Trying to contact BOI on line is almost an impossible task. I want to pay off my mortgage, am an existing customer but never registered online. Won't accept my account number, tel numbers that don't work, do they know we are in the year 2023? Can't even email anyone, eventually found an online form but can take up to 5 days for a reply. Unbelievable bad service. Move on and find alternative ways to mortgage. Do not use BOI.

I've tried numerous times and I keep getting asked for recent transactions on the account that I have never used before. When I explain I have not used the account and don't have any recent transactions I am told they are unable to proceed with verification. And that's it, no alternative options, nothing.

Even if you leave a message via their hub you still dont get an answer within 5 working days.

Awful. Trying to get through on the phone, 3 to 4 minutes before you actually get in the queue with lots of unnecessary ts&cs. When you do get in the queue , earliest ive been is number 23. 9 calls so far, i have been cut off twice by BOI, all because i put the wrong password into my hub once, now locked out, have to ring to get it unlocked. BOI, awful!!!! Only way to contact them is by letter, no obvious complaint procedure, i dred when i have to have the conversation for my morgage renewal!

Really wishing I’d paid the exit charge and taken my new mortgage out elsewhere. Long delays on applications, too busy to fax over confirmation to my solicitors so we could exchange, average wait time 1.5hrs to speak to someone, took my ERC when it should have been waived and now I’m chasing to get £4k paid back from them. The department you need to speak to is either unavailable or gone home before 5pm - just a shambles. Not the call centre staffs fault, they are always pleasant and polite but management is clearly inadequate as they are under resourced and can’t cope with the volume of work they have.

What is right with this bank. They close atms and branches with no complaints from Plastic Donohoe the finance 2nd in command in the swapped seats but who is higher in the swivel seats in the EU. But if the AIB dare to close branches his head pops out of the cuckoo clock so fast it is like a trap for a mouse. Can some1 explain how we have one and a half minister x 2 but both are missing whilst BOI yet again goes into meltdown??Any1 pass this message onto Mr Plastic Mr Mc Grath or Mr Verruca I would appreciate it. Why does BOI feel like its crashing slowly?

New phone so need to install software to access bank. Day 2 of BOI not being able to issue a code to make this work and allow our business to function correctly. Once again the poor IT system in BOI shines through. Sure lets just spend another day phoning to see if they have fixed the rubber band.

DAY 4 still no access to bank account.

Navan branch. 1 person on cash desk. 10 people in queue and getting bigger. Disgraceful. People on breaks from work don't get time to have a break

I went to the portlaoise branch again over a cheque that was lodged incorrectly there, they deposited the wrong amount into my account and blamed it on the American bank stating there extremely difficult to deal with and I'll have to wait 40 days for a reply even though this has been going on for 4 months now with no answer. Apparently as CAROLINE who works there stated you've worked for the bank before you should know the procedure and laughed. She was rude and of no help. When the other lady went in to ask her to come out to speak to me, she was rude about it and proceeded to make me wait 10 minutes before coming out. Extremely unprofessional and one of the reason why I no longer work for them. I have changed cheques the whole time in Abbeyleix branch and have had no problems. Apparantly also according to Caroline abbeyleix could have a better relationship with the american bank, compared to portlaoise, which is ridiculous there under the one name, I highly dought the American banks know all the branchs. Absolutely disgusted with the way I was treated, they tuke no responsibility for it and were down right rude! At the end of the day its my money that's missing and They don't even have the curtesy to help! Closing my account now, can no longer trust them!

Waiting 3 days for a current account statement to apply for a mortgage. App is awful. No one who can help within customer service. Just wait. Their security is also terrible. Would not recommend this bank. They have not been updated since the 1900s

Bricks and mortar buildings have been replaced with the cheapest of cheap apps that constantly crashes and fails. Even if you can find a branch still open it's a ghost ship full of printouts on walls with QR codes containing links to their website. I question the purpose of this banks existence other then to just syphon money from its poor customers accounts via various "charges". Not surprisingly they come last in the table. I plan to switch banks very soon.

Very poor bank who tried to rip me off, rude and not very helpful, I don't know how they are still in operation as they're terrible

One nasty bank with shocking customer services, probably the worst I have encountered, never again

Worse than useless not just lies told by them but great big fecking lies with bells hanging off them

All customer service is now in India and I cant get the problem solved at any branch. Despite the fact, there are 3 customer service agents at the branch where I go.

My account number is shared with someone in a different area of the country. A nightmare of problems came with that. No fault of mine.
Can't even pay online. I call online, I am sent to the bank branch.
I go to the bank branch, I am told to call customer support.

Worst, I need to take time off from my working hours because the bank doesn't have operational working hours that suit working people.

No surprise Revolut is taking the world...

Another two month left on mortgage and I will never deal with them again.

Called into branch at 2 College Green, Dublin today (19/05/23) to make an over-the-counter withdrawal. The clerk who attended to me was chewing gum so fiercely that his mouth resembled a washing machine with white socks tumbling around. When I told him that I thought it was inappropriate to chew gum so visibly in front of a customer his response was "You got what you wanted".

Currently trying to port our mortgage with BOI UK application submitted in March 23 and still no mortgage offer, no updates, no communication. They are doing everything possible to cause delays, doing audits etc and now we are at the point the seller is going to re market the house as they as well as everyone else is very frustrated. I couldn’t recommend against using this company any more if I could. Most stressful experience which should be pretty straight forward. Doesn’t even deserve the 1 star.
