The issue described is related to Amazon Brand Registry requirements rather than the functionality or validity of the barcode numbers themselves. Our barcodes work for Amazon listings, which is why we provide a "Works for Amazon" guarantee, and we clearly explain throughout our Terms of Service, FAQ section, and product pages that Amazon Brand Registry has different requirements if a seller has agreed to obtain barcodes directly through GS1.

If a seller has entered into an agreement with Amazon requiring GS1-issued barcodes for Brand Registry, Amazon will only accept numbers purchased directly from GS1. Unfortunately, this is a policy set by Amazon and is outside of our control.
