication.
What went right: The product concept is sound and I eventually received all the components. A human reviewer finally confirmed (after I sent 16 proof photos across 8+ emails) that the baseplates were integrated into the magnetic shells I'd already received, and the templates were folded into the bottom of those boxes.
What went wrong — almost everything else:
The Barnakl website shows a clean green Ultra Fresh Pro Ecosystem Starter Kit Box containing baseplates, templates, instructions, magnetic shells, and filters. At checkout you are informed that a set of "Upgrade Shells" are included with your order and will ship separately. What actually arrived: multiple mylar bags, crushed small boxes, a loose telescoping Krane tool with zero protective packaging of its own, instead they combined the 5-Room Filter Bundle and shoved those filters into a bag with the loose Krane Tool, and finally a single pack of filters masquerading as a "replacement order." No green box. No instructions. No templates. No clear labeling.
Barnakl repeats "the Pro Series may ship in multiple shipments" constantly — but never explains what that actually means for you as a buyer. They use multiple shipping partners for the same order (USPS, GOFO/Aftership contractors in unmarked vehicles). The shipping confirmation email telling you what's in each package does not match what actually shows up at your door.
Customer support was the real letdown. After being greeted by the bot Amanda, Live chat agent Angelica joined twice, greeted me warmly, then disappeared — both times. Chat timestamps are hidden until after your order is delivered, so you can't hold anyone accountable during the process. Phone calls to their hard-to-find support line went unanswered. After 20+ days, 6+ emails with 16 proof photos, 2+ calls, and multiple chat sessions, I received a generic functional apology bundled with a review request — no sincerity, no true accountability.
This, however, is not a scam. It's a company with a decent product concept but haphazard fulfillment, misleading website presentation, and a support system that seems designed to wear you down rather than help you.
What Barnakl needs to fix (and it wouldn't be hard):
Show what customers will actually receive — not a green box that doesn't exist in shipping
Match shipping confirmation emails to actual package contents
Stop hiding chat timestamps until post-delivery
Answer your phones, return your messages, publish real hours, and hire some assistance, not just "keep it breezy around here".
Train support staff to stay in conversations, not vanish mid-chat helping other customers, then not returning, but ghosting.
Bottom line: Trustpilot currently shows Barnakl at 2.3/5 ("Poor") as of this review. Based on my experience, that score is accurate. The product may work once my caretaker and I are able to install it, but the buying experience was exhausting, confusing, and unnecessarily adversarial. Changes would need to be implemented before I shopped here again, even for refills.
